shazam96's Review History

After using a secret alias to board the Titanic, things go terribly wrong and you find yourself trapped among the wreckage. In order to earn freedom from your watery tomb you must appease your captor by re-writing history and freeing the spirits trapped aboard the 'unsinkable' luxury liner as well as discover why fate has chosen this destiny for you.

This was a fair hidden object game. It features a reporter, undercover as a journalist who finds himself as a spirit underwater at the wreckage of the Titanic. To be honest, the Titanic name and theme was just a grab, it could be have been any ship, and in fact the vessel seemed rather too small to be the Titanic anyways. It has nothing to do with the Titanic storyline other than the large ship sinking due to an ice berg. The storyline was fair, but nothing compared to other games IO have done. It was a rather fun game, there are fun activities, but it could use some things like voices of the characters. I am use to playing Mystery Case Files games where you actually have a cutscene with talking characters, so it bothered me to just have images and a readable dialogue. The visual graphics were not bad at all. Some things looked close to real. As for the sound, it lacked quality. There were basically only two tracks of music that played through the entire game, and I had to turn off the music just to play the game. As far as the challenge, it was good for me when my brain was tired and I needed an easier game. It's more for beginner HOGPs ( Hidden Object Game Players ) because in the hidden object scenes, you could literally click randomly and get 75% of the items you needed. If I would have known this, I would have chosen the difficult style of playing, but again, I'm use to MCF games where the difficult version is extremely frustrating. The puzzles were occasionally difficult, and I found myself to skip one or two when I got frustrated. On the other hand, some puzzles were incredibly easy and didn't even take a full two minutes to complete. The gameplay was rather slow, and laid back. The main challenge was to just figure out where you needed to go next, as the location was fairly large. If you are a master at HOGs, and have played games such as the Adventure Style Mystery Case Files ( Return to Ravenhearst+ ) then I do not suggest this game. If you consider yourself a new or intermediate HOGP, then this is a good game to get you to the next rank. Good luck, mates!
I recommend this game!

I love the Mystery Case Files theme. Ive heard them all, all versions. Huntsville/Prime Suspects, Ravenhearst, Madame Fate, Return to Ravenhearst, Dire Grove ( Tricky one, put it in the end credits ), 13th Skull, Malgrave Incident, & Escape from Ravenhearst ( VERY tricky, but it at the end with Charles playing it )
This one really got me going. It's a little dramatic, but it's good. It fits the story of Return to Ravenhearst.
It's truely classical! ( My favorite ) I can even play alot of "Huntsville" on piano by ear, i'm really a true MCF Music fan.
I like how the "To the Underground Lake" is just an alternate version of "Back to Blackpool". I dont quite get "Charles Theme". It's really not a theme, just a tiny cue! I like the videos of the Behind the Scenes, also. I love orchestras. I dont quite get "A Legend is Destroyed". It's just a tiny piece, & then pause, then tiny piece. Sorry, but I think they just made Charles Theme and Legend is Destroyed at promos, since they have cool titles. I recommend this soundtrack to any fan of the MCF music, or even just a fan of RTR.
I recommend this game!

Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.

I will start my review with stating that this is a sequel to two other Mystery Case File Games. I bought both.
Ravenhearst was the old type of MCF, when Return to Ravenhearst was the first one with adventure gameplay.
In Escape from Ravenhearst, you, Master Detective, are called back to none other than Ravenhearst Manor! Be warned, your arch nemesis awaits!
This is a great game. Of course, all MCF are, especially with adventure gameplay.
What this is, is a sequel. It features the same storyline of the detective going to Ravenhearst, and meeting Charles Dalimar. But this time, he's taking you through wild things.. trying to make you understand why he is crazy.
I like the graphics and music of this game. Though it doesn't have a new opening theme, there are two more versions ( Along with some small cues when opening doors ) of the MCF theme heard in the game, and credits. The graphics are great, as they even put real-life characters in!
As for the actual fun facotr, it's great. However, there is one con. All the horror images and "thingys" about. For example, popping pimpels, giving birth to a baby, and much more. These are not normal MCF Factors, so fans of other MCF games, know this game is different then the others. You might wanna play through the middle without younger children, ( I'd say age -9 ), but that's your call. The beginning and end, though, aren't scary, and I love thos parts. There are many good scenes, as you must always collect items and explore multiple areas. In this game, you basically multy-task.
Be sure to have a pen and paper ready, as there are alot of codes and whatnot to memorize, and sometimes, time limits, causing you to HURRY! The challenge is well-balanced, but alot of players may find it too hard. It was nearly too hard for me, as I found myself using occasional hints and skips, as well as alot of strategy-guide-using. All in all, it's a good MCF, but not the best Ravenhearst. No offense, EFR,(Escape from Ravenhearst ) but I liked RTR ( Return to Ravenhearst ) better. I liked the areas better, as well as the puzzles and items. Though, as far as storyline, this is the best MCF to date ( 2011 ). The storyline is well-thought, whoever thinks of these games, is excellent at storyline-making. You should turn these into movies!!
To end my review, If you are a MCF fan, especially a Ravenhearst fan, you will love this game, but watch out for those gross scenes and annoying sounds! If you are just now trying MCF games, get Ravenhearst+Return to Ravenhearst first. You wont want to go back to the old MCF style ( Huntsville-Madame Fate ) once you play one with adventure gameplay, so i recommend at least trial-version-ing Ravenhearst and buying Return to Ravenhearst, and finishing it, before playing this Game.
The only cons are the gross scenes, annoying sounds, and sometimes, frustrating goals. Otherwise, great Mystery Case Files game. Good luck facing from the notorious nose-picker, Victor, and your arch nemesis, Charles Dalimar. Good luck.... escaping from Ravenhearst, MASTER... Detective.....

Alright, I'm gonna start my review with stating I played Huntsville on a different account ( Forgot password #.
I loved it, along with it's theme. I trialed Prime Suspects, and liked it.
I played Ravenhearst, and also liked it. I was a little bored of the whole find objects thing with Madame Fate.
Years later, I bought this. It is excellent!
It has adventure gameplay, which everyone LOVES! We like to be able to walk around. It had a great storyline, with neat puzzles, graphics, and sound!
Graphics:
It looks pretty real for a hidden object games. Not just the areas, but the characters look like real people # I think they are, though )!
Storyline:
The storyline is excellent. It features a true mystery, only a detective can solve! Trust me, Emma's story was far from the end...
Level of Challenge:
It took a while for me. The puzzles are the most challenging, and collecting tools. But that's the fun part!
Also, I greatly enjoyed the soundtrack.
Now, before you play., know this. The average detective wouldn't go near this place! You aren't alone! No, i don't mean the ghosts, I mean the evil that lurks beneath.... with a sidekick that picks his nose! Enjoy the game, it's totally worth it!!
I recommend this game!
