In the heart of the forest we come to know a great tale about tiny and not so tiny beings - a beautiful fantasy world, where Max, a human has to overcome a lot of obstacles to save the kingdom.
The story presents humans together with animals (acting more human) living in a kingdom, ruled by a mouse king. His adviser, sort of a chancellor, is Rattus, a rat. In former times rats and mice were enemies and for a short period this seems forgotten: rats and mice as well as other beings live peacefully together. But this is more of an illusion, as Rattus strives for power himself and intends to destroy the kingdom. A drought has plagued people for some time now and the King calls for help. In a tournament it shall be decided, who would be able to find the reason for the drought and make this world bloom again. Max wins together with an amazone but in the end it is him, who saves the princess and triumphs over Rattus.
Artwork in this game is stunning, HO scenes are varied and creative. Puzzles are not very difficult but interesting.
Valera, the Queen of Flames, with whom this series began, is back and needs all her fellow rulers to assist her in the fight against the Dark Lord. He broke free from his prison and now threatens this fantasy world. As already said here, a fantasy ride with all features in order to overcome this evil power.
Fascinating HO scenes, good minigames and puzzles and assistance by the one or other side character, as the genie or the blacksmith. Brilliant move in showing, you do not need a constant helper to assist the protagonist!
All characters are well designed, the Dark Lord reminds me a bit of Darth Vada... (this is more a personal view). Story is of course not new and spins on the saga of the Dark Realm.
The game was an instant buy for me, as I played the beta some time ago. Big Fish gave us the chance of a throwback to the very first game with the weekly special offer (Dark Realm: Queen of Flames), so we were prepared to see a more mature Valera in her new adventure.
For all lovers of fantasy, especially the more dark genre, a Must-Have!
Love even beyond death - theme of the series, so here as well. The white mage Aaron changes sides to regain his diseased bride and we accompany him on his way to Phobos, who took her from him. Start with a romantic to sugary sequence, then gameplay gains pace and we have a lot of puzzles and actions to solve/perform. When Aaron decides to visit the blind witch and turns sides to become a dark mage he frees an evil spirit, who will be at his side till the end of the game. So, all, who missed the helper - here he is. So the main part of the game consists of Aarons fight against the guards of the underworld, which he wins with the help of this spirit. Artwork is amazing, in the course of the game we will have many HO scenes, definitely more than puzzles. Pace is quite good. The end would suit a romantic movie. So parts of the game were really good and showed the potential this developer has to create really good games, other parts were just not my taste.
Finished the Forgotten Pages early this morning. Wonderful special fantasy game! Special fantasy came to my mind, when I recall the different fantastic and more real worlds or world pieces, I visited via my (always vanishing) elevator. Loved it, to search for ingredients for the shapeshifting potion for the cat-witch in her little flying room as well as in a garage. Then I had to climb a small space ship and shoot the safe - another way to open such a closed casket....... There were so many extraordinary steps in my voyage, I wasn't bored a second in playing this adventure.
This combination of a neverending story, where the writer creates his worlds and what he experiences there in combination with portal journeying via elevator into traditional fantastic worlds (2 towers, 2 brothers fighting each other for good and evil) as well as realistic worlds, where a bank is robbed..... is quite unique. The Nevertales started out as pure fantasy but developed with the Hidden Doorway and now the Forgotten Pages into a new form of fantastic tale. This is a creative fantasy, which gives wings to the players' own ideas. Away from the old tales, narrated ever and ever more in the traditional fantasy games, where by now often helpers have to jump in to present the newbie in the game, the Forgotten Pages have a static point with Murray, who gives the player the ground from which he can jump into the worlds to get to the core of the stories.
As this is a game, I don't want to neglect features as HO scenes and puzzles - both creative, puzzles neither too easy nor too hard. Both very well set into the development of the story.
The developer has reached a new peek with this very good game. We have two portals - ice and fire - with two well designed worlds. HOS and puzzles are mostly not those we are used to, but more challenging. A wonderful game - won't say more, everybody should at least try it.
The miracle of the Green Moon, which flourished with plants of all kinds, had lasted for only a few moments. A cataclysm made the Moon lifeless again. Find out why!
A moon, green, like our Earth - beautiful vision. The game starts with a book from which we learn, that there was a time, when the moon was green and full of life. This narrative lets you think of a fairy tale or so - but then we begin to play and there are lots of tasks to fulfill in order to get to the moon and let it be green there again. It is a strange and at the same time good experience to be rather on your own to find objects, reach goals... Very different from my usual games (HOGs, adventure light...) but this makes it even more "adventurous". Help is possible, integrated is a good tutorial.
Aunt Gray wakes up in a hospital bed with her niece at her side - suspected of murder in her own house. She suffers from a temporal amnesia and starts recollecting the events with the help of the case file and her special talent of reviving past events. She finds out....
I will say no more! It is a great game, a bit different from the former Gray stories in this wonderful series. This time we have a good detective story - Hercule Poirot would love to be there!
First of all: great review Sunnyglow! I have nothing to add to this fantastic review. My comment: it really follows the theme of the series in a nice manner. I love this kind of game-recipe: a potion of love, crime and secretiveness. So this was a buy.
I recommend this game!

As we already have many detailed reviews of this game, here a short one, which is more a comment. The game is very well made, a real piece of art and in the tradition of the EAP-Game-Series. Well the story does not actually follow the literature but never mind - it is a really good game.
Wirklich grandioses Spiel.
