I love this game. The story line was actually interesting and I followed it, which I normally don't do. Some of the puzzles had no skip and I had to refer to the Guide for assistance when I got tired or frustrated. Will be looking for other games from this company.

This game is one of the shortest ones I've ever played; the first time I've ever finished a game in one sitting. It's way too easy and cheesy. Stupid story line so no wonder it's so short.
Quality game but it's short and the bonus game quits

I enjoyed this game but it was way too short. The bonus game quits at a certain point. Of course this prevents me from finishing the bonus game. This is very disappointing and surprising from ERS Games.

Of all of the HO-A-P games I've played, I enjoyed the storyline in this one the best. Though the story itself is fiction, it is fact-based and a fascinating theory on the mysterious and untimely death of Henry Houdini. I didn't want to stop playing because it was as good as getting engrossed in an awesome book.
The game play was just as well done. HO scenes are not junkpile and there's no hand-holding. The Help function does tell you what you need to do so you don't need a strategy guide or walkthrough, even though one is provided in this Deluxe edition. I would have gladly paid the CE price for this one and I can't wait to play it again.
I highly recommend this game for any history buffs and HO-Adventure-Puzzle fans. It's a must-have.

I didn't even make it through the trial for this game. It's the same old thing… a fire, an orphanage, save the kids, etc. There is too much hand-holding; I don't want to be told what to do and when to do it. The HO scenes are junkpile, the graphics are OK.
I was just not thrilled at all with the story line and did not like the lack of a challenge and adventure. This game would be good for someone who has never played a hidden object adventure game, but it's not for someone who already knows the basics of this genre.

This is a great game. The graphics are beautifully done and the storyline is interesting and spooky. Game length is worth the money. Music is OK - very repetitive. Puzzles are very easy, HOS are medium difficulty.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It's not your run-of-the-mill hidden object/adventure/puzzle game. It's unusual in that you time travel, and have an option to play a match 3-type game in lieu of finding well-hidden objects in the HO scenes. There is a time machine in which you can jump to the scenes where you need to find objects rather than running all over the place trying to find them. It's a long game and well worth the price of the CE. I can't wait to play this one again and I usually don't do this right away.
My only complaint is that in the Mac version, I was able to play the optional match-3 game twice without the game quitting. (It kept quitting on the match-3, so I just stopped playing it.) This is highly unusual for BFG Mac games; in fact, it's the only one I've had this problem with. But this is an issue for BFG tech support. It did NOT detract from the game at all.

This game is awesome! It's the sequel to Twisted Lands: Shadow Town, which you really should play prior to playing this game. The graphics are wonderful, the voiceovers are appropriate and well-done, and the music is in the background - suspenseful but not irritating.
The help system is a good one - clicking on it tells you which direction to go in and if you are already at the correct location, points you right to what you need to do. It doesn't tell you what to do, which I like.
The story is spell-binding and keeps you on the edge of your seat. And there's a surprise ending… just when you thought you had it all figured out!
It's a long game and well worth the $$. Way to go BFG!
I purchased this game after reading comments & reviews for the follow-up to this game, Twisted Lands: Insomniac. Fishies recommended playing Lost Town first because it ties into Insomniac. As always, excellent advice!
This game is a great H0G adventure game. There are just a few puzzles and I found them rather difficult. So difficult I skipped most of them because I just couldn't figure them out; this is rare for me. This did not take away from the fun of the game at all, because like I said the puzzles are few.
The graphics are great, the music is suspenseful and not irritating. The game is a long one.
A great buy that's worth the $$. I'm DLing Insomniac now and from what I've read, I know I won't be disappointed. I always trust the Fishies' advice.

This has become one of my favorite games. Beautiful graphics, great storyline--I loved everything about it. The puzzles aren't too difficult. There's the always-helpful map. I didn't need a walkthrough, though there were times I had difficulty determining what to do next. But that's the fun of the game!
