this is NOT the typical HOG. All I did was run from place to place, getting more and more frustrated all the time....more like a scavenger hunt. I didn't like it AT ALL. My mistake was to buy without trying it out. I just looked at the 3 screen shots and it looked like it would be good. I won't make that mistake again!!!
I ran out of hints and still haven't found the scissors on one of the "match the outline" page. No way to advance. I have clicked on a ridiculous number of places on the page and still haven't found the scissors. I spent over 30 minutes hunting for them to no avail. An object shouldn't be that hard or that small to find, in my opinion. Oh where oh where are the Mystery PI games.....now THOSE are real HOG.
the creators/proofers probably should do a better job of labeling the objects. A top hat is NOT a derby hat, for example. this is frustrating when one is looking for one thing and finds that it is called another. Another example: "decorative cup" turns out to be a wine glass looking piece of glassware. also, the "find the difference" game sometimes is a little bit ridiculous...for example one end of a mustache being a bit different. Even when I used one of my hints, I couldn't tell the difference. Other than this...average game, but frustrating to me at times because of the above examples.
I liked the game because it is pure HO, no dark story theme running through and it isn't one where you have to jump through hoops before you ever get to the HO part. However, it just ended very abruptly..no warning...just a ..."ok, Joe, I gotcha" ending. I would, however, probably buy a sequel because it is, as I said, pure HO. It is the closest thing I've found to the Mystery PI series but not nearly as good.
