I have all the Roads of Rome series and love them. That is, except this first one which I denied myself because people commented there was no relaxed mode. No buy for me. I thought I'd try my skills in normal mode this week while I was going through the series again and downloaded it only to discover that there is a Change Mode on first page and therefore a relaxed mode option so I have now bought the game after all these years and loving it. It also works on Windows 10.

I have loved playing this game. I completed it yesterday which is probably a record as to my shame I do tend to weary of match 3 games after a while and forget about them. It's the first one I've completed in this category. I was therefore tentative about buying this one but I am so glad I did. I'm not bothered about a storyline although building between levels is okay but not essential to me. I dislike games which have puzzles and HOGS between levels. I never use my speakers when playing a game as I have my own music as a background. I play relaxed. Not only is it more relaxing but more challenging to me. I may be in the minority here but I love searching for the most strategic match like the X4 and X5 matches or where to use the power ups that come down the board. I also find it a challenge to see how far I can get in the game without using any of the power ups at the bottom right as and when they appear. That is what I find most pleasurable. I'd find it boring to just beat the clock. In the later stages of this game there are some big boards so it's quite challenging getting the artefacts to the bottom and releasing all the tiles. That is one special feature I like about this game. It records at the bottom left how many tiles are still to be found. It's so useful to know that. The other feature I like is the hanging barrel on your cursor when you run out of matching tiles. As the game progresses this is a lifeline as you can cure a lot of problems with it. My only tiny gripe is when you are stuck and can't find a match the tipster or hint mechanism could be a little better defined. I find it hard to spot especially on the big boards. Buying power ups in the shop is an interesting addition which I kept forgetting to explore! But it's a good idea as I'm currently trying it out on the Greece travel game. I have skipped the India game in the series as there is no relaxed mode which is essential the way I prefer to play. I love the big clear attractive tiles in the game and the backgrounds. It looks amazing on a widescreen PC. Thank you for days of great entertainment.

I love this kind of resource collection game. This one has particularly cute graphics. There isn't a relaxed mode but thankfully there is a star system of one to three. I'm personally not bothered about achieving three stars but it does allow you to finish the game and return to try for a better score if you wish. I enjoy just relaxing with this game although there is plenty to do. It has the BEST recovery of resources I have ever seen in one of these games even without using the buttons below so it goes quite fast even for a snail like me. Initially I was concerned about the clunky cursor but I got used to it quickly and it didn't affect the game. Can't comment on sounds or music as never have speakers on. Cracking little game! I shall enjoy playing this one for years.

I was delighted to welcome Hero Of The Kingdom 11. With help from reviews (thank you to all who contributed), the help button at bottom right and false starts I finally finished it. I thoroughly enjoyed it but made the initial mistake of restarting because I'd run out of money, then I became more resourceful and found ways of making money. The best way to avoid bankruptcy (after a second attempt) I decided was to keep making bread as soon as I had enough money and steadily make it all the way through. I also didn't sell any of the crabs so they could be used later in the game to feed that greedy fellow in the square. I was cautious about selling anything and everything but after two attempts I have a better idea what may be needed later in the game. Playing it a second time was much more fun as I knew where to find all the places. It's a harder, longer game than the first one and a tremendous challenge. The "treasures" are much clearer than in the first game. The graphics are superb and the detail has kept me fascinated. The sewers and catacombs were a living nightmare to navigate - frustrating but great fun so not knocking it. I would have preferred more people to help, more tasks and to be paid money for my labours. The caves could have been more fruitful too unless I just didn't find everything. Thank you for this game!!! Tremendous and I only got 40 of the 48 awards so back to the drawing board. I can scarcely wait for version 111.
I confess I can't wait for the next game in this series which I know is under construction. A totally brilliant game which I have played endless times. It is well thought out and although the boy - main character is a bit frustrating with the amount of sleep he needs it is such a challenge to find all the resources to complete the tasks. Initially. the help pages on BF were welcome and thanks to those who contributed by solving all the mysteries of how to do certain things. The help at the bottom right was also a great innovation if you got stuck. The map was also a great help as I did initially get confused with all the different areas and learning where all the commodities were to be found. Excellent game.
I recommend this game!

My preference is for Adelantado 3 in the Trilogy. This is mainly because there is a way to get rid of the dinosaurs and cavemen. This was my favourite game of 2014 alongside Finders, Northern Tale 1-4 and Hero Of The Kingdom. I also liked series 3 as all the problems were sorted out. The resources didn't have to be clicked twice as in the first one. I loved looking for the secrets. A brilliant innovation and some of them were delightfully well hidden which created a challenge in itself. Thank you for this brilliant game. It was so amazingly well thought out.

I have the full set of this game series and must comment that they got it right from the very first Northern Tale. It is meticulously worked out so the resources are available. The graphics are superb and the characters absolutely enchanting. It takes some skill to navigate as you have to prioritise which resources and updates to carry out. There are no glitches or flaws in any of the games. I have this game on ipad too - also brilliant. I like that it has three modes of difficulty so you can decide if you fancy a relaxing game or a challenge. These four games have kept me entertained for years. If there was a version 5 I'd be so thrilled. Of them all the 4th is probably the biggest challenge as there's a lot to do on each level.
I recommend this game!

This game has kept me entertained since it came out. It is my favourite with Adelantado Trilogy. I keep hoping there will be a further Finders but dismayed by other reviews and perhaps it wasn't popular enough for a second one. It does require a certain amount of patience and determination initially but worth the effort. Every game can be played differently and the only thing I'm not keen on is the aerostat but the rest of the game is pure magic, relaxing, and full of strategic decisions. I didn't really see the need for any further instructions but I admit the review questions on here were useful when I first played the game so thanks to everyone who submitted them. If there was another one I would love to see little secrets to find as in Adelantado trilogy like hidden extra resources, buried gold, wood etc as well as the hidden mushrooms, herbs etc. Please make another!
I recommend this game!

I really love playing this TM game even though it is incredibly slow to load between games. I guess there's a lot to load when you see the detail. It's worth the wait. but i would prefer 2 levels of difficulty - relaxed and timed rather than just allow you time to finish the game but that doesn't put me off. Its neither too hard or too easy as it stands. Chain actions would be good too which you only get if you risk spending out on more workers. Wow do those workers spin round the page! Intriguing watching them clear trees, put out fires and rebuild the town. Brilliant graphics. This game and Island Tribe 2 are my fave TM games.
