Haunted Legends: The Stone Guest Collector's Edition
Someone is stealing the hearts of children – literally! Is it a brilliant inventor, seeking to cure his ailing son? Or has dark magic taken over the village...
How long have we been waiting for the cute little man to appear again. I was so excited when the game came out. But, unfortunately it is not, what i expected. There is no going-through storyline on the dwarf, one does not understand at all, why he is so evil, nor where he has his powers from to open portals and bring stones to life. The story is - friendly put - strange and not very sense making. I also do not understand how a company can - in times of such great done games - still insist on no lipmoving when the people speak. The two things i really liked are the graphics (that's why one plays ERS games, because of this great style in painting) and the game one could play instead of the Hidden Object Scenes. What i did not like at all was the wandering around so often, just to get one tool and then had to haste back to a totally different location - this made the game very boring and it just couldn't hold my interest, so i am not even going to play the game to its end - and i bought the CE... if i were the developers this would alert me. Sorry, i love this dwarf, but this game don't does him justice!!!
I don't repeat the storyline of the game, others have done this already. What i loved most about the game where that you had the feeling that you are truely on a journey, the locations changed often, the way to get to a place, etc. - and that the story unfolded more and more in a nice manor... you see pics in a book and have to find three items which are in the paintings... and by finding these, you get more information on the background. I loved to play this game, the colours were just great, this little helper was so cute, he even moaned als if he was tired, i loved this. Gameflow was excellent, you know where to go next and what to do - i love, when a game is working smoothly. And every time when i thought: oh, too sad, now it will end - it kept on going... that surely was a pleasant surprise. All in All you get plenty of gameplaying fun for hours and wonderful graphics, nice story, just a really good game. I would praise it with better words, if my english was better, so excuses for this. It's just great, that's for sure:-)
For me this is game of the year. What tremendously great graphics, what a wonderful storyline, what nice tricks with the HO-scenes (the one with the crystals was so great!!!) - I do enjoy every minute of playing, often i do just stare at the scenery and wished there was a land which was exactly like the paintings. I bow my head to the developers, this is a really great, great, great game!!!
A fire breaks out during a concert, and now your daughters are both missing. Hurry to track them down – their music may hold the key to life and death!
This game comes as a surprise to me. When it started, i thought the graphics were kind of weird, as they were kind of different, from what i am used to in these kind of games. But, keep playing people and you get that is a real new style of how to paint a game - i really loved it after a while. The story is that your children get kidnapped and you try to solve the riddle and get them back. Quite a usual story. But with so many new features. I loved the interactivity of the HO-scenes - as they were really making sense. You did not just to find a key to open a chest and then the HO-scene is over and it meant nothing except to keep you busy. Here it is much more beautifully done. (The one i loved most was the little train, which you had to get going... i just stared and couldn't believe my eyes... it looked so realistic, it felt my heart with joy that someone took the effort to create something so beautiful. The hint-button is okay, charges relatively quickly in casual mode. The music is fine. But i for all love the interactive HO-scenes (and normally i do hate them!!!) and i do love the graphics... it is like really being into the story, not just "okay, it is nicely painted". I just love this game also because the developers had the courage to use a new style and appearance. It is worth a try: play the demo and get hooked:-)
a very nice game, if it had a story and we knew, why we take so much effort to get to the juwelries in this Match 3 game. The music sounds indian and thus rises the expectations... we would love to be abducted into a novel of princesses, betrayal, love and hatred... but there is no story... and that is the weak point of this game. It has all a Match 3 game needs: nice buttons, difficult tasks like to clear all silver and golden tiles, nice difficulties when the outer shape of the episode of the game doesn't allow for many stones and one therefore has to think, how to get the tiles there free - and powerups of course. Just the reason why we should play is missing. And therefore it get's indeed boring after a short while, because the action always repeats and we are not awarded with - like another part of the story to happen before our eyes... it's just we play, we get points, then we play again. Too sad that the story is missing, because i really wanted to keep this play. I am in need of a good Match3-game, which i could replay over and over (as i replay cradle of rome often).
Witches Legacy is a series of games from the developer EleFun, all dealing with Lynn and here aunt, who had to save her from the witches. Meanwhile Lynn is grown up and about to marry Edward, a witchhunter, whom she met in another installment and learned to love. On the day of the marriage a strange letter makes Edward leave for the orphan home where he grew up. Lynn follows him and thus the next adventure can begin. This is what i like a lot about this developer: the story works! It has tension. You are always curious, what is going to happen next, how to solve the riddles, etc. - The hintbutton recharges quickly and you have the well-known little "Imp" as a helper - this time there are collectibles to pleasure the Imp and also puzzle-parts to collect throughout the game.
