************* MAY CONTAIN A SPOILER*****************
TO DATE, This series remains my favorite. This is the 1st game in the series and #’s 1 & 3 are the ones I like most. The storylines are so unusual and so well thought out that you really want to help each character. Each new chapter becomes an adventure.
It is 2016 now and I have not seen a story this great SINCE this series! I bought the CE's of, and played the other 2 in this series as well. The graphics are crystal clear in all the games.
Keep in mind with the newer computers though; you need to adjust the graphics in OPTIONS by unchecking the widescreen box. You will lose a little of space- and have a 1" black bar on either side of the screen, but it clarifies the graphics and the scene is no longer stretched out to fill the screen. It is also important to point out.... this has the list type of hidden object scene. Some items you find multiples of and some items require additional steps. I still love the "list type" of hidden object scene the most. Most of the newer games --WHY- I will never know-- have the silhouette type, which I can’t stand; you can never tell what the object is. The only thing that could make these 3 games better would have been a portal, fast travel- tasked map. Sadly, none of the older games had those.
Each chapter --in all the games in this series-- is a little short story about how you are reincarnated into a prior life and you must redo that lifetime over. THESE STORIES ARE INCREDIBLE, And super innovative! I use the plural because each Chapter has its own little story that ties up at the end of it’s chapter. The story can truly make or break a casual game for me. I am so tired of evil queens or flying fantasy creatures. I can't stand the monster-smoke dude that invades a town either. So this series is so refreshing to play.
I have played casual games for YEARS.... and tested everything that EVERY DEV. at BFG has put out here. So I feel confident I have seen pretty much all there is as far as storylines, the good and the bad.
I just keep crossing my fingers, that someday, the DEV will grow tired of the same story lines and make a new version of this series.
This game has a REALLY FUN, and helpful DIARY. You need to take the time to read this diary, with each new chapter....because there are little added quotes and details that push each chapter’s story. There are also terrific quotes.
In one chapter you go to the past, in China. This game has some of the best mini games I have ever played. One is with a flute, and colored notes and tones. Another is a Tea Ceremony. And finally, another of my favorites is one with a loom and you use yarn to create a matched pattern.
MY FAVORITE CHAPTER IN THE GAME: Is definitely where you play as a little dog that is in love with another adorable dog. It is such a fun level, you leave it feeling happy. Like when you watch a great movie that puts you in a good mood.
HERE ARE SOME OTHER GAMES, VERY SIMILAR TO THIS GAME, AND THIS SERIES:
1. Mysteries of the Mind: Coma --Like the Reincarnation series, you go back in time and fix things while in a coma-- 2. Redemption Cemetery Series -start with the first 1, you are in a cemetery and go through a portal to save a life; each chapter has a new story and person to save. 3. Haunted Halls: Fears in Childhood-each chapter you help a different child overcome a fear. 4. House of 1000 doors series….I highly recommend them all except the last one. 5. Paranormal Pursuit --least like this series on this list, but has another GREAT storyline!
This is really 1 outstanding game of 3 in a really awesome trilogy. All 3 are still absolute favorites of mine.
I am usually one that prefers the creepier paranormal type games but for a change,
This game is a real beauty. It is designed (as others have stated) for the younger set, but it is so beautiful and easily flowing that adults will probably love it too.
IF YOU LIKED THIS GAME..... TRY THESE..... 1. Detective Quest- The crystal slipper -by Elephant gms 2012. 2. Awakening: Moonfell Wood-by Boomzap 2011 3. Unfinished Tales: Illicit Love by Elephant 10-2012 4. and of course the other 2 in the Dark Romance series by Domini Note: These games are somewhat older, but the feel of the game is the same as this and all of them are TRULY GORGEOUS!
There are bright blue skies, flower gardens and flowering trees galore and adorable animals in every scene.
The portal task map is a work of art all by itself....and if you want to re-watch those cutscenes this is where they can be replayed. Characters notes are also in the maps area.
COLLECT- statues, stained glass pieces and feathers. Each has its own page, and the feathers are used to buy things for a bedroom you can "dress up". Kids will love this feature. I would rather have had a screensaver to save to my computer as a reminder of how beautiful the game is and to buy the next segment out of the game.
In one spot the baddy in the game creates a wall of water which covers the scene and fills your monitor which makes your monitor look like an aquarium because of the adorable goldfish that floats through! Such innovation and perfectly executed.
