Very engaging from first to last. Story line is very good, graphics & audio are great. Puzzles etc are interesting. Enjoyed the characters interactions, playing as different detectives, utilizing their individual talents, 'ghost-dad' jokes are as lame as ever, (guess no one can pick their relatives). Looking forward to the next adventure in the series.
Based on the reviews when I bought, (4 star), about a week ago I expected much more. Visual style, (flat), game play, (repetitive), puzzle style, (old hat) & navigation, (pick-list, room,pick-list, on & on), all at least a decade out of date for game design. Clues in HOP to hidden items in red-text on dk grey are almost impossible to read. I can only think early reviewers were nostalgic for the series, given how highly recommended it was.
Third in the series, Book of Oricles is as enjoyable and challenging as the first two.
Lots of positives have been said by other reviewers and I agree with all the acolades but just want to add - DON'T SKIP THE END CREDITS - the voicover is priceless and you get to sing along with little Jessie!
Once upon a time in the small, undistinguished town of Silentville people started disappearing. Help uncover the mystery behind these disappearances and save the town from a curse!
I've come to expect quality products from Blue Tea and this game is no exception. High quality graphics & audio, good story-line linked to a classic tale. Game-plays easily with no glitches. Cut scenes and dialogue are not intrusive and adavance the story effectively. Bonus game is good. I played on Casual mode so found Hidden Object scenes & Puzzles quite easy but next time I'll try a harder mode. If rats don't bother you then this game may be for you.
Interesting historical storyline but several aspects make this a 'no buy' for me. Full screen isn't on my laptop, graphics are muddy & there's no picture adjustment option and game-play is frankly irritating. Game doesn't allow u to pick up objects know you'll you'll need later so there's lots of turning, turning inside locations to go back to an object you spotted minutes before. I played the full demo in the hope that it would improve but it didn't.
A fun game with good story line and moderately challenging objectives & puzzles. Loved the old move studio context with the suitably snarky villan/director.
Clear crisp graphics, adjustable sfx, music & voice levels plus brightness. Finished in Casual mode in 2:15 so play time is OK.
Perhaps not quite challenging enough to suit dedicated HO/puzzle enthusiasts but the fun-factor balances that out for me.
