I think this might be one of the most enjoyable games I ever played. The storyline was good, the voiceovers excellent, and the variety of games was good. The hidden object scenes included several types of hints and a fragmented object. Within the HOS, there was also a puzzle (of varying types) you could play if you wanted to earn more points/jewels/items to sell. All the items you collected from each set get sold at a market so you can earn money. Each scene has two pieces of torn paper which gradually add up to a new scene that is then unlocked for you to play. Great fun!
I really got involved in the story line and remained so throughout. Many games seemed to get too interested in puzzles, HOs, etc., at some point during the game and the story becomes forgotten, but this one does not. I had no problem with the graphics, and the voiceovers were good. You mostly complete the action in one area of the town before moving on to another, so items don't stay in your inventory for long. I completed the whole game because I wanted to see the resolution. It looks as though there are two endings to choose from--an interesting idea. I like it very much.

This game was very, very short. I played on the casual level, which would be easy for a beginner or a younger child. The help button didn't point you to the next location, and it sometimes misnamed items. The hidden object games also misnamed some objects. There also was a ghost who was somewhat a negative stereotype. In addition to hidden objects, there were also other puzzles to solve, so there was some variety. The sound was fine, but I usually turn the sound off anyway because the repetition in a long game can be too much, but this game was over so quickly that this would not have been a problem. Great for beginners, perhaps, but not recommended for others unless you have a free game about to expire.
The various characters were interesting, especially the Baron. The design of the city and the characters drew on the Day of the Dead designs, which was a refreshing change to the usual look of games. The storyline was solid, even throughout the bonus game. The map in the main story was very helpful for moving around to spots with tasks to do. Quite a fun experience throughout.
I loved the House of 1000 Doors series and had great hopes for this, too, but it was nowhere as much fun or as interesting as the previous games. The drawing of the main female character was as lacking as ever, but the storyline was not interesting, either. The extra chapter of the collector's edition was definitely not worth the extra money--you're just sent hopping all over the place to complete the searches without much rhyme or reason: you definitely need to refer to the map to find your next location because it seems this chapter is just meant to fill up extra time to charged the collector's edition price. When I was finished, I really felt no satisfaction or enjoyment in playing this game. It was well-drawn as usual, but nothing else seemed better than OK.
There was no enjoyment in playing this game. You had to following the directions in picking up items and building things in exactly the order mentioned. It was like playing a tutorial run by a strict drill sergeant. I don't think it would be very enjoyable for kids, either.
The Brothers Grimm have assigned the task of revealing the truth behind missing children in the town of Arbourshire; it is up to you to discover the secrets of the Fairy Tale Mystery, before it is too late.
I almost didn't get this because of some lukewarm reviews, but I'm glad I did. I'm tired of games that have you hopping all over to play HOGs just to stretch out the playing time by another hour or two. During those games I lose track of any story or what I need to do with things I find. This game stayed focused on the story and you used items pretty quickly and close to where you are at. The Collector's Edition extra play kept with the story (a lot just tack on more HOGs without any meaning or plot), and when the characters in the story promised more "assignments" to the player, I'm hoping the production company will do just that. I enjoyed the game, felt satisfied with my experience, and appreciated the quick refill on the hint/skip key. I didn't find the objects in the HOGs to be too difficult--they were mostly quite clearly drawn although occasionally well-hidden, and, yes, I did need to use the hint button sometimes, but that's OK. I recommend this.
Your friend, Mary, disappears and it's up to you to save her. Uncover an exotic land with unearthly secrets as you find and help your friend leave the flying island.
I enjoyed this game very much. I agree that it was too short (because I found myself enjoying it so much), and I wish the characters in the cut scene were not cartoons but as elegant as the scenery. OK, done with the negative stuff! I really enjoyed the scenery--this is a land that is half-real and half-imaginary/spiritual, so I enjoyed their imaginations to create this. Also, these aliens want to work with and get help from the humans--a welcome change from creepy doctors in asylums or possessed characters controlled by demons. The fragmented objects were used almost immediately--no dragging them around forever. I don't have problems with games that are straightforward and relaxing. Sometimes this is exactly what I want to do with my time. The sound effects are mostly wind sounds, but the scenery is great. This is a comfortable game with some fresh approaches to the various games elements

I enjoyed the first game and this is no disappointment. There are a variety of puzzles to solve, and the storyline is entertaining. I was continuously drawn to the next action and could not stop playing. I completed the demo and will definitely buy the game. It is fun and involving. The graphics are good, as are the voiceovers. I highly recommend this as a challenging, but not too overwhelming, game. You're easily drawn to the next action to take, and the hidden object sections are not too difficult.