One of the minigames is 3 separate scenes where you match adorable animals. I loved it. This game is like playing in a happy little painting, and the time spent playing it just leaves you in a good mood, like seeing a great movie. Well done! Thank you Domini, and BFG!!!
I love everything about this game! The graphics are great... the mini games are fun and I have always loved the good ol' HOS with plenty of words, some with more than one step.
If you like this try Cruise Director 1 & 2.
I recommend this game!

Based on FULL GAME + bonus play. Here is what you can't see, and after the demo.

fromI think I know where Jefferey Hanson's house is located! Ha ha...
*note to anyone who doesn’t know this…. be sure to always change the “sort by” method on this page to see the NEWEST people, as those are usually the ones that have actually finished the game and not just the demo…. Also. If you “mouse over” or click the Big-fisher’s username, in blue, you can see their other reviews.
The SE portion of the game took me around 5 hours 5min (with an AMAZING END) The bonus play took me, 1hr 5min I play all the HOS- not the match 3 + I tend to skip standard type mini games, and play on custom setting. TOTAL GAMEPLAY with bonus was 6 hr. 5min
This installment 6 of Phantasmat was WAY better than #5. I also liked #4 very much too. FINALLY, the graphics are clearer. Is it me? or are some areas clearer than others? The characters seem like live actors with a computer assist….. They are PERFECT, and I mean these characters are PERFECTLY DONE. They now speak from inside the scene, where they should, instead of putting the head of the person with text up front. The voice actors are perfect too. The graphics are good, not great…but the clarity of the secondary windows and characters are GREAT in this installment.
The ENTIRE game is played in dreary, run-down locations. The locations and feel of the game is VERY similar to Phantasmat #3 The Endless Night. I often wonder WHY do creepy games have to have to be in a run- down dirty place? Being an artist, it bugs me when an area’s perspective is off…. there is a bit of that here. A couple I noticed that are really noticeable are The Hanson home’s front room (the floor rolls down to the right) in Pam’s level of the demo. Also, Chap 2, pg. 5 of WTG looking up the hall, it almost makes you sick.
Where you first drive up is very similar to the game Enigmatis #1. The story line was realistic & creepy. I loved it. The scariest part being, we have a vacation place in Vermont and you drive past many a gas station like this….. And I swear to you there is a house on the opposite side of our mountain that looks identical to the Hanson house!! It is super remote (no cell phones) and it even comes with all its own broken down cars and bus’s!
From the very beginning I had trouble trying to figure out who is who in this game. I ended up mostly understanding by the very end of the SE play…. But had to REPLAY the beginning of the game after I played the bonus to determine Doug and Sammy are traveling in the backseat MY (the female player in SE) car. Apparently I have no name and I am driving us all to “the big game”. Doug is my brother. Pam, and her brother Terry are already captive at the Hanson residence when we arrive at the gas station and my character must save them. Jeffery Hanson is the, ouch- axe holding, serial killer and his creepy mother knows what Jeff is up to and is seen a few times throughout the game. We also meet up with another random guy who has also been held against his will, which we assist, later in the game. I don’t know his name. He is the person after Doug- Chapter 3.
FAVORITE SPOT IN GAME IS CHAPTER 3 DOUG’S CHAPTER- There is a HOS here that deserves mention. It was a blast. It shifts between several scenes that you have to interactively find items build a sand castle. As you continue completing each section it slides by itself into the next section of the HOS.
HOS & Diary, hint, map and Match 3- The HOS are varied and cater to all. The map is nothing special to look at but it serves the purpose as a portal task map. Hint is helpful step by step and also acts as a portal jump. Match 3 can be played instead of HOS (wish it was instead of the mini games) and can be replayed in the CE content. There is NO DIARY. Since I play so many games at once it is so helpful to have a place to brush up on the story. This game REALLY needed a diary to clarify who is who and how and why they are there. I played the entire beginning thinking the Pam/Kirk team was the Doug/sister team and it just became a confusing mess. The BASIC idea of the entire story was good, but there should never have been 2 brother/sister combo’s … and you never know how any of the others became captive.
ABOUT BONUS PLAY: . This bonus play was a disappointment for me.
The WAY bonus is ended does not match how the SE is ended. I also got angry at my character and how she deals with the end cut scene in bonus play.
By the time the bonus chapter is played, the SE had already tied the game up in a neat little bow.
