Based on the demo, I will be purchasing this game. I can't remember the last game I found this exciting!
Winning combination of a murder mystery/supernatural combo. You play as a detective with special powers that allow you to find extra clues hidden within scenes and objects. The storyline really excels here, making excellent use of deductive reasoning within the game.
The graphics and sounds are topnotch, the puzzles are unique and challenging, and the story is intriguing. Any whodunnit fan will find this mesmerizing! That is my preferred genre, over the evil, dark games sometimes featured, and I would say that this is in the top of its class. I really found myself trying to work out the story to figure out who the killer is, making judgements about each character's alibi and, at the end of the demo actually gasped out loud! Couldn't believe I had already played for an hour and was absolutely hooked!
I recommend this game!

In all fairness, I'm stuck on technical issues that are preventing me from finishing the last chapter. (Game glitch!) AND I've had issues throughout the entire game with having to restart because of a blank screen. (Very frustrating!) Putting those factors aside, I was really bummed about this game. I read through all the reviews and decided this was just the game for me. I prefer the detective games where you lead an investigation, I enjoy the macabre for some games, and thought the time period would be perfect. To be honest, I found the graphics just ok. The color scheme was so drab that I felt like it detracted from the game. The music and sounds were nice and did add to the suspense and overall quality. The storyline was interesting, and kept you guessing. The biggest disappointment (other than the tech issues--and check the forum, the game is full of them even with an update) is that this was not a quality CE. I love the morphing objects, the collectables and that sort of thing. The skulls you collect in this are not "hidden" in any way. No challenge. And the knives that you "purchase" were very boring and did not add any fun factor to the game. The best thing I can say about this game is that while the HOG's were not that challenging, the puzzles were. There were several times I was tempted to skip because they were so challenging, but I stuck with it because it was a treat to be challenged so much. That made the game unique. Now perhaps my gameplay is negatively effected by my tech issues, but I really found this to be lacking in what I've come to expect from BF. Lots of promise, but I just didn't feel like the game lived up to the hype. And I wish more games would be fixed before being available to purchase. I game for fun and stress-relief, not to find another chore. Maybe the standard version would have been better.
I don't recommend this game.

I have been a huge fan of MCF, they always produce my favorite games and can't wait for the release of a new one! I never expected to be SOOOO disappointed by any of their products. Poor storyline, not the same standard of dazzling graphics, and just nothing new to be excited about. Sad...
I don't recommend this game.
