This is a late review so I don't know if anyone will even read it. But I feel that I have to join with so many others to express my disappointment. Dark Parables have been, without exception, my favorite games. When I saw a Dark Parable game, I bought it.
When I saw Eipix, I started worrying. And my worries were justified.
The game is extremely short compared to other DP games.
The music has deteriorated to the point where it is absolutely annoying. The music has always been a high point for me. I almost muted it.
Where are the collections?
Where are the morphing objects?
This game is simply "pick up items, deposit items, repeat". There is no real interaction, there is no beauty, and there is no soul.
The fairy tale is over unless Blue Tea takes back control over the Dark Parable series. If and when the next game appears I will demo it first. And if it is not up to Blue Tea standards, I am not going to purchase it.
I don't recommend this game.

I'm sorry but the bouncing balls drove me insane and there is no way to stop them. As you play a hand, more and more appear and they bounce all over the place - it is very distracting and annoying. I want a Halloween-based solitaire game but I would like to play the game without distractions all over the place.

(based on the demo):
I like this quirky little game. It has a lot going for it. I played on casual and have found it to be very simple (so far). It might not be much of a challenge but it's nice to not have to think too hard sometimes.
The good:
1. Clear, colorful graphics.
2. Hint button recharges amazingly fast.
3. Hints actually provide useful information.
4. HOS are fairly easy with no misclick or rapid clicking penalty; they are slightly interactive.
5. The player has access to a knife throughout the entire game. Kudos to the developers for this! :)
6.There are some collectibles and this is not even a CE.
The bad:
1. There are some problems with grammar.
2. Storyline is a bit weak.
3. You can't click on the dialogue to make it go faster; as a fast reader I found this frustrating.
So far it is interesting and fun - at least after I finally figured out how to open that cage right at the beginning. I should not have skipped the tutorial.
I'm sure that better reviewers can give the specifics as to how many puzzles and HOS are in the game and I appreciate knowing that information. I'm using a punchcard credit on this game.
It's fun. Isn't that the bottom line?
Happy gaming, fishies!! :)
I recommend this game!

I like this game. It's certainly not five-star material but it's good, even with the problems.
The graphics are beautiful, quite colorful. The game starts off with poor graphics but they improve.
There are no voice-overs. There is a map but it's not a jump-map.
HOS are either the standard (with interaction# or fragmented #with interaction#. Objects are fairly easy to find. There is no rapid-click or misclick penalty - that is a plus in my book. There are a lot of HOS but not too many. This is not a game in which one finds a HOS and another five seconds later.
Loading takes a long time and you can't skip the beginning until it loads. That is frustrating to me because I want to play the game and not have to look at the same thing every single time.
I've played one extremely simple puzzle. I couldn't find any instructions for it but it took about five seconds to solve. Puzzles can be skipped.
The Hint button recharges rather slowly but not enough to make me want to hit the computer in frustration. Hints do not guide the player to a new area. It's the standard "There is nothing to do here; I should check another area" - I know some players hate that so I thought I should mention it.
Sometimes the cursor is wonky; it turns into a hand when there is nothing to pick up. When there is an area to be searched it sometimes doesn't turn into a magnifying glass. This actually happened once during the tutorial. This may be an indication of problems later on in the game. I have a feeling this game was put together quickly without much attention to details, with the exception of the graphics.
I like it and I think it's definitely worth it as a freebie #as I bought it#. It's definitely worth a try.
Happy gaming, fishies! :)
I recommend this game!

This game is a super fast, mad dash vacation. You decide to go to Bimini, fly yourself there, leave the plane (I managed to do that in a second; I guess I was lucky), find a display full of brochures...but you can only look at the one you are allowed to look at. Then it's out the door to the taxi which becomes your nearest and dearest friend. You do something silly, taxi back to the airport, find another brochure, take the taxi back to almost the same location you just left and do something else that is silly.
You receive orders. If you dawdle over the brochures you are scolded. The Hint button merely repeats the orders. Say what?
I ended up diving at Hemingway's favorite spot. I clicked on Hint. I was told to dive at Hemingway's favorite spot. I went back to the dive shop and was told to dive at Hemingway's favorite spot. I did so again. I was then told to dive at Hemingway's favorite spot. I did manage to find the name of the sunken ship but that is all I was allowed to do as far as I could tell.
I decided that spending the rest of my life diving at Hemingway's favorite spot and then diving at Hemingway's favorite spot and then diving at Hemingway's favorite spot again was not my ideal vacation and so I exited the game. I live in the northwest, as does the protagonist (for lack of a better word) and I would much rather be there than diving at Hemingway's favorite spot.
I think I was supposed to be saving the world. What diving at Hemingway's favorite spot has to do with saving the world is a mystery that will not be solved by me.
This isn't the worst game I have played but that's probably because I was laughing so hard while I was playing it.
I will probably dream of diving at Hemingway's favorite spot tonight.
I concur with most of the other reviewers. This game is a joke and BF should be ashamed to release it. It's so bad that, although I was laughing, I was embarrassed for the devs.
Did I mention that I dived at Hemingway's favorite spot?
I don't recommend this game.

Based on as much of the demo as I could stand to play:
This isn't the worst game I have played; it's not even close. But it's definitely in the top ten.
There is some good; the graphics are good and clear and completely wasted on this game. There is no mis-click penalty in the HOS; that's always good.
But there is no storyline that makes sense, the HOS are remarkably simple, the puzzles are very easy. This is the first time I have seen a jigsaw puzzle where all you have to do is choose a piece and move it across the board until a picture of that piece shows up on the board and that's where the piece goes. Where is the challenge and fun in that? It's rote work and quite boring. I'm always happy to see jigsaw puzzles in games but not this time. And there were very few pieces in the first place. Why bother? I almost skipped it.
This puzzle should be re-named "HOGS for Dummies." The player goes to a place, needs a tool or something, finds it, and uses it right away. Then there is an HOS and a "puzzle" and then it repeats - over and over and over and over. The game covers the basics but nothing else. There is no sense of adventure; there is no sense of accomplishment, and there is no fun.
It's not worth a DD price. It's not worth a credit. It's not worth it as a freebie.
That's my opinion; sometimes I've found games with horrible reviews that I have loved. So I recommend demoing it to see for yourself.
Happy swimming, fishies!! :)
I don't recommend this game.

