The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I am a HUGE MCF fan. I own all the MCF games and have played each of them atleast 3 or more times. I have been in great anticipation for a new game since last year's Ravenhurst. But this one - I was rather disappointed.
Pros:
Except for Lea Thompson's poor acting - I liked the "live" actors, especially the host of the paranormal show - reminded me of Cris Angel.
The storyline was interesting. I like dark stories and I have to say I jumped outta my skin a few times!
The HO were pretty easy to fiind.
The music didn't get on my nerves.
I liked the art and thought it was done nicely.
LOVED the map - easy to get around places.
Hint button recharged quickly.
LOVED the reference to Madame Fate in the Plinko game!!
Cons:
Lea Thompson. 'Nuff said on that.
The floating squares got on my last nerve. Thank goodness the "skip" button came up quickly.
After reading some of the reveiws I feel jipped because I didn't know there was a "bonus" morph find at the end of the story.
I didn't like the fact (spoiler) that there was nothing to do at the quarry - did I miss something?? And if I didn't - why even have it in the story??
I didn't like that it didn't have an "unlock bonus" section like you have in most Collector's Edition. I felt I just played the Standard Edition.
Took me around 6 hours to play. Was hoping for a longer time.
The SG wasn't all that. Did someone get lazy?
All in all - it was enjoyable just not what I expected. Would I purchase another MCF if it came out - yeah, I would. I just hope the creators would pick something original but stick to the stuff that worked before (i.e. Madame Fate, The Ravenhurst saga, Dire Grove). So save your $$ and purchase the SE. You'll enjoy it better knowing you didn't spend $13.99 on it.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
At first, I thought this was going to be one of those "creepy, abandonded hospital, find the psycho or lost kid" dark-type game. After I started playing it and realized it wasn't - I surely wasn't disappointed! The storyline in the beginning grabbed my attention and I enjoyed the "live" action people. I liked the fact that most of the items you had to find had to do with the story. I also liked the fact that in the Bonus Game - you got the whole story from the father's point of view. My most favorite part was looking at the "Behind the Scenes" footage - I find it interesting on how the game is put together by those who made the game. Most HO games I play - I play them and then forget about them, but this one I will return to, to play again! GoGii - you produced a wonderful HOG!!

Loved the story line - but after 3 hours, the game was over. There were places in the house I wish had to do with the game - to add more mystery. There could have been so much more potential to this game. I really enjoyed the HO and puzzles, just wish it was longer!
I was a "Beta Tester" on this game. I really didn't get the connection of the town, then having to go to the spooky boat - where it had to do with the sandman. Some of the items were hard to find and I had to use the "hint' button one too many times to find things. I am glad I was a "Beta Tester" because I wouldn't spend $$ on it if it was $1.00.
I don't recommend this game.

I was a "Beta Tester" for this game and I gave it a pretty good review. It is a great game for beginners into HOG's. I agree that the dialog is a bit much, but the game is trying to be just like the show. The objects are pretty easy to find, and the music doesn't get on your nerves. Again, if you like/love the show, you'll love the game. I happen to love the show and I enjoyed playing. Paying the member price of $6.99 is a good price and it's a good "fill in your time" game. If you don't like the show, antiqueing, or reading dialog, you may want to skip it.
I recommend this game!

Even though I am a HOG fanatic, I felt needed a change of pace, so I thought I'd give "Scratches" a try. I like spooky and after reading the reviews and synopsis to the story I thought, "Eh, what the heck."
I was able to master some of what I needed to do - other times I had to "cheat" and follow the walkthrough. There were a couple of times that I literally "jumped" and at the end, my hair was standing on end with goosebumps to match!
The "real life" graphics and the 360 look-about made the story even more interesting. And found myself very involved in the story line. I would recommend anyone who has motion sickness to use the "slideshow" mode, though.
However, I am left with a couple of questions (and I may be slow here) but who was that person at the end of the story? Robin? James? Christopher? And I didn't get the "years later" story that I saw that someone else got. Was it because I chose the "Director's Cut" and not the "regular" game? If any one has the answers, please let me know. Thanks!
All in all - I'd recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries, spooky atmosphere and has to use their noggin to figure things out!
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
Okay...it's 2:43 am and I started playing this game at 10:30 pm. I am forcing myself to go to bed! SPOILER ALERT: Charles's mother grossed me out - but I'm laughing as I'm performing the tasks! Best MCF game EVER!!! The morphing doesn't bother me a bit. The creepiness from the former Ravenhearst is a walk in the park compared to this game. LOVE the dark theme! Good Job guys!!!!!
Loved the story line - it wasn't so hard that I couldn't figure it out but made me think - I liked the "having to do something" in order to find the object. It was just creepy enough to keep my attention!
I, like RainyDayzGrrl, have a thing for HOGs that deal with asylums and have a dark, creepy theme. This wasn't as creepy as some I have played (Haunted Hills: Asylum Consp. for example). I did play it through, but, if I had never played it, I wouldn't have lost any sleep over it.
