This game completely surprised me. I love the SoM games. The Silver Arrow is one of my top 10 favorite BF games ever and although I am a bit tired of the same bad guys over and over, I still love the story and world present. This game was a huge shock. First, the present of Isa completely negates the Bonus Chapter end of the last game. Also, it makes no sense. We jump right into the game with no sense of who we are (minus the fact you are a princess) and the story rushes from point A to B with little to no information. Even by the end, I am at a loss of why the events happened and how we managed to stop them. Characters are introduced without any explanation and anything that happens to them occurs without any reason. The gift of the Mirror (hope this doesn't count as a spoiler since it is kind of a SoM standard) is confusing as is why it works which destroys my suspension of disbelief. I cannot believe this is from the same people who made so many of my other favorite games...
The puzzles were also terrible, either too hard or just plain boring. The game offered nothing new are interesting. The visuals were by the books as was the music and the acting was cringe worthy. Not worth the money or the time. I am sorry I bought it.
I don't recommend this game.

From the makers of the Rite of Passage series comes a ground-breaking new series that's as creepy as it gets.

It is so thrilling to get a game like this, they are so rare that they must be treasured. I loved this one. It was everything I like in a game and it was nice to get another intense game (the other was True Fear which I also loved and am still waiting for the next one).
This game had a nice douse of different which BF is in desperate need of. I wish it had delved further into the fear aspect but I still enjoyed it and the bonus chapter meshed up perfectly with the game, which is almost unheard of. Usually it is a prequel or a continuation that doesn't make sense. But this one wasn't. I won't give it away but the difference made the CE worth more than ever.
The music was a nice touch, it added to the game as did the graphic quality which was stellar. Once I picked up this game, I couldn't put it down. Wish BF would bring more of these kind of games, instead of the cookie cutter Detective/mother situation HOS games that are getting a bit tiring. This was a fascinating story that made sense for the most part and was enjoyable. Made me wish True Fear would get part 2 out, been waiting forever!
I recommend this game!

This game took me by surprise. It is a lot of fun, is very unique and is challenging without being frustrating. This game lacks the hold you hand kind of approach that most games have which I appreciate but might be a problem for newer players. Its been fun exploring and figuring it out, reminds me of games I had when I was younger (Sierra, etc). This is by far the best Match 3 game to come out from BF in a very long time and I couldn't be more pleased. The look, sound and feel is amazing and so far, there isn't anything I would change. Even the story is engaging which is so unusual for a game like this. I am impressed. If you are new to attack based match 3 games (especially ones that make you plan, don't play this one) but if you want a challenge this is the game for you.
I recommend this game!

I like the idea that was presented here, the HOS/Adventure line here at BF is seriously lacking in the SF Alien story and this looks great from a distance. But it never really gets going. The dialog isn't well written (people don't talk like people do which is a common problem in most HOS games) and the story doesn't take any time to establish itself before it gets going making it very confusing. Speaking of confusing, some of the puzzles are very weird and hard to get. I like the graphics but hated the constant stimulation of the hint marker which is so distracting. This game had potential but it just didn't make it up to the mark.
I don't recommend this game.

Based on 100% completion of the game: This one was better than the last one both in visual/sound quality and in story. However, the story was all over the place, left nothing really well explained and the villain was unimaginative. You kind of jump in without it making much sense and go place to place without thought. It is still a huge step down from the first one which is pretty much one of the best games ever made. Perhaps that is the problem with this series, like in Star Wars (the orig). Once you have made the best, where can you go from there?
The game runs well enough, some of the morph objects are incredibly difficult to find but the look and feel is nice enough. But it is a ghost of what it could be with better story writing and logical direction. I bought it hoping it would get better but it never did. Not the worst but not nearly good enough. It is simply okay.
I don't recommend this game.

I love the Dark Parables. I have played all of them all the way through with the exception of this one, which is so redundant and boring, I can't seem to finish it. I actually played it with my children (ages 7 and 8) who really wanted to play this one since they loved Red Riding Hood so much but by about the 1 hour mark, both couldn't stand it any more. The HOS just goes on and on, one after the other. They are hard to see too. Not too many other puzzles or anything else to do, just HOS after HOS in a dark area. The story is alright, but nothing compared to the others. I am grateful I didn't play this one first or I might have missed the others thinking they were like this one. The level of quality has really changed. This is a miss.
I don't recommend this game.

The first Phantasmat took me totally by suprise and is still one of my favorite HOS games of all time. When this came out, I couldn't wait to try it. Not sure what happened, but this game lacks all of the magic of the first one (I haven't played the second yet).
The story is rushed and unoriginal which was kind of annoying. It starts the same way the first one does, only with a Daughter this time. The game lacked flow as well. I can't stand it when items you collect are found in unrealistic places or simply don't make sense and this one did this to the point that it was too distracting. The HOS was hard to see as well.
I stopped the demo after 49 mins and won't be buying it. The wost part was that when I stopped and went to the menu, the game erased my profile and glitched out the BF app. Had I bought it, I would have had to start over. Play the original and leave this one alone, it just isn't that good.
I don't recommend this game.

I am surprised by the response to this one. Although it is in no way as good as the first, it is still really good. The puzzles are fun and with a few exceptions of over repetitive use of some, they keep you interested. The story was entertaining as well, even if it was a bit predictive. So far, this is one of the most stand out series BF has to offer, the graphics, music and story are all above and beyond.
I recommend this game!

I would point out that I was looking to this game as a possible for my freebie which means that I am rejecting it and it would have cost me nothing. It is simply terrible. Maybe it doesn't help that I played the new Nevertales right before it but the graphics we deplorable, the directionality arrows irked me and the inability to lock the inventory was vexing. To top that, the HOS was something I might find on a .99 IPad game. The items were badly placed in, looked horrible and the items were hard to distinguish. Also, the puzzles (well, the one I played before I quit) was out of place, it just wouldn't exist in a car. I know that really no puzzle really makes sense but this was pushing it. It might be okay with a new player (although I hope not cause it might turn them off of HOS for life) but I have been playing for 5 years so this kind of angered me. I actually expect better quality from BF. DO NOT get this game unless you don't care about quality. Its like a B Movie (something form the Asylum).
I don't recommend this game.

This game reminded me so much of the games I grew up on, So unlike the usual games one buys here. The graphics were amazing, the music was beautiful and I am even thrilled with the pointer (which is one of the best I have ever seen). The story was not necessarily new but it was a great rewrite of an old idea, and the methods of solving it was more fun than I have had in an HOS in a while. This game also kept the sounds enjoyable instead of overwhelming like most games. I know I pick on that a lot, but its strange how you might not notice it until you turn the game off and find yourself with a headache how annoying a game's background sounds can be, and turning them off isn't always a solution.
The bonus chapter was well worth the extra, as well. It was long without being boring, it was a little heavy on the HOS but still great. I will add that it isn't worth getting the SE because the bonus chapter directly ties into the main story in a critical way (no spoilers) and the SE is not complete without it,
This game is ideal for anyone who enjoys a good adventure!
I recommend this game!