(Based on the demo):
This game is from a company that usually does a pretty good job. But not with this one. This game is one HOS after another. There is some slight interaction in each HOS. The items are either very easy to find or so difficult that I had to use the Hint button which takes about 40 seconds or so to fill. I hate using the Hint button! Several times I couldn't even tell what the item was after I had received the hint. Another problem is with the size of an item. For example, I couldn't find the pen because I was looking for a pen, about four or five inches long - it was really about four feet long.
There is a rapid/over-click penalty which consists of a warning.
No voiceovers, just limited dialogue to read.
The plot is inane. You, as the protagonist, need to find your boss who has been kidnapped. For some reason you can't figure out that you need to call the police on your own; someone has to tell you to do that. And when you talk to the police you find out that you have to collect the evidence. You move from scene to scene and each one is another HOS. That's about it.
The game might be OK for a beginner with excellent eyesight who doesn't mind out of proportion items. WAY out of proportion. I can't recommend it for anyone else.
But still, I would give the demo a try. I've read bad reviews before and ended up purchasing a game after playing the demo myself. You never know.
Happy swimming, fishies! :)
I don't recommend this game.

BASED ON THE DEMO (as much as I could bear before I felt myself on the verge of screaming "SHUT UP!" at the protagonist):
Story: The protagonist finds herself in a washroom of all places. She does not know how she got there and she is not dressed appropriately.
The game goes downhill from there. It is a series of amazingly simple HOS with a tiny bit of story thrown in and a lot of gasping/moaning sounds which are irritating beyond belief. Even worse, if the player clicks on an area, the protagonist repeats everything she has already stated before about that area; over and over like some sort of torture. Her voice is irritating and she speaks slowly.
The graphics are very poor and the game play is clunky. I kept accidentally clicking on sparkling areas again and having to listen to the protagonist repeat herself. Instead of muting her I finally left the game as I could see nothing redeeming about it.
For example, there is a puzzle at the piano. I had no idea what I was doing other than hitting keys using a code but before I came close to finishing, the puzzle was over and I received my "prize." The fuse box puzzle is so simple that I could not believe it. Surely there must be more to it than that! A five year-old could solve it. Maybe a three year-old!
Items in the Inventory are not labeled and are not always obvious as to what they are.
The Hint Button doesn't take very long to recharge but the hints it gives are very limited. Yes, I know I need to go there - tell me how instead of just showing the area over and over!
There are so many good games out there. This is not one of them. I wouldn't even buy this as a DD. Please try it before you decide. You might like it.
I don't. :(
I don't recommend this game.

I didn't play for very long. Clearing blocks of three or more tiles while listening to the giggling of fairies as they are released gets old quickly. As for catching acorns, I couldn't do it and kept being told: "YOU FAILED". I failed? At catching acorns? Who cares?
I wouldn't want my child to receive that message while playing a game. So I would not recommend this game for adults or children even though smaller children might enjoy the giggling. :(
I don't recommend this game.

To be honest, I have never enjoyed playing games when those circles appear and I have to find the items to fit in them. I would not have even tried the demo if this game had not been a DD. I'm happy I tried the demo and I'm happy I purchased the game and I'm especially happy that I played the game and completed it.
This is not a difficult game. The Hint Button refills very quickly and when one is prompted to go to another area it does not count as a Hint. Hints are good; not just "there is nothing to be done here" - a practice some other devs seem to rely on. Items found for the circles sometimes show up in that area and fit right in and other times interact with an item in a different area or show up in a different area. So it is often interactive and I like that. One thing that impresses me is that it is so easy to place items in those circles. In some other games I have struggled to get them in in just the right way so they will be accepted. Not so in this game; they go right in with an audible "click." Picking up items is also easy; there is no "I've got to put the cursor on exactly the right spot or it won't be picked up." Game play is smooth.
The town in trouble is a fascinating place; not a normal town. I won't give away anything more than that except that thinking outside of the box is a good skill to have in this game. There is also humor. I especially liked interacting with the guards.
There is a journal which is quite helpful. A map would have helped simply because most of the areas started to look the same to me #probably because this is not a normal town# and I started getting confused about how to get back to an area I had just left a few minutes ago. That's just me; I don't know if others have that problem. The Hint Button led me back and so I did tend to rely on it more than I wanted.
I used the WT only once and then could have smacked myself. It was so OBVIOUS!!
Graphics are quite nice, clear and well-drawn. Somebody is very creative!
As for length, I would have liked it to be longer simply because I enjoyed it so much. If I had known it would be this good I would have considered the CE and I recommend checking the reviews for the CE and playing that demo.
Puzzles can be skipped and the wait is not too long although longer than the Hint Button refilling. I had to skip a couple of puzzles because I have problems with them due to some brain damage. Playing them helps even if I cannot complete them. I know I can go back and play the game again, concentrating on the puzzles. That is exactly what I am doing now.
So:
Good Hint system,
Hint Button refills quickly,
Puzzles can be skipped,
Journal,
Interactive items to fill circles,
Smooth game play,
Engaging storyline,
Walkthrough is available.
Overall - it is fun. And what is more important than that? I certainly got my money's worth for this game. :)
I recommend this game!
