The premise of this game is intriguing: a deadly virus, encased in a museum artifact, has broken loose and is posed to wreck havoc on the world as it spreads. The principal characters must find a way to destroy the virus. Unfortunately, I could not get through more than twenty minutes of the game! The avatar characters are poorly constructed. They are awkward in their movements and in their actions and reactions, which has a direct affect on the authenticity of the plot. It's very "plastic,"and the characters' dialogue is pretty "juvenile." The plot-line has potential, but the characters detract from the overall acceptance of the plot idea.
To make the experience worse, some technical aspects of the game are very annoying. I really wish someone with a modicum of knowledge of English grammar and punctuation would proofread the text before the game is released! Just having properly punctuated text that accompanies the characters' dialogue elevates (or in this case, lowers) the entire gaming experience.
I am surprised at the extraordinarily positive, high rating this game received.
I don't recommend this game.

This game is pretty standard for its type. I won't go into the details of the plot since others have done that. The quality of the plot, character portrayals, sounds, etc. were acceptable, though certainly not at a level that warranted distribution or price. [I bought the CE game]
The bonus game had the weakest plot and character development. A character with critical impact shows up at the end without explanation, but with an unclear purpose--except to facilitate the plot's conclusion. A reference is made to this new character's relationship with the "villain," but when the villain turns on her, the Fire Queen immediately trusts her without one question. Not logical!
What really annoyed me was the poor grammar and punctuation. I am tired of paying for games with weak plots, poorly developed characters, and that are poorly EDITED! The bonus game appeared to be an afterthought and was not ready for distribution. It was certainly not reviewed and edited for mistakes, particularly in English grammar and language. There were too many items in mini-games with incorrect words describing the objects, and worse, the grammar was atrocious! In one section a repeated phrase (using a HINT) was "I need some [singular noun]," For example, "I need some ladder." Actually, there were punctuation errors throughout both the primary game and the bonus games.
If the developer of a game is not a native English-speaker, but the game is promoted to and sold to English-speakers, then please have an English speaker (who knows English grammar and punctuation) review and edit it! Yes, it affects the VALUE of the game! I would recommend this approach to whatever language in which the game is presented.
Overall, this game was not worth the CE price!
I don't recommend this game.

I was hesitant to even try this game after reading the reviews, but I am delighted that I did try it! It's a great game. Unlike other reviewers, I did not find the cut-scenes tedious, boring, or overdone. They were integral to the storyline, and it is an excellent storyline. I am usually annoyed by juvenile storylines or illogical decisions or actions of the characters. This is a very mature storyline and the scenery and music are beautifully done.
Another thing I appreciated was that there was not gratuitous violence or gore!
This is a great game!
I recommend this game!

I disagree with the effusive reviews I read prior to playing this game! This game is in dire need of revision and editing! There are grammatical errors throughout, there are technical glitches (for example, the hint button sometimes puts you in a loop, indicating you to go somewhere where there is nothing to do, and when used again, the hint sends you back to where you started!), and the logic is unclear regarding some of the dialogue and scenarios (why is there no shock or disbelief when someone the main character trusted suddenly turns against him?).
This game was not ready to be released! It has promise, but the flaws are numerous! As it is, I cannot recommend the game. Once it is edited and the problems solved, it should be a pretty good product.
I don't recommend this game.

Another great game from the Mystery Tales folks! The storyline is excellent--better than most. This one is reasonably paced and is well-structured to the point it does not end abruptly as so many do! The premise is intriguing, and not too "over the top"! I am tired, tired, tired of the "spooky, haunted everything, demons around every corner" games. This one includes many supernatural elements, but there is enough "reality" that one's imagination is piqued, but it's not necessary to suspend one's intelligence. I played the CE, but it's the storyline, the HOs and mini-games that create a good product. The extras are nice, but just that--extras. This is a excellent game!
I recommend this game!
