I really liked this game! The puzzles are challenging, the story not bad, and HO, while not interactive at least were interesting and made some sense. It reminds me a bit of the first ravenhurst.
Morphing objects are a side thing, not the whole thing. That's good! Puzzles are great, story is fine.
I like the creepy background noises, for me it keeps the atmosphere intense. I like that it wasn't "go here for no reason, then backtrack 30 times for no apparent reason.
It seems like at the end of the hour the graphics in the HO's became poorer quality, but rushing production is never a good thing. I'm sure I couldn't keep up and perhaps the demands are unreasonable? Dunno. What I do know is I liked it.
free is a loose term and its like watching paint dry

If monotony and waiting are for you this is your game. This game is free if you have ten years, if not, its gonna cost ya. I truly hate this type of trend.

This game is great! An HO with a build type atmosphere relating to fish tanks. I didn't think I would, but I actually loved it and found it addicting. No dark theme, no dastardly villain's, no evil lurking around every corner.... and it was loads of FUN! I'm sure its not for everyone, but I found it enjoyable and these days...that's saying something.
I recommend this game!

I only played the demo but this game is great! The level of challenge varies as do the points and the lightening rounds are a blast. Even my non gamer daughter stood behind me answering the questions while I was playing and actually claimed it was fun (she has NEVER found one of my games fun). Don't really know how long you'd have before repetition was a factor but I enjoyed this game immensely as far as the one hour trial went.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
So "game of the year" really means absolutely nothing

I guess they just promote whatever they want to sell the most of as this is the worst MCF I have ever played. I don’t usually let reviews sway my own decision. In this case, most of them are spot on. This MCF is not even in the same league as past offerings and not even for a 2.99 coupon would I consider it. It’s just awful. I am truly baffled as to why this was even sent out for public humiliation.
Leah Thompson added nothing but bad acting. Overemphasized gestures, head and hair flinging, bulging eyed, pathetic camp that even the vaudevillians would have found cringe worthy. She was so good in other movies in the past. Did she not take this seriously?
Its like a movie you watch, but barely participate in. Cut scene’s are too many and boring.
Weighted puzzle blocks are not that fun in any game, let alone this one.
items are incredibly small, in a window in multi rooms and not interactive. Honestly I have a 26" monitor and it was a squint fest to find some of the stuff in about an 8 inch window. That is Velveeta all the way. The cheesiest.
Matching objects to leahs drawings was tedious.
Its the polar opposite of "game". It’s not fun, not all that interactive considering the cut scene to play ratio, and Leah Thompson brought a new low to the genre. The windowed HO multi room aspect really is awful.
I have been revisiting old offerings as what seemed to not be my cup of tea is infinitely better in retrospect that many of the new rush to production for maximum profit garbage.
If this is the future, If this is what’s to come for casual gaming the people that make their living from this are signing their own pink slips. We all lose. Just sad really. I had great expectations. What a disappointment!

I was SO excited to see another MCF's game! I couldnt wait! I wanted to love this game. Sadly, this game just isnt fun.
The HO scenes arent really interactive, small windows and hard to see items (I have a 26" moniter!) here and there within multiple rooms. Some locations need a key, buts its on the list. Annoying!
Weighted video puzzle blocks really arent all that fun or satifying to put together.
Leah Thompson I usually love in anything. She is great in movies but in this venue she overacted in the extreme. Seriously? Head flinging, bulging eyes, big hand gestures. What the heck?
Matching leah's psychic drawings to locations is just ok. Blah.
Way too many video interuptions in what should have been a "cant wait to see whats around the next corner" kind of atmosphere. I found these interuptions really annoying!
It isnt very difficult, but where your supposed to go next isnt always clear. That may have been the only slight upside to the entire game.
All in all the game can be summed up in a few words; tedious, boring. The polar opposite of "game".
I really didnt expect alot as I didnt much like the last MCF's but I was extremely hopeful. Guess Ill just play Madam Fate, Ravenhurst I and II and 13 skulls again till something better comes along. If this is what every future MCF's has to offer, I may just stick to SE coupon deals outside of the MCF's realm, sad as I am to say it.

The story concept is excellent but the puzzles IMO are way too easy and the art while well done lacked polish and was a bit grainy, blurry, or just looked unfinished. The scenes had very little animation towards the end, and the HO scenes had no interaction after the first few. Its a big game with lots to collect so by the time i had my things I had often forgotten where to go, hence I used the hint button ALLOT! Thank goodness it didn't need recharged to point out the next direction. This is a really good game, excellent for kids or beginners just exploring the genre. I kind of wonder if time was an issue and the game rushed to meet an unrealistic date? Seems that way to me. Worthy of your time, just not a shock and awe experience.

This game is a blast!, Its well written, not too hard, kept me playing for days and thats a good thing, and It never hit that annoying "gawd, not again" feeling you get with many games these days. While the graphics are only so so, the voice acting isn't bad at all and the story evolves. I can honestly say I wasn't ever too bored to continue. The hint recharges but you don't don't need it all that often. I really liked this game, its format, its length, and most of all, its story.

I know this is an altogether separate game but it just isn't as fun as the the other two. Its not always clear what your supposed to do next, and the format is back and forth from location to location. I loved Azada I and II but this is an altogether different game. Not in what I would deem a good way.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.

I love Mystery Case Files and most especially the Ravenhurst story...till now. I really couldn't wait till it came out and was so excited I even poped for the CE. DON'T DO IT! Save yourself some cash and wait for the SE or better yet, a sale.
Morphing objects as a side quest are a blast as in Madame Fate but as an entire game, not so much.
Most every puzzle is numbers or math based. What a drag! I hated math and most were ridiculously hard just to obtain one obtuse item.
There were a few puzzles that were reminiscent of the past titles and those were the fun parts. The story fell flat and relied upon your remembering and caring about the characters but warning after warning from them in the first 10 minutes made me have some sympathy for the villain. Overkill! I understand this is a separate chapter but all the Ravenhurst ladies were present so perhaps better writing was needed?
The Casebook was less than useless, as was the strategy guide 85% of the time. Bonus content? Puhleeeze! What a joke. You mostly wander around aimlessly not knowing where to go next or what to do where in previous installments I rarely needed a hint beyond a really well hidden item.
Door tiles? This was one running through everywhere 7 times exercise in futility that makes tell you PC screen over and over "never again"!
This game is SHORT! Not long, took me the least amount for time for all MCF titles. The locations while exquisitely illustrated were few and it becomes boring walking through the same 5 routinely.
I do have to say I really cant see what all the fuss was about regarding intense physco thriller as I didn't feel it here. The previous Ravenhurst made me feel a chill, like damp caves and empathy for little poor girls kept underground. Every time this one got interesting it dropped you somewhere else....like a math puzzle!!! Grrrr.
Charles Dalimar was an interesting character and had they stuck to the old formats somewhat and modeled the story line around him with twice the content the game would of could have been stellar. It fell way south of that unfortunately. I'm bummed I have to say. So much potential yet soooo disappointing.
