I have been a BigFish member since 2012 and finally pulled out my membership last year the quality of games has deteriorated so much - Yes, the graphics, animation and sound are great but the storyline is pretty much the same, and you can pretty much guess where to go next, what item to find etc. This game reminds me of the old charming games!! yes the graphics are not the same but you have to really work out what to do - like a real HOPA game.
The first 2 Cadenza still top my favourite games list, the storyline was interesting and unexpected, the music was awesome with lots of jazz incorporated, the quality of animation was top notch and not to mention the diversity of characters really made it a standout game. The newest installment of Cadenza, however, sadly has nothing above. Somehow the developers decided it is a good move to take an amazing series of crime stories filled with interesting music into a boring country music band captured by ghosts. The tedious storyline that has been around more than a dozen times with no real success and still baffles me why MH would take this onboard. The quality of the picture and cut scenes have deteriorated as well. Madhead, if you have run out of ideas for this music-inspired series, please just move on and create another game and let Cadenza has its glory from when it was a superb game.
I remember the first Cadenza game, it is still my all time favourite, the storyline was great, music amazing and game was so much fun to play. Unfortunately like most series games the storyline has become ordinary and somewhat boring. The graphics and game play is still great, mad head style however it's not exciting anymore and I almost had to make myself finish the whole game. A bit sad as there goes my favourite game series.
Something different (without a little helper for once!)

Love the detective work game in the contemporary day setting. It still involves magic and mystic creatures but it's a breathe of fresh air after all the games setting in middle age where you are handicapped without the assistance of a magic creature as a little helper.
The game play is different and interesting, I was genuinely intrigued by the storyline which is something I haven't experienced for a while. The games may be a bit too simple and straight forward for some, but overall I think the developer deserves the credit for been creative and different.
This type of games deserve more recognition! I don't normally leave reviews but after seeing so many negative review for this game I thought it's only fair that I contribute a 5-star for this game as it has so much potential to be a game changer.
Yes it may not be as fancy as the generic games that we have now where you have collectibles, morphs and achievements, but really you are just trying to make it more challenging as well as killing time along the way. You won't need those in this game as the storyline and gameplay is challenge enough. And thank god there is no talking animal or flying fairy helpers!!!! For once I feel very capable of finding a ladder and picking up item from a tree.
It's definitely for those that love "ADVENTURE" (real adventures, not just any HOG that classify themselves as adventure). The game play is hands on, and you have to look very closely at times to find a tiny nail or random brush lying somewhere that you can actually pick up and use. Some people would say it hurt their eyes or whatever but really what's the point of playing when everything is in sparkles and so obvious like most games nowadays that you could easily finish 3 chapters in an one hour demo.
The storyline is interesting enough for me to went ahead and bought the game and I am glad I did. The standard edition offered plenty of play time even without an extra bonus chapter. For anyone that consider themselves as "Expert" level players, give it a ago. It may not be for everyone, and I admit there are still bits and pieces that the developer should work harder on such as the click and point precision and consistency of voice-over, but it definitely deserves the recognition for been daring and different.
It was fun but pretty easy. There were not many wow moments like when I played the first instalment of this series. (The second instalment was just awful).
What really got me was the voice over for the main character, it was annoying how LOW her voice was and with a strange accent. I went back and played Queen of Flames again and the voice over was completely different. It just felt unnecessary and actually annoying listening to her speak.
BG has been putting all the HOGs into adventure category and they are usually generic and boring in terms of game play. This is the real adventure type of game where you have to think and problem solve along the way. It also involves logical thinking! Really enjoyed this solid game play and would recommend to anyone who prefers adventure game.
I have played every game in the grim facade series and liked every one of it. However this one is just not up to standard.
Storyline was awful (twin brother out of nowhere? really ? ) The fact that the game was so short made it worse.
The artwork was fine, and that is about the only good thing you can say about this game.
Very disappointed as I was always looking forward to grim facade series. Should not have wasted money on buying this game and probably will not buy another one in the future.
