If you are looking for a relaxing yet challenging game with gentle humor and imagination, this is one to try. The art work and music are lovely and lend an authentic fairy story atmosphere. Your task is to help a friendly gnome while finding out more about gnomes and Hodgepodge Hollow, home to many enchanted beings. Creating and using potions is central to the game as is finding the necessary ingredients which are hidden in scenes you will be guided to. This is appropriate for any age but likely will not be appreciated by those who enjoy fast paced, violent, or 'realistic' games. There is no violence, no clock to beat, no impossible odds. It is a perfect game to share with young children since they may be as good (or better) at spotting hidden objects. It is witty, sometimes silly, and charming enough to appeal to anyone who enjoys a good fairy tale.
I recommend this game!

Path To Success
Set out in search of your place in the sun in Path to Success! It's your life! What are you going to do with it?
I tried to like this game but it offers very little that is new in the category of life simulation challenge games. The art work is kind of ho-hum with very stereo-typed choices of character bodies and heads. The 'friend challenge' part of the game offers nothing new either and lacks the humor of "Life Quest". Career paths are sort of thought out but wages for jobs can vary from reasonable to ridiculous, some bearing no similarity to real-world rates of pay. The school system in the game is not well thought out; the "Life Quest" schools are much easier to understand and navigate. Choices of clothing and furniture also suffer from lack of variety and odd restrictions such as the inability to buy a house plant until you actually own a house! You can have a dog or a cat in your cheap apartment but no plants? The banking concept was one of the few new ideas but, again, bore little resemblance to actual banking or interest rates. It is more like a stock market where you always make money. A 'flying saucer' periodically floats around the town, but seems to be simply a random distraction that adds nothing. The game also has a 'cheaper is sometimes better' ploy which can be frustrating until you learn to watch out for it. I had hoped I would discover something more interesting after completing a few games but it just becomes boring and tedious. It just isn't as fun or funny as 'Life Quest'.
I don't recommend this game.

I usually don't like time management games but this is a nice change and a challenge plus lots of humor! These are smarter than your average sheep but they still need your help to guide them to the gold. I love the cut scenes too. It has a nice little 'building' segment which allows the player to take a break between levels. Even if you are not a big fan of time management/strategy games but like silly fun, give this one a try!
I recommend this game!

This is for those who enjoy games that you just "drop in on" to play a few times a day. It consists of doing up keep, collecting resources, and developing your islands and enjoying the music your little monsters perform. You also can see what others are doing with their monster islands. If you want to learn or practice patience, than you may find it suits this objective. If you just want to solve problems and shoot stuff, and cannot stand waiting for things to happen then this probably isn't for you. If you like music than this should also be fun because what you are building is an orchestra (or band if you prefer)! People complain that it isn't really free, since you have the option of spending real money to speed things up. It's all up to you however, you can spend money and grow fast or you can take your time and watch things unfold.
I recommend this game!

I loved the Jules Verne novel this game is based around so that was a big draw. I also enjoy games that rely on real knowledge and can teach me something while I play. As a fan of Syberia, the game mechanics were familiar and I think a bit easier to figure out. One thing I really like is that there is often more than one way to achieve your objective. Trying to figure out a use or alternate use for the things you find may give you bonus points and adds to the replay value. There is also a sense of humor in the story, along with unexpected consequences! More games like this one please!

I like these sorts of old school fantasy games a lot! This one doesn't make it too obvious what to do, you have to talk to people to get clues. You don't have to leave the starting village to trigger the quests but it's okay if you do wander around a bit. If you don't want to fight when you are weak you can escape most enemies. I am enjoying it very much so far and wondering what the end will be like!
I recommend this game!

Apparently the original Syberia was chopped up into smaller segments. It is a fascinating game if you haven't played it before but there is nothing new here for those who have the original game! The interface was tweaked to be a little more user-friendly (without being too dumbed down) so that's something positive!