So its best if you know now, when you begin to play bonus, that you go BACK to sometime BEFORE the end of the when the standard game is happening, to a place in time where you are playing as Sammy, with Doug nearby. Doug mentions to Sammy he is “looking for his sister” (his sister being your character in the SE part of this game.) Knowing how the SE ends, it made NO SENSE to me at all when or why or what was going on with the bonus story, so I hope I am clearing this up a bit. Personally, the end of the bonus play has no correlation to the end of the SE and it actually ends up being a conundrum. When you play both together you’ll see what I mean.
You play 8 scenes in the bonus play. Only 1 area, a graveyard, is new and all the other areas are the same as they were in the standard edition play. Often, I will see a “reconfigured” area or they will at least change the time of day, but nothing is changed here.
There are 4 HOS and 5 mini games in bonus play. I tried and skipped ALL the minigames in this section. You collect green jars in each new scene and continue collecting them in bonus.
CE GOODIES ARE: 8 x 4sz wallpapers (wish they’d drop the other 3 sizes and give us another 5 wallpaper), 15 non-savable small, black and white concept art without logo, 6 dl music tracks, bonus play, in game walkthrough guide, there is a bonus video (that remains locked until the end of bonus play) that is 1min33sec long. It is all visual, no voice, and you get a glimpse of some of the artists & Dev at Eipix with some random pictures related to the game. You can replay 13 HOS, replay 20 mini games, replay match 3, and replay the cut scenes. An Achievement page is set up on a slider- I only got 8 of the 12 Achievem. The Collectible page has shelves that hold your green jars and you can click on any you missed to re-enter that area and look for it. Once that is complete the SOUVIENIER ROOM is unlocked- where you re-visit 20 of the SE locations and find 1 item each.
STRATEGY GUIDE There is an in game 45pg walkthrough guide. 6 pgs. devoted to directions and collectibles. To give you an idea of how long the bonus play is, CHAPTER 1- PAM 9pgs. CHAP 2-TERRY 7pgs. CHAP 3-DOUG 7pgs. CHAP 4 Kirk & Sammy 8pgs BONUS PLAY- Sammy+ Doug 8 pgs.
IF YOU LIKED THIS GAME HERE ARE SOME OTHERS LIKE IT:
The SE portion of the game took me around 5 hours exactly The bonus play took me, 1hr 25min Total gameplay 6 hr. 25min
This is the kind of game if you liked the SE, the CE is worth every penny and the game is truly enhanced by having the extra’s here. So if you liked the SE and have some credits hanging out….just trust me and come back for this CE. Really, the only thing that would have perfected the CE content is if there had been a screensaver.
I feel this is the best game in the series and loved the more paranormal-spooky twist, which is unlike the other games in this series. Everything worked. The graphics are clear, deep, rich and colorful with perfect lighting. I reviewed this yesterday and need to alter a couple of things. It wasn't chapter 3 I was such a fan of in this game, it was chapter 5. In chapter 5, you close in on the killer and you are playing in his turf, so to speak. Usually when we are around a killer's house, the atmosphere is decade, icky or dark. In this case, you are outside with gorgeous visuals. It feels like you are on a mountain side on a moonlit night. Not to mention this adorable little bird sitting in a nest.
I also want to revise from my CE review that you do help several people in this game but it isn't set up where each chapter has its own person to help. The SE ending stands on its own but the CE ending is definitely worth seeing. There is a mini game at the very end of bonus that was just perfectly done and you find yourself really caring about the characters. You don't carry items all that long so you remember where they go. I love how it only takes a moment to look over the scene to see where an item should be placed, WITHOUT opening the secondary window. There are MORPHS to locate in each new scene, which I always see as a plus. It has many different types of hidden object scenes. And each scene has fun & different collectibles. I could not wait to pick up those “police files” to see another way someone died in a weird way. Though I am not a huge fan of the standard type of mini games, this one has some great ones. There is one with a Beaver that is so adorable, and one with a raft in chapter 5 that were favorites. The voice overs were perfect, the special effects didn’t wash out the scene and each new page, including the map, was like a work of art. Thankfully, the actual perspective to each area was also drawn correctly, and realistically which is a huge bonus to me. The music has several tracks and worked perfectly with this game. The entire game has a paranormal flare, which I also loved.
FAVORITE SPOT IN GAME IS CHAPTER 5 which despite the fact it belongs to the crazy killer it is all played in this gorgeous outdoor location with a full moon and a waterfall. I also loved Felix’s mansion in the bonus play, it was better than the demo.
