I have been a fan of Mad Head Games and they really did it up this time. This is an intelligent game with a good storyline and plenty of different challenges.
I especially liked searching for parts of the story book as it's being read. Puzzles and the directions for them make sense. There is a bonus chapter once you finish and then another once that's done !
I just got the feeling that they didn't want to skimp on anything and wanted to create a good gaming experience and that's exactly what they did.
These days when it seems that SE's are becoming extinct it was great to play this SE. Maybe a bit short, or it could have just been that I was enjoying myself. Good storyline and plenty of HO's. What really made me recommend it was that there was a 'Last Chapter' and it was a decent length, but I didn't have to pay for a CE. When you pay for this game you get all that it's worth.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
I have played all the MCF games, and they have always been a favorite of mine. The games always seemed to get better and better. The last one, Dire Grove is one of my all time favorites. Ravenhurst-Escape was disappointing. The best way to put is that I felt 'rushed' in the last two chapters. After having a lot to do before getting there, they were lacking in challenges. The final codes came from nothing encountered previously. I never would have been able to finish the game without the guide. Here's hoping the next effort is better.
I don't recommend this game.

I first got started with HOGs when I tried Spin Tops 'Little Shop' games. I was hooked. Then I moved onto the wonderful of IHOGS and AHOGS. This Spin Top game was fun, and had the trophies and mini-games that made it even better. I think of it as a way to hone my skills in seeking out all those hidden objects in the games I love.
I do like the 'creepy' games, but I agree with some reviewers of those games when they say it's all the same. This has the creepiness factor and is different. It looks great, many of the scenes have a different look about them, and the HOS involves finding separate objects to get an inventory item. I played the demo for only 15 minutes before deciding to buy.
I wasn't disappointed with this, the newest game in the Midnight Mystery series. The graphics are great, the sounds are unobtrusive and, what I call the flow of the game, made sense. I played the demo for 15 minutes and knew it was for me. There are several puzzles along the way, clovers and ravens to find and I always like those extras. I can't wait to continue the adventure!
I do prefer the adventure HOGs, but lately so many of them are exactly the same. I only had to play the demo 20 minutes before I decided this is a must have. The graphics automatically sucked me into the story. The character interaction is good, not too much of it and the story line flows well. Some of the puzzles are the usual types, but there are a few that have a different twist. I just wish there were more games like this one.
