After reading the first round of reviews, I really wasn't sure. I am a die-hard Casual Arts and Playcademy fan, and I had not tried a Grandma's before.
But several elements of this game I really like. The background and storyline, the match 3 for crystals, and the kind of adventure-like nature of it. Based on the choices you make, your story forks one way or the other.
Additionally, it is CHALLENGING! I'm about a a medium to expert level player after many years, and this one requires a lot of concentration to solve.
Yes, I do agree with some of the other reviewers - the graphics could be a little more upscale, more and better animation, etc. But at the end of the day, there was more going for it than against it for me. The 90-minute trial just whizzed by before I knew it, and I was really enjoying myself. So, in the end, I decided to hit the button and buy it, and candidly, I think that's a good choice if you're on the fence. This game is plain and simple, a lot of fun, and certainly worth it.
Hi have purchased ALL of the vacation and Park Ranger Adventures, and I am a dedicated fan. I have seen a real progression of quality and enjoyment and fun factor as the games are released. These are the perfect blend of fun and relaxation for me. I am about an intermediate+ player, and I love it that you can play from relaxed mode to standard mode with timers for challenging yourself and others and in the EXTREME mode for the collectors' editions. I never get tired of these games, and so happy to enjoy them. The sound effects, graphics, characters, and storylines are all top-notch, and I just love it when the new ones come out. They are an insta-buy for me.

I was a little leery and skeptical of buying this game after reading some of the reviews. But oh my gosh, I loved it as soon as it loaded, and I bought it when my trial ran out without hesitation. I love the storyline, I like the dialogue, and I really enjoy the gameplay. It is just enough fun and challenge to really keep me engaged. It takes a little figuring out to determine what needs to be done on each level and in each mission in order, but geez, this one is a keeper. Definitely top marks. I would buy this without hesitation just for the amount of time you spend on it and the absorption level. This game is the perfect balance of just the right amount of fun and challenge for me. It's kind of like a Sci-fi version of Build-a-Lot, and that's what makes it so fun. The different worlds and graphics are really good for a casual game, just interesting and absorbing enough for me. I highly recommend this game, it is just a ton of fun!
