It appears that I am odd-man out here... Hated it.
I have all of the original series.. I was invited to beta test this so-called "new" game in the series, and quickly discovered that it is merely a reboot of the original, and a very poor reboot at that.
The voice acting is vastly inferior to the original. The graphics are inferior as well, and tend to be choppy at times.
There is a lot that could have been done here, and this is truly a missed opportunity to advance the series forward.
I see that at least this is now being presented as a reboot, which is a good thing.

Note: I play this series, and usually enjoy the installments.
This is based on the completed se game...
Graphics, very good. Voice acting, very good.
Storyline: The opening scene is very well done, and the player is anticipating a quality game... The game then becomes somewhat confusing, with unclear goals. The the game devolves into more-or-less aimless wandering, solving puzzles and HOPs...
I have not said this about a game in a long time, but this game further devolves into a sort of mind-numbing tedium.
I don't know why this installment misses the target so completely, but miss it does, and the player keeps playing, hoping that it will somehow get better (it doesn't).
So, as much as I wanted to like this game, I simply do not. I think that they had a good idea, but it simply failed to gel.

This would be a four star game for me, EXCEPT that the storyline has a major disconnect in it towards the end of the game, and the storyline suddenly makes absolutely no sense. It is like reading a book that has a chapter missing at the three quarter mark, and when the story picks up again, the reader is lost..
I do like this series, and am sorry to see this problem. The quality is as usual for this series, in other words, high.
The graphics are good, storyline original, but that is not enough to save this game from it's utterly cringe worthy, over the top voice acting. This is especially true about the actor portraying the brother. This is a "no buy" for me, even as a daily deal.
