I purchased this game (117MB) after playing Rooms and The Toymakers Mansion, (79MB), both of which I enjoyed completely. This game is the Toymakers Mansion, with a different name and artwork, but the same puzzles and storyline. It seems to me that the additional 38MB come from the artwork. Had I known this, I would not have purchased this game, but if you like sparkly art, choose this game and not the Toymakers Mansion.
I recommend this game!

Adera
Jane Sinclaire faces her greatest challenge in the mysterious city of Adera. Solve puzzles, collect artifacts and unlock its secrets!
This game is awesome, especially for anyone who appreciates a long game with lots of puzzles. The demo was short but it was a enough for a definite buy because it is different from most of the games I've played lately. I enjoyed the storyline, the art, the HO's, and the variety of puzzles, some challenging, like the snake puzzle which threw me for a loop, and others less difficult. I even liked the 360 viewing that some locations had, that I avoided in the past because they just made me dizzy. And this game is pretty long, which is definiitely a big plus. I would recommend this game if you want to try something different.
I can't remember when I played a game as interesting and challenging as this. I prefer puzzles as opposed to HOS in the games I purchase, and this game had a really great variety of puzzles with different levels of difficulty. I didn't want to stop playing. Lately, many of the games are just too easy and cutesy. I prefer the darker games, and challenging puzzles, and this game had it all, along with great artwork. I even enjoyed the voice telling me I did well on a puzzle or asking why it took me so long to finish it. The only issue I had was accidently hitting the skip button on one puzzle. It just skipped it instead of the usual box popping up asking if I really wanted to do that. That was disappointing because it was a really good one. Luckily for me, i can play the game again anytime since it was a definite buy for me after only a few minutes into the demo.. If you like brain teaser and more challenging puzzles, and a darker style of game is to your liking, I would highly recommend this game and I hope there willl be more of this style available.
Discover the city of Apothecarium, where inhabitants are caught in a perilous struggle against a powerful alchemist who is taking the lives of innocent!
I am really enjoying this game, and I agree, it has a lot going on and could easily be a CE. I am playing on the most difficult level, which makes it more challenging and fun for me. The artwork could be a bit better, but this game has other pluses, like the morphing HO scenes and having some of puzzles different than the usual variety. And I love the classicaI background music. First time I've ever raised the volume. There are achievements to earn, a match game if you do not want to play the HO's, and coins to earn to purchase faster hint recharging, HO assist, and some other upgrades in the game. I can't comment on the length of the game since I am not finished yet, but so far, I would highly recommend this game.

I liked the first Secrets of the Dark and bought this game right after the demo ended. Yes, it is similar to the last Secrets of the Dark, but once you change a room light, you do not have to change back to move from one area to another. The story line and graphics and such are good (although I find the smoky demons a little lame) but then I am more interested in the game play, being able to choose the level of difficulty, and the length of a game. As to the game play, the HOS's and mini puzzles are plentiful but not difficult even at hardcore mode. You do go back and forth through scenes a lot, at least I do, trying to remember where to put that newly acquired puzzle piece. As to the length of the game, I have played about 2-3 hours, so I can't yet fully comment on that, other than there seems to be much more playing time since several areas are not yet accessible. All in all, I would recommend this game if you like HOS's, mini puzles, and game that is not over before you seem to begin.
Tried the demo and thought it was going to be a good game, so I bought it. I was very disappointed when I realized the demo was the best part . Even at the harder level, the game took about two hours, very short at least for my thinking, and the HOG's seemed to get easier as the game progressed. The ending wasn't much to be desired either. As to the graphics, etc., nothing special. The only good thing was that I purchased the game with a coupon code for a discounted price. I do not recommend this game.
