I am used to hints and maps and such, but this one only has hints for hidden objects and only a certain number of them. No map and no real idea where to go sometimes. I had to use a walkthrough a few times. The hidden object games are brutal, but I managed to make it thru them with few hints. The nastiest ones are in the shadows/dark. I think that is totally unfair, but what the heck. Also I had to click on some several times to get them to be found which is also unfair. In any case I finished it unaided by the walkthrough. There were no hints so I was on my own. A very challenging game to say the least and highly recommended.
I recommend this game!

This has been the most frustrating MCF I have ever played. I had to use the map and strategy guide a lot and even then it was confusing in places. The worst is the map shows actions to be taken where none exist. A puzzle hint will tell you to look somewhere for a clue and there are none present. I could not finish one super puzzle because it wouldn't accept the correct solution. On top of it all the thing is overly long and things have no correlation to each other in many cases and that is when I had to use the strategy guide. I actually started this thing 4 times and finally finished it on the 5th start. I did not see it as fun. But being the masochist that I am, I will try it at some point of time for the 6th time. It is definitely a challenge!!
This is my favorite Spellarium, finally they are getting it. I love to play in the relaxed mode. I don't care about time, just love figuring out what to do next. The first 2 games were spoiled for me because the lady bugs would blurp off on their own and the rockets would appear for NO REASON! I hated that. This one still does it, but only occasionally, that is fantastic to me. I hope S4 gets rid of the spontaneous actions all together in the relaxed mode. I would love to see 1 and 2 redone without the spontaneous actions and would be glad to rebuy them. The card game, hidden objects and match games are excellent and love to play them. Also hoping new games with more variations.
I love this game, but it has the same failure as the first one. I have no need to play the timed game and play the relaxed. I hate the fact that while I am thinking out my moves, all of a sudden rockets appear and lady bugs fly away. It ruins the whole thing, I am not doing it, the game is just self destructing. What is the fun of that? But for that it would be a great game.

I like to play in relaxed mode but don't want rockets and beetles going off on there own. I want to be able to make them do it on my own. I found it was like cheating when rockets spawned or beetles left during the game.
I don't understand the bad reviews. This is the first game, I like so much, I read all the end credits. The puzzles were doable for a change, some of the multiple puzzles in others are so arcane, I have to skip, not this one. I love the indicator that tells you if you got the puzzle piece or not, I can never remember. The storyline is excellent, better than many wishywashy ones that are an afterthought. MCF has always been my favorite and it still is.
This is the hardest game puzzles, I've ever encountered. After 1/2 hour, I would skip. I will play again and conquer them. I couldn't figure out 1/2 of them. Storyline was good and there was a twist even. What I liked it had different albeit difficult puzzles and I had to go to the walkthru to figure out one thing which was not intuitive in any sense. The hidden objects were uniquely done too.
My first casual game was an MCF, can't remember the title but I have always found them to be on the cutting edge. This game is no different. New and challenging puzzles and even a game to get into the extras, neat idea.

Haunted Legends: The Iron Mask Collector's Edition
Explore 17th-century France as you track down a masked killer.
This has been about the hardest game I've ever played, the puzzles are great, some were very different than any I've seen. The interesting part is some are just real easy and you don't expect them to be. Throws you off. I am going to play this again as I didn't realize I had to get horseshoes till I was further in the game and didn't get them all. I did have a glitch in one of the HOPs. What I did was quit than restart and the problem was solved. I think it was my computer. That was in the bonus chapter which is just as good as the game.
I finally got all the morphing objects in a game. I really liked this game because it had several puzzle types I've never seen before and a variation on match 3 at the end that was especially challenging. I only have one nit and that is the secret room. I collected the hats and nothing happened further. That is why I only gave 4 for Fun Factor.
