Finally, Sophia can come home and is able to defeat the evil wizard. The witch knew that Sophia would be the one to save her people. She still has her two little helpers, Ren the owl and her little pocket dragon, and they are quick to help her out when needed. Has to find items to turn those that have been turned to stone, because they are magical, back into a living person. The visuals are clean and crisp and beautifully colored. Sound is not over powering. Just the right amount in the backround. Ren actually speaks in this Awakening. Nice touch. Games and HOGs are challenging but not overly so to make you frustrated. The storyline flows from one scene into another very smoothly. I loved the first three Awakenings and am not disappointed with this one. A beautiful ending for a wonderful and beautiful game. Sophia is finally Home.
As I said. It is a great game but I found that when I was searching for an item in one of the HOGs, it was no where to be found. At least on the screen part. And when I used a hint, it was clear off the screen. Took forever to find that darn worm. This was a first for me. Still a great game with lots of interaction. Music was good and not monotonous. Storyline flowed and really good fun. Visuals were clean and crisp. Just a bit short otherwise would have given it a five.
All I can say is if you loved The Amber Maiden, you are going to LOVE Song of the Phoenix. The faces of the nanny from Amber Maiden and Song of the Phoenix, well, they could pass for twins. And when you go to get the water and see the picture of her grandmother, with the owl, well, you knew that at long last the are finally letting you know what happened next. This is a fun game and just from the demo, I knew that it was a buy for me. The visuals are bright and easy to see, except for when you have to deal with the evil guy. The sound is great and there is different music almost for each scene. It flows with the storyline, not choppy, making it wonderful to listen to. There is a bit of a challenge to the overall game but not so much so that you want to quit. The SG stays put, not like others that you have to go through ump-teen pages to get to the one you need. I like that. The storyline flows, like the music, going from one scene into another smoothly. All in all, I would give it an A+++++ A must buy, especially for those who liked the Amber Maiden.
Storyline: kids want to color eggs. Same as in most households this time of year. It was fun and too easy on the HOs, so there wasn't much of a challenge. Sound was too cutesy but the visuals were outstanding. Nice and bright. If you want to have a slow and easy day, this would be the game. Recommend it for the kids but not for the older set.
After being frustrated in not being able to complete the game, it was a joy to see it fixed and able to finish. The visual/sound was great. Good challenge but not overly so. Storyline was great and left it with a possible sequel in the works. What happened to the girl??? All in all, a good game to play on a rainy week-end or a sunny week-end or because it is one that you can't stop playing until you get to the end.
Downloaded the trial and it didn't make much sense. HOGs were confusing and too dark to find most things. Music was monotonous and not like other games where you knew by the music what was going on. Storyline just wasn't there. Fun factor--- forget it. I love a good HOG but this is not one of them No buy for me.
