It's been a while since a game appeared that made me think, that challenged me and took a good long time to play. MCF was always fun but recently suffered, like most HOG's, of same old, same old - doing the same things over and over and over (*sigh*).
This game, although it does have a few things that are standard, does them in new ways. For the rest, the puzzles are in often sets that provide a challenge, the story line makes absolute sense, even the extra chapter, and there is not too much chat from the characters as to be distracting. And the collectables and morphing objects are fun and not too easy. Fun factor increased significantly.
I played this game custom level with text and indications on the map. Hint's and skips were set to longest time as well as penalty for too many clicks.
I really enjoyed this game. I'm hoping that BF looks to provide developers with the resources to keep developing games that provide new experiences for those of us who have played these games for a long time. I had almost given up hope.
Well done Grandma! Keep up the great work and don't rest on your laurels.
Grab some cards and keep cool in the shade. It’s time for a picnic and a game of Solitaire! Explore more than 300 levels and restore 5 beautiful summer escapes!
I'm a fan of Jewel Match Solitaire and have all the solitaire and some of the Match 3 games. I played the demo on this one and found two things that were not to my liking but may be to others who play these games:
1. Normally their scenes and colours are soothing but this one was just a bit over the top in terms of background and card colours and with Nature ... butterflies (and yes you can turn them off). I felt like they assaulted my eyes.
2. The gameplay was just a bit too easy, even the bonus games. More recent Jewel Match Solitaire games, although still quite relaxing, proved bit more challenging. It took the fun out of the play. I tried timed and hard mode but still a bit too easy for me.
I did love the music and I didn't feel at any stage I had to turn it down or off.
So if you really want relaxing play and you love colour this is a great game for you.

I have previous Dreamland Solitaire games but since I upgraded to Catalina, they became unplayable. I've been looking for a good solitaire and this one certainly fits the bill beautifully.
The storyline is basic but logical. The locations graphics are clear and colourful, there is a lot to do at each location and the games progressively become more difficult even on casual mode.
There are three modes of play as well which allows for repeat play. There are achievements, power-ups to buy in the store and not too much interruption to the game play with video clips.
There are no technical hiccups with this game as there have been on other supposed Catalina ready games and that's a bonus. I know Big Fish is working hard to get rid of those but they are annoying when they occur.
If you like a nice solitaire or a challenging one I think this is a good one to try.
It was a 64 bit so I downloaded it as there are not many match3's ready for Catalina. I thought it might be fun. The graphics are lovely and you can get all sorts of things in the game ... but ... you can't do anything with them but get more. So it becomes the same each game. Way too easy even in hard mode and not much else unless you like game after game of match 3.
I've been playing these type of games for quite a few years and recently I've found many to be replica's of previous games with the same puzzles and HOGs. This game was a step above those for the following reasons: - There was logic to the storyline - and a bit of character development too - The puzzles had a bit more challenge than more recent games and there were one or two I hadn't played before - The game had a good length - I played for 4-5 hours - The bonus game was different to the main game and therefore more intriguing. Overall, I would still like to see something a bit more challenging but I had fun with this game.
Details of the game are provided elsewhere so I won't go into it again here.
Whats good: It's a good story that at least makes sense, the games are fun and medium to relatively easy, the hidden objects take a bit to find but aren't difficult (all are lists). So overall, considering what's been on offer lately, especially of you're a regular player, not a bad game in terms of fun.
What could be better: - One issue I have is a rather small detail but if you tie someone up, don't leave a knife at their feet *sigh*. That takes me out of a game and makes me go "grumble, grumble." - The story was good but I really would like some creativity and some new games. I've played many of them quite a few times before.
A nice afternoon's game and one that's not too dark for a change.
On his birthday a boy finds out he is adopted and his father has sent someone to bring him home. Except the father is an intergalactic megalomaniac and the adoptive mother is a cool detective determined to get her boy back.
Graphics are great. Quite a few of the HOGS and other games are new and interesting - not not altogether too difficult - just a good challenge.
Most importantly the story makes sense and the game is lovely to look at and move around. The map makes moving around easy.
Also it took quite a while to play and I got a great deal of enjoyment out of it.
Extras allow for getting those three or four collectables you missed, replaying the HOGS and games and a bonus chapter that is a prequel.
Altogether a delightful weekend with this game.
I recommend this game!

So pleased to see ERS back on their top game. This game has all the challenge you could ask for without being too difficult. The story keeps you guessing. Collectables allow you to take good care of a lovely horse. The map could be a teeny bit more helpful but thats a small quibble in an overall quality game.

This game has a different storyline which I enjoyed and the games and HOGs were of medium difficulty. It's nice not to be playing a detective. Playing a young girl who is assisted by her uncle when she finds herself in danger is a nice change.
The graphics were nice, a few longish explanations by characters but they were useful in scene setting. A bit of moving between scenes but in the CE the map was very useful.
I don't often provide reviews but this one is better than most of the recent new releases and I spent an enjoyable afternoon with it - about a five and a half hour game for me.
I don't often review games but this one was worth my time. This review is done after having played the whole game including bonus game of CE.
Overview: I love HOG and adventure games and this game provided that. It has been a while since a game challenged me and the multi-game puzzled certainly did that. What fun.
The storyline - you've returned as the Master Detective to Ravenhurst to ensure Alister doesn't get to the Well of Souls and gain power. Nothing particularly spectacular there but you are always close on his heals and the storyline is logical - nice.
The graphics - are good and the voice-overs well done with some live actors. Gives the game a good feel. The music is appropriate and not intrusive.
The gameplay - is fun with, as noted earlier, good quality and challenging HOGs and puzzles - in particular the multi-puzzles were delightful and challenging.
The CE is worth buying - allows for you to go back and play all the HOGs and get gold cups and the full achievement. Also the puzzles can be replayed.
This time you can also go back and get the hidden objects you missed - now that I really liked as I only missed one and was happy to find it and get the achievement.
My view is it's a delightful game that gave me over 6 hours of fun.
Keep up the good work developers but don't rest on your laurels and keep inventing new stuff to challenge the regular player.
