Even though the oldest review is from 2012, this could have been a current game. Such a different storyline and loved all the steam punk elements. No map so you might want to jot down a few things... but for me it just added to the challenge.
Gi games is the developer and now I want to go see if I can find more games by them.
try it, you'll buy it.
I recommend this game!

Deleted the game after a few rounds of play. Perhaps I'm being too harsh but after playing Imperial Island Birth of an Empire for a while now other Match 3's pale in comparison to the quality of that game.
I don't recommend this game.

I can only ditto everything mycatluna said about the game. At first I thought it would be too "old school" but was soon deeply engrossed in the game play. A great long game !
I recommend this game!

You’re on a train in the middle of nowhere, and a band of dangerous thieves demand you tell them where to find the Hope Diamond’s shards. As the newest Hidden Expedition recruit, you’ve got to find the shards before they do…

I found in the demo that the gameplay was too linear and too easy and too short to become engrossed in it.
I do appreciate the developer trying to update the HO gameplay, however. Would like to see an alternative to the HOs such as match 3.
Just not enough to justify the expense of an HO... might opt for a punch code for the SE..
I don't recommend this game.

Others have done a great job of reviewing but I must add my 5 stars to it for it's creativity and originality. The bonus game is equally as good and I recommend.

While I couldn't wait to install this game I was slightly disappointed for a couple of reasons... the graphics went from clear and bright in some HOs to grainy and blurry in others and were only slightly interactive lists (which I have come to be bored with) and the alternative was a matching puzzle game where you flip over cards to make matches to clear the board (which again I didn't care for). The game was so linear as to not need the map and there weren't many things to do/find in each scene. The saving grace was our little friend the imp who was not only the task holder but the helper and when he helps I it always brings a grin to my face because of his antics and every time I see that little change purse strapped to his back like a backpack.
I was SO looking forward to playing the bonus game where he is the "star". Well, big disappointment there... we don't get to SEE him perform his tasks.. only get to read "snip, snip" "ouch, ouch" etc. Haven't even bothered to finish the bonus.
In my opinion the first game in the series was the best and they have only gone downhill from there. I will have to think twice and play a whole demo before puchasing again.
I don't recommend this game.

It was a good game and I LIKED it but I didn't love it. For one thing, I must not be as intuitive as the majority because some of the mini games/puzzles just FRUSTRATED me and when I checked the strategy guide it showed the solution but not how to get there.. or was I missing something? I don't know.. I found myself having the ask for a hint or check the strategy guide too many times to be a truly enjoyable experience.
The best time I had was visiting the island woman. Absolutely fell in love with having to supply items to make my potion while she stirred the pot.
The bonus game was ok.. but nothing spectacular.
For me, Rite of Passage: Child of the Forest was the best game of the two.
I don't recommend this game.

With achievements, collectibles, and garden area... but the main thing is the quality of this game. I personally love live actors when the acting is well done and voices are superb.
The length of gameplay is super long.. so many times I thought I was almost at the end only to find out I had to trail the villian, open new doors, explore new areas.
The jump map was indispensable! There's no walkthrough but the hint system works pretty well.
Kudos to Urse Games... you don't have that many out there but if you keep them coming like this one you will have a loyal customer. (and the best thing is I got it on the ONEDAY sale for a great price!)
I recommend this game!

I can't believe how much games have changed. Remember the days when there were no maps or quick hint charges or even hints telling you exactly where to go and what to do? Remember the days of the thinking caps and sneakers?
Well, just replayed this game for the first time after purchasing it a year ago and it has taken me the better part of two days to finish it (including the bonus). I just don't do puzzles that aren't easy so I had to attempt until the skip button finally charged so I could move on.
WONDERFUL story..... many locations in and around the orphanage. Someone said this wasn't as good as the first? hmmm I'm going to replay that one now!
I recommend this game!
