I love Jane Austen and tend to buy any game related to her books. I especially enjoyed the storyline to this game. I thought the game was pretty easy to follow. I could usually figure out where to go. But if I had a problem the hints worked well.
There are several types of hidden objects scenes, There is the standard finding objects based on name; then finding the matching shape for an object; and lastly finding random shapes.
The mini games included some that I had not played before, which is always a plus. There were a nice variety of these games. Most were not too difficult although I think I ended up skipping one.
I also liked being able to find 5 of Jane Austen's novels as I was playing the game and enjoyed the mini game that matched the various novels with a character name and picture.
The cut scenes definitely help tell the story. Since I often play games while my husband is sleeping, I play without the sound and just read what is happening as opposed to listening to it. I appreciate having that option.
I completed the game in about 2.5 hours, which means it's a fairly short game. I look forward to playing it again soon.
I have played all the games in this series, but this is the best one! One of my favorite parts of this game are the secondary hidden object puzzles in each scene, especially finding the Nativity Objects. I also liked that you could replay the various scenes if you were not able to find all of the objects, including the Nativity objects the first time around. The game awards you extra points if you don't have to use hints.
I played the game twice during the holidays using different player names. I improved my score the second time which is to be expected.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed the pictures of Graceland and the videos of Elvis. The game itself was rather short. The HO scenes are fairly easy. You do go back and forth a lot. Although there is a map, it was sometimes easier to just use the Hint button to get to where you needed to be. There were several mini games. A few of them I had some problems with and ended up skipping them. I'm glad I had that option.
It was so nice playing a romantic game for a change. It was a different type of HO game. There weren't that many actual hidden object scenes or too many mini games. Instead you spent most of your time looking for objects to complete tasks. You do go all over the place. A map would have been nice but the Hint button was very useful when you couldn't figure where to go next. I did end up using it a lot.
I recommend this game!

After reading the various reviews, I decided to try this game. I really enjoyed it! It is a straightforward HO game with a few mini games. I could usually find most of the objects in the scenes and used no hints in many of the scenes.
I liked the fact that when you did the mini games, you would do one type of game and then one of 2 types of find the difference game, which I always like to do.
The story was indeed a riddle. You kept earning various pieces which would be used to solve the puzzle.
I appreciate the bonus games at the end of the game.
This is a quest with some hidden object scenes. The quest and storyline are very enjoyable especially to those who love English history. There is nothing like talking with Mary Queen of Scotts, Shakespeare, Richard III, and others from history. The quest is to earn the crystals to a royal broach that is cursed to get rid of the curse. Along the way you meet many interesting people who need your help.
Luckily there is a map, since it's the only way you know where to go next as you complete the game. The game would be better if you could go directly to the map instead of having to go the added step of going to the diary first and then having to close out of the map and then the diary to get back to the game. You have too much traveling to go between the various locales in your quest. I wish there were a map feature to take you directly where you needed to go instead of all the moving around the game. That's the only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 Star rating.
The mini games are fun. As others have said, some are easy and others are more challenging.
It probably took me around 4 hours to play the game in Casual mode.
I recommend this game!

I read all the reviews but still decided to try it as I love the story. I did figure out how to move between rooms. There is not that much to the HOS. Unfortunately I got stuck in the piano mini game as my time ran out. I can't see myself getting past it and I couldn't find any way to skip it, so there is no way I would be buying the game.
This is one game that you either need a walkthrough or you are using hints a lot to figure out where to go next. You may be in one part of town, and have to go somewhere else to pick up one item you need to proceed. There doesn't seem to be much logic about where you need to go to complete tasks.
The hidden object scenes were OK. I was able to find most of the items in the scenes with only 1 or 2 hints on average per scene.
The mini games are OK. Luckily you can skip them when they are too challenging or don't give you enough ideas on what you are supposed to do. There were some games I hadn't played before. Finding pairs of objects was challenging because of the way some of the things were drawn and what they considered a match.
The story is compelling! It's the best part of the game. It's the main reason I would recommend the game. I'm glad I got it for $2.99. It's worth that but not full price.
I played the trial period. It was strictly looking for hidden objects at various places around the US. There were no mini games during the trial. Some of the objects were hard to find but there was a hint button. If you just want to look for objects and nothing else, you might enjoy the game.

I read many of the other reviews before trying this game. They were right! This one is a lot of fun. The Hidden Objects could be challenging but I managed to find all of them using maybe one hint per scene. I enjoyed the mini games and appreciated the option to Skip those that were too challenging for my brain, after I had tried them for a while. There are a nice variety of games. The Auction Portion of the game gets more challenging as you go along. You have to be alert. I do enjoy doing the upgrades for the antique museum.
