I was surprised to find a great game. This game has plenty of adventure. I actually like the fact that the collectibles were so easy to find. Great puzzles & artwork. I did need to figure some needed actions which increased the enjoyment. I will look at the other games in the series now.
Secrets of the Mafia is one of my favorite games. I own all of the others so I couldn't wait to try this one. Unfortunately, even if the artwork improves it still won't match the 1st game. I like adventure, but there wasn't much here. Bishop looked like a tired old man. It's possible that improves also, but it's obvious that overall, this game doesn't measure up to the others. The mini games were challenging, but nothing new. I may try again when the standard edition is issued.
I almost passed up on this gem because I didn't like the first game in this series. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. There is plenty to do. The visual, level of challenge & gameplay are great. Finally, BF seems to be adding more games that have a decent story as well as better gameplay. It's been a while. Give this game a shot. You may just love it as well.

You are trying to rescue your friend who has been abducted. Unfortunately, you are bogged down by several time wasting actions. This game would be greatly improved by simply getting to the action, which is the place where she was taken. It's not quite as bad as all of the experienced detectives who constantly lose the car keys. I do think that a lot of games would be improved by getting to the main part of the story quickly & concentrating on that instead of these minute tasks.
After the demo the game play improves. You are transported to different lands where the imagination comes into play & the game is interesting. The mini games are pretty easy although there are a couple that take time. Hidden objects vary.
Not a bad way to spend an afternoon, but I can't rate this any higher than 3 stars.
This game had a different story line for Christmas which I appreciated! Not every Xmas game has to have a nutcracker. (Die Hard is listed as a Christmas movie). The sounds & visuals were good, but there was a lag in some of the scenes. The hops are varied & the mini game challenge differs as well. Game play moves along with plenty to do & you won't get bored. It didn't take me long, but I will play the game again without skipping some of the minis. All in all I had a nice afternoon:) Try it - you might just find out that you like it, as I did.

Based on the demo. Others have already supplied the story. The premise of the game is interesting although it's a repeat of other games I've played. I did get somewhat frustrated at the time it took to get to the interesting part of the game; but at least there were no keys to look for:) But for instance, you have to find three objects to make a walkie talkie work after you just used it. No real information was gleaned after it was fixed. The developer did make the hops interesting in the variety offered - even switching from placing a part in the same scene to finding one in one instance. The objects were clear and easy to spot for the most part. There are several different chapters all with a different scenario to play out which is interesting. The puzzles were all pretty easy at least in the demo. Graphics in the game were clear & I found only one slightly dark scene. Even in the advanced level the hints filled up pretty quickly. There are collectable morphing figurines & flowers to collect. Since the story itself isn't new then the way it's told needs to grab you & keep you interested. I have purchased games before because the story is intriguing and the graphics were beautiful. I didn't find the game challenging enough for myself, but it would be a good game for beginners.
Nothing even vaguely exciting or challenging in this game. The storyline never went in-depth regarding the psychology enough to make it interesting. I found nothing spooky except the fact that Eipix has sunk so low. Why did the main character react in such an extreme manner? Paranoia? Schizophrenia? Not sure. Why was the child so headstrong? Perhaps loneliness. The plot never struck me as a deep, dramatic or scary. The artwork was okay, but I've seen better in comic books. I found the child's voice extraordinarily irritating. The games & HOs were easy. I could have saved the money & watched a boring afternoon movie. Of course I would just change the channel on drivel like this.
If you have the imagination & don't mind a challenge this is a great game. The storyline is not as smooth as you would like? Or the ending perhaps. I urge you to look at some of the newer games. I just played the demo for one with great reviews that had the same storyline I've seen before, with nothing new to recommend it, but you spend your time with unnecessarily complex chores for the most mundane project. The storyline was quite disjointed.
The games are becoming increasingly too easy & the all the bling in the world doesn't make up for the lack of imagination.
Check this game out before you decide it's worthless based on the reviews

Orchid games has developed such a good game that I wasn't ready for it to end. The story was good, but the way the whole thing was put together makes this an excellent game. You have to use thinking skills in this game. The game is also a lengthy game for a hidden object. I really just want to compliment the developers & I can't wait for the sequel
I'm writing based on the demo. I've been hooked on this series since Dire Grove, but I didn't care for Madame Fate so I wasn't expecting this great game. There are five difficulty levels to choose from; which is the most I've seen to date.
The game grabs you as soon as you start playing. I didn't have a moment when I was not engaged in some way as the play moves along quickly. In the demo alone there were five different locations to explore and the developers worked on giving the mini games a new twist that I appreciated.
If you want to spend your time thinking and exploring more than looking for a lot of hidden objects; then this is a game for you.
You get an elegant cat to help you in this game which you can buy things for in the shop. I bought the most expensive thing right away since she's so obviously sophisticated & expects the best :)
There are also some great sound effects that actually managed to startle me a bit. After all the games I've played I found that refreshing. I rate the graphics a B+.
It is a sequel & I haven't played Madame Fate all the way through so I picked up the storyline from this game. As you can surmise that's not an impediment for this game!
