I have the first two Quadrium games. I have enjoyed both of them. I was looking forward to this game. I liked it. Most of the levels are not as challenging as the harder ones on the first two. That was a bit disappointing. What I really liked was the mini game of rearranging the jewels earned during the regular game. After I had finished all the levels I was looking forward to doing more of the mini games only to find out you have to start over as a new player to get to them. That really disappointed me.
I have had this game for years. I keep coming back to it. It has options like having to rotate pieces, choosing the number of pieces per puzzle picture "ghost" that puts a faded picture on the playing board where you can choose the amount of transparency. The pieces can be set to the correct orientation without having to rotate them. You can add your own pictures. It gives you tray options to sort your pieces as you like. It will sort pieces for you by shape or color or both. I have had many hours of play. You can do each puzzle as many times as you like. It also offers different styles of puzzle pieces. One has all straight sides but at various angles.
The game story was logical. There really weren't way out there gaps in it. I enjoyed it. The puzzles, for the most part, were lead you to the answers, or easy to figure out. That's why I gave it a 3 for challenge. Some were too challenging for me because they had too many possible solutions and I didn't want to spend my time trying to solve them. It has a map for fast swap to a location and an "interest" indicator to help you know where to go next. I liked that.
The story line was page after page after page. I decided to skip most of it because it got in the way of actually playing the game. Searching for the hidden object was okay, but the fog kept getting in the way. I don't recommend this game.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
It was too creepy. I also did not like the new format for finding objects. The challenging level was over my head. I kept having to look up the walkthru just to get anywhere. It is a lot like Return to Ravenhurst, but not as enjoyable to me. This game was like taking the story a "Bridge too far".
