I loved the first edition of this game and play it often. I was excited to try this one and was really bummed that it has a timer than can't be turned off. For me, that ended it. Timers are fine for some but at least give us the option of turning it off.
Why do they have to make EVERY ONE of the types so that you can't turn off the hi-lighting. When the areas to paint turn grey it makes it way too easy. Why can't these developers add in a way to turn it off if you don't want the extra help. It's really annoying. Where is the fun if they tell you where to click all the time. It's a "no buy" for me which is a shame because I really liked everything else about it.

I don't understand why these paint by number games do not have a way to turn off the hi-lighting of the areas to color. It takes all of the fun out of it. I refuse to pay good money for any more of these.

My pet peeve about these games is that it high-lights the spot you need to put each color and you can't turn this feature off as far as I could see. When I do paint by number, part of the fun is looking and trying to figure out where each color goes. Why would I need to be told where each color goes, there are numbers for that. I understand some people like that but please have some way to turn it off. Everything else about the game is really nice. I liked the slide bar and the other functions, etc. I'm not sure I recommend this game but I do recommend you try it.
If you have ever played "A Series of Unfortunate Events" than you have played this game. I loved the "Events" game so I am real happy to see this new version for something different. It also has a little bit more complicated boards. A few little tips: If you write click on one of the clues it will hi-lite all the possible options on the game board. Then you can right click on the items on the left side that's not possible and it will remove them. The potions don't do anything but they are a nice little cute side of the game. If you love logic, you will love this game.

I thought this was going to be a word game but it's not. You just jump from tile to tile to make them disappear. It's kind of like the peg games where you jump around and take the pegs away. I found it boring and annoying. Some might find it fun but it's not for me.

First of all I thought the graphics were really nice and I loved the different features like the power boosters and the question mark cards but........ The problems I ran into way out weigh the good stuff. I found it very jumpy and jerky. I would click on the cards and nothing would happen. Very annoying. The clincher that will stop me from buying the game is that you can't turn off the music without turning off ALL of the sound. I have two rules for any game I purchase, NO MUSIC and NO TIMERS. There isn't any timer but the music got me. I had decided not to purchase even before the clicking problem started.
This game has a good story line and beautiful graphics. Plays really smooth. It also has a new feature not seen it this type of game before. It has a locked card that has to be unlocked by getting a string of 5 or more cards. That was fun and different.
Now for the reason for 3 stars. I bought the game this morning and literally finished it in 3 hours. I played each of the hands till I got a perfect score on each one of them so it's not like I just ran through it to see how fast I could finish it. It seemed way to easy to get those perfect scores. The story was also very short which allowed the quick finish. I expect a sol game to be longer than 3 hours.
In short, I recommend it for the graphics and ease of play but if you are looking for a challenge, you won't find it here.
I recommend this game!

What can I say. I was very disappointed. The game was very, very short for this type of game. I finished it in under 2 hours. You only control one character. There were not battles that you actually participated in. The dialogs basically told you where to go and what to do for the next action. There were treasure chests that could not be opened. The story line was good but way too simple. The quests were so simple you don't even realize you are doing them. I'm sorry I wasted a credit on this one. I would say this could be for kids except there were a couple of puzzles that would cause them frustration. I have played a lot of RPG games and this was one of the most disappointing.