DEVICE SPECIAL TO THIS GAME: are the “glasses” that alter the visual in a location and show our main characters spin on what happened in a location that can’t be seen, and in the past. This game was so well thought out. I do agree with reviewer Penmom36 who commented as to why there are even glasses when it’s our characters “special eyes”. I do agree that could have been done differently, maybe the inventory icon for these areas could have been our characters face- and had her eyes glowing white simply due to the fact the name of the game is MT Her own eyes, not MT Frey’s glasses.
HOS & Diary, map and Match 3- Every now and then is a hidden object scene that gives you a little more background about our story and makes you understand and care about the people involved more. I wish all games had that; just perfectly done here. There is also a DIARY that holds “pick up notes” throughout the game. Since I play so many games and a lot at once, I love the capacity to go back and brush up on the story. The tasked jump MAP is a work of art by itself, especially in the gorgeous location of Chapter 5 as well as Felix’s mansion in bonus play. There is the match 3 option to playing the hidden object scenes but you can’t replay it as CE content. I would actually prefer a match game, to the match 3 alternative, and would prefer having that option over mini games and instead of the hidden obj. scenes. I have no idea why the DEV seem to feel we like the Mini games more than the HOS in a HO game! They should pole the Big Fish members pertaining this.
ABOUT BONUS PLAY: The SE stands on its own from bonus play. The bonus story is unrelated. You are asked to locate someone, with your special skills, and chase down a cult and its leader Felix who have absconded with someone’s sister.
You play 10 brand new areas in bonus. There were 9 more mini games, which I played them all except 2. I so wish they would give us double the amount of HOS in a hidden object game. You CONTIUE collecting items at the end of the SE and in the bonus play. The glasses are continued in bonus play too. Felix’s mansion is my favorite portion of the bonus gameplay. The fact that all the areas of play, in bonus are new is not seen all that often. Seems to me, that time was spent to make the bonus really special. The bonus play is amazing and I am so happy I purchased the CE. The end itself was just a perfect, neat little bow placed on this perfect package!
CE goodies are: 13 wallpapers that save to doc file., 15 concept art with logo, 5 dl music tracks, I liked the one titled “Running Fog”, bonus play, and a 53 page walkthrough guide. There is a page that holds the bio of the 6 missing women. The pictures are realistic and well done. There is an Achievement and collectible page that holds each new police file you find in the game that details some “stupid death”. I thought that was a blast (and sadly, funny#.
STUPID DEATH FILES- For those that enjoyed collecting each new stupid death tale, check out this book….called STRANGE DEATHS by: Ian Simmons, it has 375 more tales of freakish fatalities.
STRATEGY GUIDE There is an in game 53pg walkthrough guide. To give you an idea of how long the bonus play is, CHAPTER 1 is 3 pages, Chapter 2 is 6 pages #demo assume is 9pgs) BONUS CHAPTER IS 13PGS. So the bonus play is longer than the demo.
Huge hugs and thankyou to all of you at BFG, and Domini Games who created this perfect game!! My time was so well spent, and I know I will replay it again!!

The SE portion of the game took me around 5 hours exactly The bonus play took me, 1hr 25min Total gameplay 6 hr. 25min
I have been playing these games for many years and must admit this is my new favorite. The graphics and scenery, throughout the game are positively OUTSTANDING. It is also rare to see the bonus play exceed the demo, and the bonus areas of play in this game are really gorgeous. I felt the same way about Chapter 3 and wondered why they didn’t use Chap 3 as the demo. It is also rare to play a spooky type game, ESPECIALLY in an asylum, that isn’t all grungy and gross (because who really wants to spend hours in a location like that?) Instead, despite being in an asylum, this game has sort of Victorian flare and the scenery is beautiful. Another thing I loved about the gameplay, you don't carry items all that long so you remember where they go. I loved how it only takes a moment to look over the scene to see where an item should be placed, WITHOUT opening the secondary window. There are MORPHS to locate in each new scene, which I always see as a plus. It has many different types of hidden object scenes to cater to all of us. Though I am not a huge fan of the standard type of mini games, this one has some great ones. Towards the end there is one with a Beaver that is so adorable.
The GRAPHICS are rich and clear with gorgeous colors. I kept finding myself oohing and aahing over each amazing scene ESPECIALLY CHAPTER 3 and THE ENTIRE BONUS SECTION. The voice overs were perfect, the special effects didn’t wash out the scene and each new page, including the map, was like a work of art. Thankfully, the actual perspective to each area was also drawn correctly, and realistically which is a huge bonus to me. Each Chapter has its own mini-storyline (like Reincarnation series, the Redemption Cemetery series, and the house of 1000 door series#. I absolutely LOVE games that do that. In each chapter you are essentially helping a new person. The entire game has a paranormal flare, which I also loved. Special to this game are the “glasses” that alter the visual in a location and show our main characters spin on what happened in a location that can’t be seen, and in the past. This game was so well thought out.

