This game was my favorite game for over two years! And even today, it is a toss-up. This Mystery Case Files HO Adventure game is so realistic that you feel as though you are actually "part of the game". -- The story line is fantastic for an HO adventure game. -- The graphics are Amazing! The detail is fabulous! -- A LOT of HO scenes, as well as lots of mini-games... and.. Each and every one is challenging but very very enjoyable. -- The programmers used actual PEOPLE in this game, that you interact with. That really helps make this game feel more like a "reality game". (Especially when I was gathering ingredients for Gumbo...Love that southern cookin'). -- I'll be honest, I love the SOUTHERN U.S. There's just something fun about those folks, and if you like the south, you'll love this game. You can change the "attitude" of the people's responses to you...which is hilarious at times. -- The game is a nice "lengthy" game as well. -- It is WELL WORTH THE MONEY TO GET THE COLLECTOR'S EDITION. The bonus content is so worth it. I originally purchased the SE, and came back later and purchased the Collector's Edition. I don't regret it a bit. I have now played this game in each difficulty mode, at least 5 times, and still love it. Each time I play it, I notice some little detail that makes me smile. -- There's a LOT to be said about a game that you can play over and over, and you still enjoy it as much as the first time...and for me, this is one of those games.
There is bad to say about this game. I loved every little detail, and every challenge. It's definitely one of my favorites, and I have more than 250 BF games.
YES, a thousand times, YES...I highly recommend this game!
ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY GET THIS GAME! If you like Hidden Object Adventure Games, and Fairy Tale characters, (with a twist), you will love this game!
The storyline is excellent! The graphics are amazingly well done. The hidden object scenes are challenging and fun. Once I started playing this game, I could not quit until I finished it. It is a lengthy game, as well. In the Collectors Edition of this game, there are also "morphing" objects to find; which really adds to the fun and excitement for me.
After I purchased this game, I came back to BF and bought ALL of the Dark Parables games, and I am so glad that I did. This is a wonderful collection of games that I am certain to play over and over.
There was NOTHING that I did not like about this game. I loved everything about it. I highly recommend this game...It's an adventure that will keep your interest, and challenges that will work your game-loving mind. YES...I RECOMMEND THIS GAME.
I played the demo, and was able to complete two of the "painting missions" during the hour of free play. The story line is cute. Nelly is off to find her brother, who is "somewhere" in one of the canvas paintings. Actually this would be a fantastic game for a Grandparent and grandchild to play together. I believe it would be a wonderful game for that kind of bonding fun, between grandparents and their grandchildren.
The hidden object scenes were relatively easy, and not the usual or standard HO scenes. You have to gather items to "put things together", in order to solve problems.
The music was okay, and not obnoxious at all, but rather more on the soothing side. There are no voice overs, and there is a lot of reading of the dialogue, but that's okay. The game is colorful and has a very "youthful" attraction, I would say... but, I believe, as someone else said... It would be great for Grandmas as well.
I gave it four stars, because 3.5 stars is not available. For beginners, it would be a definite 4 to 5 star game. For those who are more advanced in playing HO games, it is about a 3.5 since the challenge is not very advanced.
The mini-games are fun, and not too difficult. There is nothing "scary" about the game. I hope that this review helps, as it is not a bad game, just not enough challenge for those who are very experienced with HO adventure games.
Definitely try out the demo... and decide for yourself.
I recommend this game!

I love the Pop Cap games, and this one is no exception. Like others have mentioned, the Hidden Object Scenes are a bit difficult at times, but overall, the graphics are awesome.
You will definitely get your money's worth here. The storyline is good, and it is a fairly long game. I have played all of these "Amazing Adventure" games from start to finish in one sitting each, because they are, for me, difficult to stop playing once I get started. I don't want to give too much information, so that it ruins the game for you, but you won't be disappointed. There are some ways to unlock unlimited game play, which I always enjoy. Check it out for yourself. This is a fun game to play, and chances are, you will find yourself buying every one.
Have fun...It's a wholesome game, with good graphics, a plot and good audio, as well. You won't be disappointed with this one....at least I wasn't. I did need to wear my glasses with this one, LOL...but that is okay.
Oh!...If you like the Vacation Quest games, you'll love this one. Enjoy! I do recommend this game.
I believe that this is the FIRST of the two Gardenscapes games. I have purchased both of them within just moments of playing their demos. It is a cute interactive game, that requires little "brain stress". LOL. Austin, is the main character, along with the dog, which you can name yourself. I loved that l could name the little doggie. With just a click, you can get Austin to play with the dog, and do other neat things in the garden. The Hidden Object scenes are fun to play, as neighbors and friends come over to purchase Austins' old "junk", so that he has the funds to upgrade his garden. The game has a cute storyline to it, and it is quite enjoyable to see the progress of making a beautiful garden. I recommend buying BOTH of these games. It is good, wholesome fun! A game that you can play over and over. You may play in timed or untimed modes, and both are quite enjoyable. The graphics and sound are well done. Yep...I highly recommend this game to anyone who wants a HOG with a storyline, but also wants one where they can "relax" and just enjoy some good wholesome fun.
I recommend this game!

I bought this game after just 10 minutes of playing the demo. It is simply good clean fun! I loved doing the mansion "make-over", and it is a great sequel with the Garden "makeover" companion game. I liked being able to name the little dog, and with a simple click, I could interact with the Butler, Austin. You get extra "money" to upgrade the mansion, by locating the "golden coins" within each HOG. Neighbors and friends come over to "buy" Austins' old junk, so that he has the money to upgrade the mansion. (These "purchases" take place in the HOG's). It's not a real brain-twister game, it is more of a "sit down and relax" game. You can play in timed or casual mode, yet even in Casual mode, if you locate items quickly in the HOG's you get extra "cash" to purchase upgrades. The music is nice. It seems to RAIN a lot! At night time, that practically put me to sleep, but it was nice nonetheless. If you are looking for good wholesome fun, without a lot of stressful thinking, and a cute game...I highly recommend buying this game. I have purchased both of them, and they are both games that I will play again and again. You don't need a "walkthrough" or strategy guide, because this is a "relaxing" and fun game. The audio and video are well done, and it is simply fun. Try it out, along with the sequel "garden makeover" and see for yourself. Chances are, you will find yourself purchasing both. I did. Have fun!

From the very beginning of the game, my attention was seized! The story line, puzzles and graphics, as well as sound quality are all fantastic. I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an adventure story, with real-life information about places from around the world. The game keeps your attention, too. The in-game "walkthrough" is so helpful at times, when I miss a small detail, and need that bit of extra help. The Big City Adventures are FIVE STAR games in my book.
I recommend this game!

I so very much enjoyed this game! It is "old school" hidden object, with bonus feature games: Match 3 and Unlimited HOS scenes. The video art is very well done, and the music is relaxing enough to lull you to sleep, if that is what you like at the end of a long day. The "facts" about Australia are pretty neat, as far as info goes. Buy this game, if you have not already!