The HO-scenes are interactive - and are clever and thoughtfully arranged. Never are they “too much”, never do you feel lost, not knowing what to do to get further.
As I mentioned in my title, I do love this game and this series Witches Legacy. If you think about it: we follow Lynn now already since she was a little girl - thus her life in fact unfolds over decades to us as we keep on playing the various episodes of the serie. I know of no other serie’s that covers such a long period of time - and what gets me most: every story of these episodes IS interesting and creates tension. What a wonderful craftswork this scenario-writer is delivering to us, with every new installment. Quite a talent to keep a story such fresh!!!
I do love the graphics, I do love the little Imp-helper, I do love the story, the story, the story and I love that this developer takes his players serious in a way that I do often miss with other developers. Neither does he neglect story as so many new games do nor does hij overload his game with interactivity, so that you don’t even want to go on playing because of all this glittering nonsense. This developer gives us a game which is as a costly book on a rainy afternoon… qualitiy work at it’s best. Thank you so much, EleFun, I love this game!
I recommend this game!

Ominous Objects: Family Portrait Collector's Edition
A father returns home to find his children missing - all but one, who refuses to say a word...
I am sorry that i bought the CE. There is no storyline at all - the children are saved in a minute and from then on you don't know, why you are doing all this stuff. There are so plenty of rooms that they don't feel connected at all. The voice of the hero is really unpleasant and also is his "give me a new clue" if you do something wrong. Yes, the graphics are nice, but that there is no story, no tension, no nothing at all that wants you to keep going. I uninstalled it, without playing it to the end. What i also did not like at all, was the "interactivity" of the HO-scenes, at it was in every HO and there are quite plenty of HO-scenes in this game. I know, it is fashion right now to do so, but it also is boring. I do play late at night, after a long day of work... i would love to have some gentle friendly entertainment - instead of solving riddles, which don't explain themselves... you never know, why which tool is ordered to help another one, it is just guessing. Instead i installed an "oldfashioned" game with a real story, with tension, with HO-scenes which are not overloaded with interactivity but just use them sometimes... works much beter for me. Tja, too sad, i spent 2 game credits on this game.
You have this fingerprint-kit and are supposed to get a fingerprint... but... first you have to find the kit and if you don't use the hint, you might never find it, as it is situated in the left corner, almost unvisible if you don't know already what it it... 2. you use the brush in order to make the fingerprints visible... but you can do that for hours without anything changing... then 3. you turn to the guide - hoping it tells you how you can stop this brush and finally get your fingerprint... ha, they don't explain it in the guide... the moment for me to stop this game. If they don't even care to give proper instructions, why should i care to buy their game? Frustrated! It might be a beautiful game, i would have loved to play it, but i don't like being left in the dark, when it comes to how to get a task done.
Normally i love these Myth of... games, but this one just didn't get me. You have a really beautiful scenery, you have fairies and a leprechaun, you have everything it needs - and still it lacks something, the heart. To me this is the first time that i had the feeling the developers of the story didn't know themselves, how to use all the characters they have and thus they all stayed vague. No one will be remembered. And there was no irish music at all - except in the begin, when it tells you that you better play with sound The credits say that the developers got inspired by the irish folk stories, but man... these folk stories are way much elaborated than this story. I guess they just didn't get the spirit of what a fairy really is and how deep it can be rooted in a society. As a matter of fact, i thought they made misuse of the deep traditional cultural inheritage of the irish, they were just using the fairies as papier maché-model - it had no depth and no character and no heart. Sorry to say this, but this was made too cheap - concerning storytelling and characterdeveloping.
I don't recommend this game.

Dreampath: The Two Kingdoms Collector's Edition
Your sister, the Queen, has fallen deathly ill. Now you must travel to a faraway kingdom to find the cure.
If i was only allowed to recommend one game of the last days - it would be this one. It has EVERYTHING you can only wish from a game: an interesting story about dragons and the evil and who is to keep it locked away... nice collectibles... a wonderful help in form of a cat (real great and cute detail!!!), beautiful graphics and what is best: the game has a logical flow so you don't have to use the hintbutton often... for me this is a very pleasant game which soothes your mind after a busy workday. I love when developers put much effort in their games. These did! As written above: buy this! It is cute:-)
