i played about half the demo (short on time today!) and I think this game is a good solid 4. The graphics and voice overs are quite good, and I like the helper jackal...interesting and not cutesy! I found the storyline interesting, with the main character having to enter his own paintings to rescue his family. The HO scenes are relatively average, not for people who want really challenging ones, but good, with good music. The puzzles I came to so far were not overly challenging either, but interesting and a bit different than usual. The CE version has all the usual items, including achievements and collectibles, plus a secret game as well. I also liked that you can customize the difficulty level, I'm looking forward to playing it sometime soon!

I really enjoyed playing the demo of this one. I love the look of this game, and the challenge level is good if you play it on the hardest level. I liked the voice overs in this one (old school British) as well as the option to play mahjong in the HO sections. The puzzles are more fun than super challenging, but its nice to play one once in awhile where you don't have to swear at your pc! lol One thing I particularly liked is the collections area, which is a lovely scene in and of itself. I also like that you know in advance how many collectibles are in each chapter. If you like games with Chinese/Asian themes, give this one a try! My only complaint was that I would have liked a custom difficulty option.

This game looks good, but it just didn't hold my interest. Maybe I have played too many games with royalty and a helper, but I just didn't find anything very new in this one, just Francis Drake instead of a cat or elf! There didn't seem to be any real advantage to having the CE version, unless you must have a strategy guide. The achievements and collections appear to be part of the regular game, as they were not listed with the extras. I am recommending it as it has good HO scenes and puzzles, but I won't buy it myself as I've played too many like it. Might be a good choice as a SE if you like a mild kind of game.

I just couldn't get past the bad translations in this game. There are no voice overs, so you have to read the text that honestly reads like it was translated by a free translate program. If you're thinking of buying it, make sure you try it first. If they put out an edited version, I'll try it again.

I lasted about 10 minutes into the demo. This game feels like a student project at game design school. Super talky story line, you pick a screen size and are stuck with it, you can't lock the inventory, and for some reason it's difficult to get back to a previous screen. I don't remember anything about the story because it was such a pain to play.
I don't recommend this game.

After playing about 20 minutes of the demo, I decided that I will use a punch code to get this one. It looks and plays a little differently than most, but that's fine for a change. I liked the voice overs, and the graphics are good. It is a bit slow to play, as the cut scenes are fairly long, but once you get into the rhythm of it, it's fine. It's kind of like the old school HOGs. but that's not a bad thing...I was getting a little tired of evil queens and little critter helpers! I would recommend people to try it before buying, as it's not like most other HOG out now.

I have played all the games in this series, and this is the only one I won't purchase. It is dark to look at--even after I took another reviewer's advice and brightened the screen--and there are a lot of flashing lights and bursts of light. I found that I was still seeing the lights when I closed my eyes. The combination of darkened scenes and bright lights just doesn't do it for me. Otherwise it was okay, played well, and had okay HOPs and mini games. The extras were the usual types, nothing exceptional.
This is a good SE game, and after playing about 10 minutes of the demo I bought it with a punch code. This is the kind of game I like to play between more challenging and/or freaky ones. The graphics and voices were good, the storyline interesting and I would suggest playing on the hardest level you're comfortable with, as it is not that difficult a game.
I recommend this game!

I have played ( and loved ) all the PuppetShow games, and this one is no exception. It is a wonderful mixture of the creepy and the absurd, with flashes of humour. In this one, the player can choose to play as 1 of six characters, and can customize the difficulty level. There are all the expected items you look for in a good CE game, and one of the better ones is that once you have collected a doll, you can upgrade its appearance through the collection of tokens. This game looks and sounds great, with a suitably weird story line, and good puzzles to solve. The demo hour just flew by!

I liked this game very much, and would have given it 5 stars if it had been longer. The puzzles and HO scenes are challenging and interesting, and I really enjoyed turning from a human into a wolf! The bonus chapter took an interesting route by providing an alternative ending. I thought the game was a bit short, however, and this was the only disappointment.
