I can't believe that this was not a CE! It was longer than many CE's I have played, had lots of interesting puzzles and HOPs. The storyline was great with several twists and turns. There is even a Bonus Chapter! There are even some really nice added things in it, such as a pigeon taking a bath in a puddle, or a worm slowly crawling up a wall. Several items are just interactive and you can even turn off some of the things. I hope you play the game and support the work this group did to make it so much fun and enjoyable. There is even a condensed version of a walkthrough that is very helpful as well as a great map. Many kudos to the makers of this game and I'm definitely looking forward to more games from them.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game! I consider myself an intermediate player. If you like a great storyline, new and different kinds of HOS and mini-games and enjoy the game to last a good while, then this is for you. I did not get bored with it the entire time I played it. Even the Bonus game flawlessly added to the game/storyline. The pace was great for me; i did play it on casual, but if you played a harder mode I'm sure the quality would be great. I really like how games are becoming where the HOS are woven into the storyline so well. Navigation was easy with the map and the especially with the hint button. The only "fault" I can think of is the Strategy Guide. There was not a way to get to the table of contents, you just had to "thumb" through it page by page. A bit cumbersome if you needed help finding a collectable, yet wanted to see something in the regular game. There is no help with the morphing objects, but they were found without too much problem. I do hope this company develops more such games.
This was quite a fun game! I'm not a die hard gamer and like to play the games in Casual mode. I like good story-lines and things not too difficult to figure out what to do next. There were plenty of twists and turns, and a good variety of puzzles and games. The Bonus Game was great, and then there were all the Extra Games/Puzzles! I rarely play them, but I did these and am so glad I did; they were really fun! I like the fact if you miss a hidden token/treasure in the game (I had missed 3) you are able to go back to find it in the Extras and complete the extra puzzle. I have had it in the past that I missed only ONE in a game and thus didn't get the extra that came with finding them all. I would definitely recommend this game for others to play, and I'm looking forward to new ones from Mad Head Games.
This game took me by surprise! Lots of twists and turns; Jack was one that I didn't see coming. I only had to ask for help once when I missed finding a path. This game was as long as many CE games, and was intricate enough to keep me forging forward, not wanting to stop. The map was invaluable in keeping it all going. My hat's off to the staff who developed this, it was unlike others. Good and bad, surprises and changes...Don't let this one get by you, I don't think you'll regret it.
I hesitate sometimes getting a game that is not a Collector's game, but this one intrigued me. I am soooo glad I did play this game! It genuinely had new puzzles/HOS's and the storyline was wonderful. Easy to maneuver through the game, thanks to the map. The scenes were a bit dark, but that mostly added to the mysterious nature of the "abandoned" house. The hint button helped a lot when needed, but you still had to think through some of the puzzles to get to the solution. The Book/Journal was different, but I liked how the clues were put in there. I would recommend this game for anyone who likes an adventure. Good going Nevosoft! Job well done.
You came to the town of Brownville, Louisiana hoping to find a new job. But you weren't expecting to stumble upon a strange adventure in a world filled with beauty and danger!
A NEW storyline! Good twists and turns. Fun to figure out what to do. The hints and map were excellent tools for me. I enjoyed the graphics and music, though at times it was a bit too loud when you had to listen to certain puzzles. The comic relief of the magical animal was great as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game! I play for the fun and story, so I usually set the difficulty to Casual. There were unexpected twists and turns and the hidden objects were great. I really enjoyed the puzzles, and the Puzzle Hint was perfect in not letting me get too frustrated when I didn't know what to do next. The Map and hint were fantastic as well. I highly recommend this game. Graphics were great, and there were so many cool things with the Collector's Edition of the game. Well worth the money, for sure, to get the CE version.
A long-forgotten artifact has just resurfaced, and the race to claim it will cause a devastating war. The only thing strong enough to stop it is one woman’s promise to the man she loves.
This game was perfect for me. The storyline was good, with some twists not expected. Though you did have to move around a bit much (no map to transport you) it wasn't too bad, and the transitions were very quick. It played well, and was a nice long game, but I kept playing because I wanted to see what happened next! The bonus chapter was well done, too. I liked that the hint button helped a lot!! HOS's were a bit easy, but it didn't distract from the game. Mini-games were good, too.
Overall I really enjoyed playing this one. Can't wait to see what they do next!
This game was truly a fantastic game for me. Definitely challenging enough to keep me going (though on a couple puzzles I had to skip). The storyline was fine, and the twists were great. I do hope there will be more in this Spirits of Mystery series if they are made like this one.
