Those who have already played the Monument Builders series will find this one very similar. It really feels like the MB game in the wild west with some welcome differences.
As in MB, you must collect resources, construct production buildings, produce and buy goods and tools, and knock down bandits. However, there are two major improvements that really made the gameplay run more smoothly:
1 - You don't have to click on a building when the resource is ready and then wait until the cart reaches your main office. Just hover the mouse over it and its done. Also, if you're too busy doing something else and forget to collect the resource, it doesn't prevent the building to continue the production. When you hover your mouse over it, you'll collect all at once. Thumbs up!
2 - Unlike the other MB buildings, where you don't build the monuments, in this game you actually build or repair the railroad, which makes a lot of sense to me.
There are a few cons, though. If you decide to read the texts in the beginning of each level, the timer doesn't stop for you to do so. And some have important information and are rather long. Also, you can't click on anything else if you don't close the speech bubble. It makes you waste some precious seconds.
Overall, I enjoyed it a lot. It's challenging, but not impossible, and very fun. I've just played the 1-hour trial, but I intend to buy it. If you enjoy the MB games, then you'll enjoy this one. I recommend it!
I recommend this game!

I know I'm repeating the opinion of many who have written about the extremely hard levels, but for me this was too frustrating. I could get gold in a few levels, some even with ease, but the ones I couldn't I found them to be really IMPOSSIBLE to beat. I don't get it: how can a game have some extremely easy levels and others that are just impossible, all mixed up? The easy ones are not necessarily in the beginning so as the hardest are not the last ones.
I also miss the add-ons a lot. What happened to them? Was this game even beta tested? It doesn't seem so. I love TM games, like the MB series, but I regret having spent a credit on this.
