There are too many games out there to play this one which gives you no direction. You are constantly trying to figure out what you need to do. EX: Why doesn't the Smithy work for me I have the correct number of resources to buy the item? Oh, I am sorry I need to make a potion first. And just how in the world would I know this! So while you are trying to figure out what the heck you are suppose to be doing your stars are ticking away. So sorry I bought this game. What a waste of my money. Deleted game from my Game Manager.
Very disappointing! I was looking for a game to bring me up to get a free game and tried this one as I love TM Games. What is the point in having you do the same thing over and over again. Cut the vines, fill the hole - oh yikes, the vines have grown back, cut the vines, go collect silver, yikes THE VINES HAVE GROWN BACK AGAIN. Then the next level everything is on fire and as quick as you put them out they spread right back. Not enough building plots to gather silver so all you do is put out fires and try to get to the hut so you can gather silver but the fire you just put out has spread again. Sorry, I just don’t get the point! I do not recommend and a no buy for me.
I agree with the other reviewers. I really enjoyed this game too. I liked that there were different games to play if you got tired of playing one type you could switch over to a jigsaw puzzle or a matching or even a type of match 3. I bought it and I recommend it; as always though try the free demo to make sure it is for you.
Let me start with I would have never downloaded the game if I had known it was a limited move game. I prefer the timed modes where you are allowed to set up your moves and get your power ups on the board. To me there is no challenge if you are not trying to beat the clock. There is a relaxed mode where there is no limit to your moves, boring. Also one my pet peeves in a Match 3 - you cannot make matches while tiles are falling. You have wait for the board to come to rest. I will say the way the levels change is pretty cool. The Sarcophagus move around a circle and the chains break off for the next level. I was also confused at first as to how to get back to the game after you bought a power up. At first I was having to go back to the menu then to the level. I finally realized the pyramids on the city board were numbered and all you had to do was click on the pyramid and it took you back to the game. All in all the visuals were great but I found the game lacking since there was no timed mode. If you like limited move games I believe this game will be a buy for you, sadly a no buy for me. As always try the demo and decide for yourself.
This is like the Gnome Garden Games. I like the Gnome Garden Games and I always play on Casual level. I play the level until I get three stars. That is the fun of the game to me, to figure out how to navigate the board and finish with three stars. This game does not give you that option. There is a choice of very difficult or no timer. There is no in between. Like Gnome Gardens this is basically a flat map you play on. I wish this game and the other Gnome Gardens had a better landscape to play on. Come on developers use a little creativity. If you decide to buy I suggest you wait for the SE version as I see nothing here to justify the price of a Collectors Edition. There is not even a Strategy Guide. There are 20 Achievement Trophies to earn but I am guessing those will be available in the SE version. Therefore for me this is a no buy but try the demo and decide for your self.
I really like this game and it is a buy for me. Someone said it is like the Hercules series and I see a few similarities but not the same to me. It is a slower moving game. It is a Build and Gather TM (build/repair sawmills, farms, quarries, etc.) and I like those. There is a Bard’s House that you build and whenever you send a worker there workers are sped up for a time. There is a relax mode for those who do not like the timer but there are a lot of resources available so even in the timed mode I find I had plenty of time to finish the tasks and get 3 stars. This may become more challenging as I get further in the game but for now not a problem. I thought the graphics were good and believe the developers hit a home run but in the sequel I would like to suggest it be a little more challenging, maybe add a third mode for more experienced players? I recommend this game if you like TM Games and are looking for a relaxing fun game play.
Wow, I have all the Imperial Island Games and was excited when I saw this offered today. I thought ”Oh yea, a Buy for Me”! I am so glad I played the demo as I was so wrong. This game is entirely different from the other Imperial Island Games. I guess the developers have never heard the saying “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. To start with limited moves. I do not like and do buy limited move games. But that is just the beginning as this game is now like all the other Match 3 games that have been showing up lately. Pick a bonus, limited moves, cartoonish and just plain uninteresting. In fact at times the game plays itself. It doesn’t even need you. So sad as this was a great game now just a clone of all others. An absolute “No Buy for Me”.
I did not like this game. First off every time I tried to change colors it would not move to another color. I had to put my cursor on the color and click, click, click until it would change. Second I could not get the sides of the picture to enlarge. When I enlarged the picture so I could read the number it only got larger in the middle it would not let me navigate to the sides. I never did figure out how to color and entire area with a double click?? That just did not happen when I doubled clicked. Maybe if they brought the forums back like they were before I could grab some hints. I will never understand why BF took that away. I loved that feature. Too much work for them I assume since someone has to monitor it! Lord forbid they had to actually do some work for all the money we spend on their games!
I cannot think of one positive thing to say about this game. It is slow, slow, slow. You cannot queue tasks ahead of time and it has an annoying voice that says things like “No Way” if you try to. When you hover over a task to see how many resources you need to complete the task you have to be spot on or it does not give you the bubble with the required amounts. I would say trying to find the right spot is a time waster but you have plenty of time while you wait on your slo-mo natives to finish the task they are on and get back to the hut! I do not know if you can earn bonuses because I did not make it that far. I could only take so much before I exited the game. This could have been a cute game but it is way outdated. Strategy Games (gather and build games) should and do move so much quicker now than this game does which leads me to believe this is not a new release. Maybe for Big Fish but not for the game. I do not recommend not even for children.
Do you own Pretty Snails or Pretty Snails 2? If so you own this game. The concept is exactly the same, limited moves to remove a certain number of colored tiles or move items to the bottom of the board. Even the power ups are the same and are expensive. The story line is almost nonexistent. Nothing at the beginning and as far as I can tell they give you a few story boards after every 10 levels. I only went to level 20 before I quit. Unlike Pretty Snails there are no hidden objects to be found as you move through the levels but like most Match 3 Games the levels become harder as you progress. I own Pretty Snails and have never played to the end or had a desire to replay the game so a No Buy for me. If you own Pretty Snails skip this one and go back and play Pretty Snails again if not give it a try as you might like it but also try Pretty Snails before you buy as there is more of a story line in that game and has the added hidden objects along the way through the levels.
