Let me say firstly, I am not one who leaves many reviews, but having seen all the negative reviews for this game, I felt I needed to leave my review.
I have loved all the Hercules games and was excited to see another one in the franchise after I finished Alexis Almighty. One thing to say upfront..this is NOT an easy time management game. There is a lot, and I mean A LOT, of strategy involved. I regularly play all TMs on expert/difficult level as I usually find them quite easy (except for the odd level) to complete within the 3 stars/ gold time frame.
I completed the first 10 levels on difficult (with quite a few re-runs) but after level 10 it became a completely different kettle of fish. I had to resort to playing on normal cos, no matter how hard I tried, even using the strategy guide I couldn't complete the levels within 3 stars. Though I had to go down to 'normal' play - I have enjoyed playing this immensely, in fact I have completed the game twice now and am going back for a third run this time on difficult!
I have read all the reviews and I will say this...the wizard is not as bad as everyone is saying - the key to him is to click as soon as he starts waving his arms - this only happens once your worker has left the tent - I found by lining up a number of tasks and then 'sitting' my cursor on him and therefore being able to click on him I was able to prevent him casting the spell that caught my workers - yes it took some time on some of the later levels to get this rhythm happening, but it all added to the challenge of the game. He does only appear 4 times (at the end of each block of 10 levels).
I like the fact that you aren't just 'gifted' the puzzle piece, you have to get the 3 stars to be able to unlock the puzzle piece and therefore the bonus levels.
Thank you developers for creating a TM game that really makes you think and strategize about your next move.
If you want a TM game that really makes you think and plan then this is the one for you. If you prefer your TMs to be the run of the mill click and collect and be done easily within 3 stars then this is not the game for you.
I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a real challenge!!

I really enjoyed this game. It is one of the best games I have played in a very long time - definitely a Game of the Year contender. It reminded me of puzzle games from the 90's. If anyone remembers the Seventh Guest it is very similar in feel to that just not as complex. Yes the puzzles do start off easy and there is repetition with unlocking the doors but the difficulty does increase as you go along.
The only thing that would have been nice is to be able to have the map with you to be able to zip through the rooms quickly, but as a previous reviewer stated, it is not a big house that you are exploring its just tedious going back to previous rooms looking for clues and items that you may have missed or to go back to puzzles that you have finally located a clue for. The other nice thing would have been a counter letting you know the number of secrets you had uncovered and same with the artwork. I managed to find all 38 pieces of art but it wasn't until the end that I discovered that I had only found 20 of the 22 secrets and I can't go back to see if I can find the missing 2 secrets.
i hope that the game developers create a sequel as I really did enjoy playing this.
