Playing the demo, I found this to be an improvement from the first NL game. The developers seem to have heard all of our woes about the first one because it isn't as stressful getting through levels in NL 2. There are bonuses you can use but I only used them if I absolutely could not get gold on a level. I did purchase the game and do not regret it.

I am rating this based on playing the demo. I will start with the positives. The graphics and sound are very good. The animals are very cute and I was relieved that I couldn't hear the animal sounds as that can become monotonous and annoying. Now the negatives. Dragging characters to their destination is a...drag. I'd much rather click on them and click on their destination. That I could have overlooked though. I found that most of the time when I clicked on an animal it had to be exact or Kerry wouldn't move there. That was the deal breaker for me. The game play is like Wedding Salon, Bella Design and Bloom but not as smooth.
I only played the demo but definitely will be purchasing the game. I've always loved the Virtual Villagers series and this one did not disappoint! The graphics are SO much better and, as always, the puzzles are very challenging. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because I couldn't find a way to speed up the game like I was able to in previous games. There is a 'pause' option, though, which is needed since this game is in real time.
I really liked this clever game but I don't think there should have been HO scenes. Any objects obtained from the HO scenes we could have found along the way. It was more of an Adventure game in my opinion so anyone expecting a run of the mill HOG would surely get disappointed.
I recommend this game!

When I first read some of the reviews regarding the 360 panning I almost didn't even try the demo. Almost. (You are able to slow the panning down some, by the way.) Once I began playing I grew accustomed to panning around and was able to control it. Okay, enough regarding that. I loved this game! It had me hooked once I went in the front door and left me wanting more at the end of the game. The atmosphere, dim colors and music really added to the experience and I was really freaked out at times! My recommendation? Try it, you just might like it! :)

Where to begin! I'll try to keep it short. Based on the Collector's Edition...graphics, sound and storyline caught and kept my interest from the beginning. I liked that there weren't a lot of HOG's. You do have the option of playing a bubble shooter game instead of the HOG but I didn't because I found the HOG's engaging in this game. I liked that it was more about solving the murder and adventure...at least for me. The interaction with the characters just added to the experience. My disappointment? The game ended! ;) A++ from me!
I recommend this game!

I liked the demo enough to purchase the game but I'm having regrets now. I don't care for the flow of the game. Usually once a level is completed you're taken to the map or there is an upgrade to purchase...something! Not in this game. Once you complete the level it's right on into the next one. You have to keep checking your inventory box to see if there is anything like machinery to purchase. I'm a very good TM gamer and I can't get three stars on all levels. If you're like me you'll understand it when I say it has been extremely frustrating for me. Now I have reached boredom because it's just the same thing over and over without a break. Again, I just don't like the flow of the game and it has become tedious. I really wanted to love this game. Just can't.
I will begin by saying that my review is based solely on the demo. At first I thought I was going to love this game. I disagree with one reviewer who stated there were no upgrades to buy. Yes, there are. I agree with another reviewer about the "floating hand". I would have rather been able to just click on an item and "send" it to the customers instead of handing it to them. What I found, and didn't like, was that if you didn't make "Expert" on a level, tough luck. There was no replaying the level to improve the score. (If there was I certainly didn't get it to work even by going to the menu and back to the game level.) I did find it very repetitive and it was beginning to get monotonous to me by the end of the demo. All in all, I think if it hadn't been for not being able to just click and send items and not being able to replay levels, I would have still purchased the game. I wanted to love it!

I will start by saying I only played the demo so my review is solely based on that. I kept waiting to purchase upgrades (speeding up the character, blender, etc.) as the game went on but it's not that kind of TM game. You do get "freebies" such as different shaped glasses, fruit, more blenders. I also encountered a glitch in the game. I was not able to give a customer her order then the game crashed. I don't know if I'm correct but it does not look like the game is a lengthy one. All in all, the game was not exciting or challenging enough for me to want to purchase it. I hoped for more!
I really enjoyed Book One but I like the changes they have made to Book Two. I LOVE the fact that I don't have to click on every single item found by Mr./Ms. Adelantado because once they have found the "secret" item they take care of it themselves and it saves me "clicking" time. Am SO looking forward to the adventures ahead! :)
