This game, for me, had a story and action so engrossing that looking away from my monitor left me wondering where I was. No mindless placing items here to open that, etc. No boring slow pace waiting for the game to end. I loved it.
I loved the first Runefall and have played it several times. Since reviews claimed Runefall2 was the same as the first I decided to download my old game and just play it again. Once it was over, I wanted more so decided to try out the new Runefall. Although Runefall2 used the same tiles (which are items needed in the game) it is not the same game. The biggest improvement is the "in game" map. Unlike the first Runefall, the map OPENS to display where you are and to select where next to explore. Another improvement is when all runes in your current area are found, you can choose to finish exploring the entire map or go on to the next level. The story and characters are quite delightful and funny in this romantic tale. The only thing I wish was carried over to the new Runefall would be the loud crashing when crates are destroyed. Very satisfying! So if you own the first Runefall or not, try the new one.
