I gave everything 4 to 5 stars, but, I just do not like a lot of HOs. This one definitely had too many for me! It takes the fun away from the game! The mini games were very good, and the challenge was good. The storyline was very interesting, but I had figured the 'secret' out early. It was laid out well, no traveling back and forth.
If not for the HOs, it would be a ten for me!!
Recommend for HO fans and mystery fans.

'Hardcore' always makes games interesting! This is a good game, different storyline, keeps you interested. Chose of two endings, but I didn't know that until it was too late!? Chose of inventory item used determines the ending and the endings are very different!! Puzzles are good; HOs were not too bad, but some items were hard to find.
I had mixed emotions about the map; I was very glad we had it bc it kept me from having to go back and forth (which there was a lot of) but it gave too much info as to where to go do something that needed to be done!! I would have preferred that it not be so informative!!
But it was lots of fun and I recommend it!

Dark Parables is always great. Very enjoyable. When playing "hard", you're on your own; no hints, no map, no info, which makes the game challenging!
Different HOs; pieces are to be found, put together; become items that you really need to advance. Not sure whether this is a continuation, but the name of "Briar Rose" was mentioned. Seems as though another Parables will be coming.
I definitely recommend!

Great game; the kind I love; adventure, puzzle game. I always play the hardest levels; so, with it, you are on your own; No help.
At first, it was kind of confusing, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes very challenging! VERY CHALLENGING!! If you enjoy a challenge, this is the one; especially if you like puzzle adventure games. Give it a try, you"ll enjoy!!

This was my 2nd Samantha game. I like the games, but I do not like all of the HOs!! TOO MANY FOR MY ENJOYMENT LEVEL. HOs take away the fun for me. Will not purchase any more.

Not bad; pretty fun game. Interesting how it was morphed into different areas. It was done very smoothly. Had quite a few HOs, but they weren't too bad. Storyline was good; beasts were interesting.Puzzles were good, not challenging enough, though.
Fast game for me, and I'm usually slower than most.

I LOVVVEED THIS GAME!!!!!! ONE OF THE HARDEST I HAVE PLAYED!! I am a puzzler and 'trust me', this game has LOTS of them and they are NOT EASY!!!!
I like to play 'hardcore' whenever I can. This game IS HARDCORE!! NO INFORMATION, NO INSTRUCTIONS, AND NO HINTS. You, not only have to figure out what kind of puzzle it is, but how to do it! I spent days on some of these puzzles, because I don't like help. Matter of fact, I kept forgetting about the dragon, because I'm not used to using help!!
Everything in here is wonderful, except, the end. I think that in the middle of the epilogue, the devs decided to have another game; because this was no end of game.
I read some of the reviews before I began typing, and it is amazing how different the reviews are; some loved it, some didn't. If I get clear graphics, loads of puzzles and a great challenge, I'm in love!!! So if any of you are like me, you will absolutely LOVE THIS GAME!! And, if you play advanced or hardcore, be prepared to have loads of fun!!

Could have been a '5', except for the murky graphics and 'dirty' HOs! HOs were very hard to find; hurt my eyes!!
Since the games was to be gory and scary, the graphics fell into place.
The game is long, as well as the bonus. Bonus is broken into 2 chapters, the 1st one gave me a fit, 2nd one was not too bad.
The puzzles are great, some of them are not easy; they make you work! I like to play 'hardcore' whenever possible, so there is no help given.
The game is challenging and long; so be prepared. It has enough HOs and puzzles for everyone. Have fun!

Just finished; fantastic game!! I am beginning to put this series as one of the best I have played, if not THE BEST!

I am a puzzler, I lovvee puzzles!! This game is wonderful!! I always play 'advanced' or 'hardcore'. These puzzles were magnificent. They were different, not run of the mill. Any time I spent DAYS on ONE puzzle and still had to use the strategy guide, I love it!!! (I hate to give up).
This turned out to be the best or one of the best I have played!!
It had everything, great story line, great graphics, great maps, great voice, GREAT PUZZLES, great length, and I even didn't mind the 'FEW' HOs!!
The game was soooooo long; several mini stories open up at various points with new maps and you are locked in until those areas are solved. You then return to the main part of the game until another mini story opens. This really stretch the game. It's like mini games within the main game!
The maps are good because you can use the maps to jump from place to place to minimize the going back and forth.
The graphics are beautiful; it is so enjoyable to play games that don't hurt your eyes!
I most definitely recommend this game!!
Oh, and the Bonus is great, as well!