They should pole us at Big fish as to how many of us prefer the mini games. I for one do not, and still a larger fan of the HOS. As I stated above, this bonus play is BETTER than most play throughout the game, with the exception of Chapter 3 which was also amazing.
You CONTIUE collecting items at the end of the SE and in the bonus play.

Thank you to all at Domini Games, huge hugs to everyone involved with this awesome masterpiece!
I just finished Fantasy Mosaics 7, and yesterday I bought #8 & 12. Each game has around 20 levels with 5 puzzles per level that total 100 grids per game. Daily, I complete about 3 grids or more and play other games too. I am addicted!
I LOVE the 4th color, added to this installment. I liked another game that came out recently, like this, which had shapes, but I.......absolutely........... still prefer this.
The trick to this is ELIMINATE, eliminate, eliminate, any possible move in a row by counting. So if the row has an 8 only and 2 spaces are open then an entire row has crossed out due to a move you made, you know to eliminate those 2 blank spots because they just CAN'T equal 8 consecutive spaces, together. Then if you get stuck, move to a different color. Yikes, it had me thinking.... because I was switching colors every move, practically. Since I hate replaying the same grid, often I will cheat by using the camera on my cell phone....
I will take a pic of each color just before all my X's will run out. Even cheating this way, I had some trouble with this game....(and I've completed about 500 or more grids by now) but I loved the level of challenge. I think most of us that are familiar with this series, feels that what the DEV is doing is working. The changes between each new game are minor and that is perfect with me. I bummed when the demo ended and I will be buying this one for sure!
To all those at Match Gems --you pay so much attention to details with every conceivable move figured out. A big hug to all of you and a huge pat on the back for a job well done!!
Thank you for the hours and hours of fun. And please keep them coming....I for one will keep buying!!
I really liked this game. I don't know if it's because I've been playing them since 2008 give or take, which makes ME "old school" for casual games.... because this game, of course, is old school.
The graphics are crystal clear and realistic. I wish all games looked like this. I have ALWAYS loved the plain list hidden obj scenes. These hidden object scenes were well organized and they actually had really good hidden items...Which is the main reason for a game like this.
Back when, there were large file "adventure" games... and the hidden object game, like this. It wasn't until around 2010 that mixing BOTH of these genres gave life to the games of today that we love so much.
I can still appreciate "the way it was" and will probably end up buying this. This game may not appeal to everyone though. There are no bells and whistles, no maps etc. I really miss the voice actors. The hint/skip system is so slow you can feel yourself aging. Is this a great game, no. But did I enjoy my time playing it? Yes. I think mostly because I just loved the gorgeous graphics so much.
I adore Nonongrams to begin with-- especially the colored type. They have added some twists to this game and I liked them all but one.... THE SWAPPING grid. NOT a hit with me.
I am really seasoned playing this type of game but I really couldn't understand what to do when it came to the swapping grid. Thankfully, this Dev. gave us unlimited hints -a huge hit with me- and secondly, I didn't need to play the swap to progress --at least in the demo. So I went and played a different grid. I also LOVED the custom setting. BRAVO!
This Developer is seriously catering to all of us and giving us something new to challenge our brains. Yikes, with the "shapes" I kept hitting the wrong ones, until I finally got the hang of it. I am not so sure this particular game will be a hit with someone new to this genre. If you are new to this type of game I would suggest playing the 1 color grids first, then move to a 3 color grid selection and save shapes and swapping for last. These are TRICKY! I know when I'm really digging a game when the demo shuts it off and I say, "BUMMER!". So I had to buy this game to play some more. I would highly suggest this, but again, I really can't stand the swapping grids. If I HAVE to play them to progress I guess I'll have to learn via the forums or other reviews what the trick is.
In case anyone cares, I learned a trick with these type of games....--especially if you don't have unlimited hints and you are at the puzzles toward the end of the game which are harder generally...-- which is, I keep my cell phone on the camera setting and snap a picture of each color if I am nearly at the end of my X's which will end the session for restart. Upon reboot of that session again, fill in the spots you previously played using your camera phone as reference to the squares you completed before you were X'd out.
I recommend this game!
