This is a very well made standard edition. The art and cut scenes are top notch and the game play is innovative, far beyond what is normally seen in a standard edition that is not a cut down collector edition.
It's quite creepy too and a great lead in to Halloween.
I really enjoyed this game. I played it on expert because after a few years of playing HOGs it was time to up the anti.
The game play is fun and the mini-games are not just run-of-the mill and can be challenging. I really liked the graphics and the sound track is not too annoying. The cut scenes are polished and the character's audio track actually matches the character's lip movement. I know that's a small thing but it bothers me when they're both out of sync.
It includes an interactive map with collectibles and achievements.
I'm running it on the latest Windows 8 and had no problems with the game;s performance.
Free the frog princes from the clutches of an evil witch! Return them to their princess brides, and find out if the kiss of love can break the witch’s curse!
This is a fun little game and it is a nice departure from the gothic realism of many games of late. The animation is quirky and fun. The puzzles are not particularly challenging but they are varied. All in all a very nice game.
If you loved the Nutcracker from last year, this is a must buy. I love the spin on a familiar story-line and the visuals are lovely.
The puzzles are easy to moderate which is great for me as I'm playing this game to relax and feel the Christmas spirit, not to get frustrated over difficult puzzles.
This is a good little game with an interesting story line and a variety of puzzles. There are various locations in the adventure from land on to a vessel and then a jungle type location. HOS scenes weren't too difficult but not impossible either.
I think there are a few too many annoying bugs though. Though they don't damage the game play too much, cosmetically it just seems a little sloppy. I do expect a polished product though and that's why this doesn't rate four stars from me.
The graphics a crisp and professional. The puzzles are off the chart just plain hard, but still very fun to solve. Interactive HOG scenes add to the fun.
The story line is a bit standard: boyfriend involved with a spooky character, ends up kidnapped but for me the story is just window dressing to the puzzles.
There are trophies achieve and scorpions to find adding to the repeat game play.
There is a map with tasks listed but unfortunately it has no jump feature, a minor negative.
All in all a great game...and I got it at %40 off today!
A late-night subway ride takes a bizarre turn into a mystical cemetery. You have been summoned by a strange entity to free the cemetery’s lost souls. Will you succeed, or is this the end of the line?
I have really enjoyed this series and I am happy to say the quality of the series has remained strong throughout.
This installment is not as dark as previous games but kept well with the theme of saving souls. The artwork is top-notch and the story-line flow is entertaining. There were two varieties of HOS: Interactive where you find a silouetted item and use it to find another and standard HOS. These scenes have just the right amount of challenge. There's an interactive map that allows one to jump to different locations. There are also trophies for getting items for your cute puppy.
Your crow familiar receives special abilities to help you and you must complete puzzles to keep these topped up.
I saw "Dark Horse Comics" in the opening screens and was so excited!
As an avid Dark Horse fan, I was expecting a dark and creepy story line and something a little different.
Wow was I disappointed: The narrator won't shut up, telling me exactly what to do. HOSes everywhere with items so easy to find, it was laughable. I usually buy everything, but not this time even though I have 5+ game codes to spend.
I really enjoyed this game because it had a bit of everything: great story, beautiful graphics and good voice acting. I liked the HOS because you had two scenes at a time (past and present). This was much more enjoyable then simply reusing the same scene twice as other games do. Even using hint required solving puzzles!
There's also a good map with warp function.
The only things missing were awards and achievements. These are what makes one replay a game more than once. The mini-games were also very easy.
The storyline was enjoyable and the artwork was cute. This is a nice change from the usual gloomy, scary HOGS. I liked that when an area was cleared of items and special side items, as sign came down to show this. HOGS were clear but had some challenge.
