Adventure with puzzles and HOS continues. Seems more puzzles than the first game. Most of them are relatively easy. The tremendous quality of this game continues along with the first in the series. Graphics rendered perfectly. Music very nice. My overall on this is a 4.75, just shy of perfect.

I wanted to like this game, but in the end, just didn't enjoy it that much. Played on advanced. Graphics were great. Voiceovers suited the story and were done reasonably well. HOS were really nice. No clutter. Detailed images. Only knock on HOS were found items were not completely marked off the list. They were just grayed out, which blended with the white open items. The storyline was pretty good until about 2/3 of the way through and I began losing interest. The biggest drawback was the difficulty of the puzzles. Unless those who have reviewed this game already are members of Mensa, these puzzles are "hard". Hint system was borderline worthless in some instances. Bonus chapter was long enough, but given my annoyance with the puzzles by that time, I just wanted to get through this and go onto something else. May try it again on the first level and see if that makes any difference. I do recommend it with reservations.

Wanted to like this as I like scary settings in general. Probably have 20 or so of the asylum/hospital type games in my collection. Afraid I just wasn't that keen on this one compared to others out there. The storyline was a very good premise, but i didn't feel a smooth flow. There is a great deal of back and forth. Although there is a map showing potential points of interest, you were moving from one end to the other or one floor to another too much. Puzzles were fairly easy, but at times tedious. Graphics rendering not that great, although perhaps that tied into the theme. Seems these darker themes are grainy much of the time. Some hidden objects were hidden a bit too well. I would rate this no better than a 3.0, especially compared to some of the outstanding peer 4 and 5 star games out there.

This was the first straight puzzle game I've played. At least that I can remember. I generally like a mix of HO, adventure, puzzles in a given game. I must admit this one was extremely entertaining, even with just puzzles. The degree of difficulty varied. You can play timed or relaxed. I played timed and had to skip about 4 of them, not due to difficulty, but the timer running out and not wishing to restart a level. Used walkthrough on about 3 puzzles as I couldn't fully grasp it. My notes after playing the game say, "pretty darn good" and I don't throw that out easily. My overall rating is a 4.25.
I recommend this game!

Adventure/HOG. Game started out okay, but had to keep repeatedly backtracking trying to figure out what they wanted done next. Hint system was not helpful in all cases. Many of the items to find were very archaic or "wassat". This was my second play over a few months. Just wanted the game to end by the time I was halfway through. Some of the items were hidden too well. My overall rating was a 3.0.

Straight HOG with some type of match game (pictures, match 3, etc.,) at the end of each round. Sixty levels. Scenes do repeat, but the list of objects differs. It does tend to become more difficult as you progress, especially on the match games. While graphics were extremely bright and colorful, this was done to obscure some of the objects and make the game more difficult. I really like the postcards on each level as they provided very interesting facts about the city. Best played on a long train ride to San Francisco. My overall rating is a 3.25.

There are relatively few true five star gems out there. This isn't one of them. My best would be a 3.50. Spread hidden objects rather than a list of items to find. Must complete a certain number of tasks each scene. Also find crystals. There is a ton of backtracking. Really no clear direction. This becomes apparent the further you are into the game. Even with hints, you end up going back and forth just trying to figure out exactly what they want done next. Graphics were decently rendered. I would only recommend this as a DD.

Five locales with multiple locations within each. Straight HOG. Seemed a bit grainy to me on some of them. Probably intentionally to make finding objects harder. Have to find one item (geocache) each HOS, but you essentially have to click everything as it is not described in any fashion. Some objects hidden within other objects, requiring you to break items or dust off walls. Have just played it the second time within a few months and stopped halfway through. This just ended up to be mind-numbingly boring and tedious. Overall rating is a 2.75 at best.

Very good storyline. Graphics, sound, and video rendered nicely. A little backtracking, but clickthrough to various scenes very rapid. The only knocks are the use of some items in HO scenes that are not in commonplace usage by Americans, forcing one to Google to figure out just exactly what you are supposed to find. Many of these game developers are in European countries and what may be a normal item to them is a "wassat" to us. Length of game was fairly long. Only other issue was the evidence board. Didn't really like it, but that was where some of the clues were shown. While not a true 5 star game, it is definitely a 4.5.
