Well, I had to try it as I have not bought the last few Domini games. All there games were just the same stuff over and over with a new title. I really like the story line and flow of this game. Yes, I had to fan smoke away AGAIN, open a drawer with a cork AGAIN and use a mirror to see the lock on the other side of the door AGAIN. I may buy, especially if there is a BOGO. I have been playing a lot of old games lately because it seems that no REALLY good games are coming out.
Maybe it was because I started playing this game directly after Mystical Riddles, but I was disappointed. The similarities are so obvious. Scare the birds to get something, find something to attach 2 pieces of chain together, fan away the smoke, find something/anything to unscrew the screws and what is it about clipping everything with a finger nail clippers. The only thing I liked was the story line. I did come across some new mini games. It was an OK game. So glad that the recent releases of Elephant and GrandMA games were amazing, fun to play and non repetitive.
I have the 1st Montgomery Fox and this one is just as good. They are the devs that brought us the original Mortimer Beckett games (the best), so I can see the resemblance to the characters and artwork. It is a pretty straight forward hidden object game with a few puzzles thrown in.
I am really enjoying this game. I have all the others in the Christmas Stories series. In fact, I just got done playing Enchanted Express (again) and The Christmas Tree Forest (again). This one is just as good. Very entertaining.
In my opinion, the games of Drawn (the 3 originals) is the best and most creative series to date (although the original Moritmer Beckett games come in a close 2nd). I have played all the original Drawn games many times. I've noticed some minor changes in the game. They have added morphing objects as well as collectibles in the scenes (did not need these). There is more "hand holding" in Re-Drawn vs. the original. I felt I had to think more with the original game. Re-drawn is more vibrant and has added dialogue. I liked some, but not all, of the changes. Regardless, it is a MUST play. My only hope is that the developers/BF will give us a whole NEW original Drawn series. That would be GREAT.
While I did buy it and play, I really did not enjoy this game as well as all the others in the series. The story line was too supernatural for me. I was hoping for something more "Friday the 13th or Scream."
Thank you very much Brave Giant (and how happy I am that it's not another Domini game). I did not think this was a kids game at all. I loved everything about it (yes, it is a little slow moving). Thank you for no ghosts, portals or dark story. Very refreshing.
I just finished playing this game for the 3rd time. One of my favorites. Please, Eipix, listen to your players and make many more "Fearful Tales" just like this one.
