I'm a fan of the Dark Tales series, because I like the stories from Edgar Allan Poe! They are great!
This game is the fourth and I'm happy, that it's released! The game has great graphics, with some details. I like the artwork!
The game is sometimes easy, but sometimes difficould too. Thats a good mix, but for some people the game may could be to easy. For me it's good.
The storyline is a great one. I love the way Ers made the story from the gold bug in this game. It has connections to Edgar Allan Poe's story and some different things in it. And I can say again. Thats a good mix.
Now to the music and the sounds! I think the devs made a joke. They took music from their Maestro series and sounds from that game for this game. Not all tracks.
Another bad point is, that I finished the game within 4 1/2 hours. The bonus game is included in this time. The game could have been longer.
That's the point why I rate this game only with four stars, because I think that could be better.
But if you want to play a good HOG game, than you should definitly give this game a try!

The Grim Tales series is one of my favourite series. So I've been waiting for the next installment, but it was not long. The devs are very fast, they need only 6 months for a Grim Tales. And in this time they made a game, thats greater than many others.
The Storyline is great. It is more different from the other games in the series. It is not so much about the family and more about the stone queen. Thats different and a nice mix.
The sounds are great and the music fits into the game, like in every Elephant game. That is great!
The game is very difficould. I'm glad there was a strategy guide in it, because I used it some times. The puzzles are not solveless and not to easy! The Hidden object scenes are ok.
The graphics are great. They are very clear and look sometimes like photographs. I love them.

I played the beta of this game, so I can review it so soon. I really enjoyed the first two parts of the Spirits of Mystery series, so I knew that I will buy this game and I've done it now. The game is very magical. The storyline has some things from a fairy tale story and some creepy charakters like a dark man named Isa with his panther.
The gameplay is good, but the HO's and the puzzles are very easy. That's ERS problem at the moment. All the games are very easy.
But I like the interactive Hidden Object scenes. I hope there are some more in the full version.
The sounds are good as in every ERS game. The music fits perfectly into the game and the sounds are good!
I really like the cursers, because they look beautiful. But the difficoulty and that all ERS games are everytime very similar is why I give the game only a 4 star rating!
I recommend it to everyone. Give it a try!

I purchased the Collector's Edition. This game es great! The MCF series is the best and I love this game like the others. The graphics are very good and detailed done. There are many creepy places in Bitterford, Maine to explore. There are some scenes in the dark. There you need night vision googles. I really like this scenes.
The sounds are great. You can hear the wood cracking under your feet. The music is good to, but there is not much music in the game.

The sounds are good like in every ERS game. I really love the music in this one. It's a bit different to the other games.
The storyline is very intresting. It's not only a murder or a ghost story. It's quite different to other storylines. I love the clown as an evil figure in the game!
The man thats there to hel the detective all the time is a nice charakter to. The different film sets reminded me of ERS Puppet Show series.
But very bad is, that the game is so easy. The puzzles are very easy. I never had to skip one of them. The gameplay is good, but I miss Hidden Object Scenes. Thats why I give the game only 4 stars. But it is definitly another ERS Winner!

I've been waiting for this game. The game is a great game. I really love it. I played the trial. The storyline is good. I like this fairytale stuff. It seems that EG wants to make more games with such lovely stories, because this is the third one. (Unfinished Tales, Christmas Stories# This game reminds me really of the fairy tale Cinderella.
The sounds are great. There is slowly fairy tale music and darker music when something terrible happens in the game.

The difficoulty is ok. The problem is, that there are some puzzles that are very easy and puzzles that seem to solveless. #Number puzzle)

I'm a fan of elephant games and I have to say this is another winner from the studios. The storyline is fantastic. For example it's better than a fairytale, because it`s so cute! The nutcracker wants to get his Mary! The evil rats are nice done and look dangerous.
The graphics are good done. They have very much details and look real. The falling snow is sometimes a bit to much in the game. The sounds are great. In the right moments the right sounds got played. All tracks are made for Christmas time!
The game is not to easy. There are some challinging things. The puzzles are sometimes easy, sometimes difficould, but never too easy or to difficould.
I can say that this game is the right one for a snowy winter day. I had so much fun while playing it and I will play it again soon. So I can say 5 stars is absolutly right for this game!

I have waited so long for the next game in the MCF series. And the it was worth the wait. Mystery Case Files Shadow Lake is a perfect game for me. The sounds and the graphics are the best. Very detailed and the sounds are very good done. The story is a quite different one from the other games, but I really like creepy, mystic stories. Changing the locations by a map is something new, but I liked it. The auto drawings reminded me of the door tokens in escape from Ravenhearst. I'm happy that they were in this game again, The only thing that wasn't so good was the leve of challenge. The puzzles were good. Difficould and easy puzzles appeared in the game. But the HO Scenes were very easy. It seems the devs forgott to hide the objects.
But Mystery Case Files Shadow Lake for me is a very, very good game. I can't wait for the next game.

I didn't like the first Phantasmat game, so I was very happy as I got to know that Ers developned this game. The graphics are good, but I think there could be more details in them. The sounds are great. I really enjoyed the music in the game. The storyline was quite different from the other games. I've never seen an ice story like this before. The challenge were sometimes a bit to much, and sometimes to easy. The puzzles for example were to easy. I could solve the in a few minutes. But the gameplay was very good, so I highly recommend this game.

Ich bin ein großer Fan der Mystery Case Files Spielereihe. Ich habe diesen Teil bereits in der englischen Version gespielt und bin entsetzt, dass er so schlechte Bewertungen erhält. Die Grafiken und die Sounds sind in der bewährten MCF Qualität gemacht. Klar und klangvoll. Das Spiel ist ziemlich gruselig und die Storyline ist einzigartig. Sie ist mal wieder etwas völlig anderes. Desweiteren hat mir der Einsatz von Lea Thompson im Spiel sehr gut gefallen. Deshalb mein Rat. Probiert das Spiel aus, dann könnt ihr immer noch sagen, dass es euch nicht gefällt. Aber nicht von den Bewertungen abschrecken lassen.
