A good story, well developed. Gorgeous graphics, as well as VO and soundtrack. Very good suspense atmosphere.
Scenes with the lost souls are really neat and well made.

HOS are well balanced, not really interactive, without much challenge - even with a few objects hard to see - because the hint fills fast, even in the hard mode.
Some mini games are pretty fun, others not so much.

No map or journal, but is not a problem since there is not much coming and going.
I really like games of this genre / theme (ghosts, lost souls, haunted places), but The Island of Lost Souls, despite being fun and entertaining, it's kind of slow compared to the others, sometimes tires waiting.
I recommend this game!
Once upon a time in the small, undistinguished town of Silentville people started disappearing. Help uncover the mystery behind these disappearances and save the town from a curse!

Very attractive and well developed story, especially because the cutscenes bring how was the disappearance of each character.
Good crisp graphics, made with care, as well as VO and pleasant soundtrack.
Many locations to explore, with good level of challenge. Sometimes we do not know where to go. But ... it has a good map, and a journal - and hint takes you to where you have to interact.

Really interactive HOS, for example, to get the cheese you have to remove the mouse, which will be placed near a cat, which is also hidden.Or put together parts of objects, or even actions like extinguishing a candle.

Custscene at beginning already holds you: divers found a shipwreck and the skeleton of a famous pirate of the past.
Starting at the museum, going to the ship and then to the island, this excellent game takes you on an incredible pirate story, very well developed and attractive, with outstanding scenes, sound and VO. A great adventure... and even some scares!

Interactive HOS, with good visibility, but if you want you can play mahjong instead. Several and varied mini games, and even the popular bring news - a lot of fun.
Both HOS and mini games are not very challenging, but are nice and entertaining.
During the game objects in the inventory are quickly used and not stored too long, but still have enough coming and going.

To play Dark Alleys was like being inside a thriller !
Great suspense story : a kidnapping in a sinister place, where murders (with an ax,) took place half century ago!
Outstanding cutscenes with real people, perfect VO and excellent sountrack ! You feel in a movie theater.

The game is listed as HO, but is totally different from the usual scenes full of objects - is more an adventure game, and as you go along, you will finding and using things that go into inventory . One great thing is that not has to be going back and forth too much.
It has mini games, some already known, but with different details and difficulties - like put together electrical wires, but in a brand new way! Really enjoyable.
It has a box where you store the tapes you are going collecting ... and MUST watch !

There are three difficult modes- casual, hard and advanced.
I played in hard mode and, although not very challenging, the game is incredibly motivating, fun and entertaining.

I had played the free trial of the CE, butit ended after 40 minutes. Now I will buy the SE.
I recommend this game!

Excellent storyline, great cutscenes with amazing voice over, very nicely done graphics, very appropriate soundtrack.

I bought this game in 2009 ... Today I played again ... What a disappointment! Could not play more than 15 minutes!
Excessive HOS, not challenging. Mini games easy.
No dialogue or story that keeps attention.
Anyway, comparing the games developed nowadays, it has become obsolete.

Graphics are ok, VO is well made, but too much talk, music is very tiring - endlessly repeats the same.
Only one level of difficulty - and pretty easy. You can not skip tutorial - spoken and written !!
HOS are easy, and start with 3 hints. If you find three gold coins on scene, you win one more hint, and, besides being able to use the three when you want, if finishes, fills fast. No penalties to random click.
