I was so immersed!! Down to earth, feet on the ground fun! Not a lot of crazy looking things going onto other crazy looking things. That's what made it so believable! LOVE the story line and the way the creators drew me into it!! I believed what I was doing; becoming breathless a few times, trying to hurry!
Would love to play more Bonfire Stories! My fav use to be anything MCF. Way to go Mariaglorum!!!
The game did have a lot of subtitling/reading but adventure games probably should; hence, "adventure." I did like some of the methods of play (original) and the graphics were nice. BUT some of the HOP's were too, uh, HOP. The one where the tree stump has the objects to find is too difficult to make out and you have to scroll around on screen to find the objects. I did not realize this at first; therefore, stared at the screen for a while. I suppose arrows, like other games use, would have been helpful.
The game was ok. It wasn't bad. As I have said before though, not just anyone can create a game. This game did not convince me that the developers/creators even play games themselves. I am sure they play their game but not so sure they play as hobby. They would understand what I mean if they did.
The game was too loud with environmental sounds. Also, I don't feel like the main game was long enough. The "talk" lengthened it so it seemed longer but actually, it was not a very long "play."
Well, this game proves that not just anyone can "develop" a good game. Dark Parables is now disappointing to say the least. I'm going to finish the game because I paid for it, but not enjoying it much at all. It is too full of bleeps and blunders. Storyline is good enough; graphics better than some but not nearly as good as past; navigation - meh, nothing special. It's vague about "things to do." The prompts help, but needs to be better. Selecting things is a pain; we have to be too precise, making this game stink. I had to guess too often on what I was trying to accomplish. I'm probably not going to buy another "DP."
After being contacted by a secret organization of elite mystery solvers, you're sent out in the field to prove your skills. This job interview may be your last!
In a lot of games the English is messed up; in this game, it is perfect! The HOPs are good fun; graphics and storyline are great!
BUT some of the puzzles are aggravating. Not in the sense that I could not figure out what to do or how to do it, but that accomplishing that was crazy. The item(s) did not want to "move" easily. This is not acceptable and caused me to skip and I really did want to try to solve these puzzles but not to the extent of a stress headache.
The game would have received a perfect 5 if not for this.
The game was not as clear about what to do with what as it should have been. Like the dark crevice in the mountain world. I didn't even know the game wanted light there. It was things like that throughout the game that made it just ok.
Challenge yourself in the role of the scientist-historian-scholar of ancient civilizations and mystical legends and save your friend from the Demon of Darkness!
Eh, found a handle and tried to put it where it said I would need a handle, but it wouldn't take it. There was another spot at the same time that needed a handle as well. Also, too many things to find, get and need all at once and not enough help pointing in the right direction. I guess the makers want us to have to get the strategy guide. Not impressed with that. Beautiful graphics! Great sounds! But I wanted to play and relax. Too frustrating.
Lost too much of the time; no help or walkthrough when stuck; nice graphics but not the best; boring, don't quite know what is up or what I am suppose to be doing except finding things and doing puzzles. HOS are ok - not too bad but bored now and sick of trying to figure out what to do. I have been in every scene now and all of them tell me "nothing to do here." so, I'm out! trashed.
