This review is based on the 60 min sample. I too had bother with C++. Although the game is presented well I do feel an effort has to be made by the manufacturers to put a bit more 'zip' into their games. This is a '1 up or one down' for of solitaire and needs no real instructions to play. However, this type of game has been on the market for more than a while and so I guess many people will have a copy of some kind or another.
This is based on the trial sample. As many of you may be aware we've had a run of disappointing games this year, one LOL (not laughing out loud) was criticised for dropping the usual play and for having many HOP. This is the same. The game begins around the bonfire with a teaser for the previous game being discussed, then switching to the main story a young woman has been invited to meet an old friend. At the railway station she gets a real scare and then a helping hand. I was disappointed in the change of style, this style also appearing in one of the Edgar Allan Poe based games. Are developers really having a problem? Is the genre worn out? We will have to wait and see. I have rated this 3 stars, but the normal game may be worth 4 stars/
This review is based on the sample. This series is now well established but if you are new to this then the format is similar to most of the other 4 Friends game. The presentation is powerful - many hues and colours, the story line is exclusive and interesting - see other reviews - but not 100 percent believable. The maps are good but I was disappointed by the small playing area, but to make up for that the games are quite intense and 4 friends put games where others don't - they crop up unexpectedly, and that's okay except it does pause the action too frequently. I liked the game very much but I'm not sure you'd want to spend the extra money on a collector's edition. I'm rating this 4 stars but I'd give the ordinary edition 5 stars.
This is a Friends 4 game, and I find the keynote of their games is playability. This time someone is washed up on the shore and investigates the mystery of the evil pirate. I really liked the games and although I have played more challenging games the whole tone of the adventure is so charming that I don't mind. Your assistant is a little black and quite charming Scottie dog and I wait to see a full review. Aha! Me hearties!
A lot of card games are to choose the higher or lower card and this is an example of that. The game is set, I suppose, somewhere in South America. I found the artwork really nice and the music was pleasant and the whole environment was pleasing. However I was not too pleased with the tutorial - it tended to get in the way. I suppose I could have turned it off but some details, if not the generality of the games, do differ, so I thought it worth it. This game will appeal to some.
This seemed at first to be standard play, but once into the game I was given the option of choosing a resolution - and if I didn't like it then I could begin the game and make another choice. Sounds good, but what was the story? I've no idea - no backstory, just into game, game, game. The art design was really very nice and the playability was good too, but it was a bit frustrating to play a game that was so 'in your face' and not in your mind; some people will like it though.
This is made by Domini Games and is set in what looks like Medieval times - as are so many games about Kings, Queens and fairies. The main character is a male - a Prince of the royal line, and the plot hinges on the revenge the Prince's mother wants on Queen Celeste, the evil fairy queen. The challenges are quite the usual stuff - the most interesting thing for me was the first HOP, which had sliding vertical panels - an interesting challenge. Other than that I found the colours quite gaudy, the game play quite simple. If you like this kind of game then it's for you
