I want to love this game, I really do. It's got a lot of challenge, or maybe I just don't think the way that you need to in order to get three stars. But there are some big drawbacks for me:
1. The game constantly stutters on my computer. It doesn't make it unplayable, but ugh. Maybe pausing for a second every 3-4 seconds. It's consistent enough that I can work with it and still play but it makes it unenjoyable.
2. As others mentioned, the grammar in the storyline is atrocious. I feel like a native English speaker could make a living proofreading all of these games! Obviously that doesn't impact the game itself, but it does knock the enjoyment down a notch or two.
So I love the challenge level, but I still can't rate it highly. I'm not eager to get back to playing it again, so I know that these things are really getting in the way for me.
Why can't someone make a game like Gardens, Inc. was? It seems like we keep getting offered lower and lower quality...
This is a good little game if your main criteria is challenge. It's a puzzle to figure out the right way to do the level. If you are sitting and waiting to accumulate resources, you've chosen wrong. The story, graphics, and music aren't all that, but it's awesome on the challenge factor, and that's why I play TM games.
This is a really good game in my opinion. It reminds me of Island Tribe a bit -- the order in which you do things is critical, and for some objectives you really have to think ahead or else you'll never finish in time.
The developers have also been very creative in mixing things up in terms of resources available, resources needed, level layouts, and so on. No level feels repetitive or like they just phoned it in.
It's nice to have a really challenging game to play. The easier ones are fun too, but this one is giving me lots of hours of enjoyment.
I really like this series. The graphics are good, gameplay is smooth, and the storyline is likeable. I caught myself playing with a smile on my face!
I just didn't feel that this particular game had enough challenge. As I usually do, I played thorugh on the normal level and then on the expert level. Expert really wasn't hard at all. I didn't ever have to try a few different strategies to find the one that worked -- so long as I stayed on the ball, I always finished in time. So I took a star off for that. I totally recommend this game, though, and I hope that there is another installment of it!

This is much harder than previous games in this series. It can be hard to figure out what to do at times, but that's part of the fun and challenge. At first I was disappointed that there wasn't an Expert mode, but as I played I realized that there is plenty of chalenge on every level.
I totally understand that this game could be frustrating for many -- the shortcomings have been covered by other reviewers. But for me, this is an excellent game. Sure it's frustrating sometimes but that's OK -- I definitely feel like I got my money's worth on this one.

(based on playing the free trial) The Gardens Inc. series is my Gold Standard of Time Management games, and this installment is fun, with all the things that I love about the series plus enough new twists to keep it feeling fresh.
The graphics and music are fun, the storyline is coherent (although I don't think a storyline is as important in a TM game). There are three levels of difficulty, so all players will find a suitable challenge.
Great innovative features, but it wasn't fun for me

I really liked that this game is different than regular time management games. You're not playing the clock, you're playing against a certain number of moves. So there is more time to think and strategize. Which should be great! Something different, and that's a Good Thing.
But I just don't like this game. The graphics are annoying -- large and unrefined -- and I turned off the sound effects & music.
I love the new ideas, but the execution was lacking. Give it a try -- you might love it, because it is different, and you might enjoy the style.

This is the fourth Roads of Rome, I only bought the first one and did not care for it enough to check out the 2nd & 3rd. This series isn't quite up to the level of what I consider the best ones (Viking Saga, Northern Tales, Gardens Inc., Island Tribe, etc.) but it's the kind of game that is my favorite so I'm ranking it highly, hoping for more of these types of games!
The story line is good and sets up the level objectives well. The dialogue shows signs of having been written by non-native English speakers, but I've seen worse. I don't usually play with the music on, but I like the sound effects.
There are four levels of difficulty and the normal and hard modes satisfy me. The easy mode is suitable for new players. Relaxed is untimed, and I have never understood why people play a time management game untimed, but it's there for you if you like playing that way.
The tasks are standard fare. Each level has hidden bonus objects which I had trouble figuring out, so I like that feature a lot. Based on the early levels, this isn't the kind of game where there is only one way to play a level, if you find that feature frustrating.
All in all a solid time management game of my favorite type, definitely recommend if you've already gone through the top-tier games of this type!

This is my favorite type of TM game, and Gnomes Garden 2 is OK -- fun, but not challenging enough to hold my interest for more than one playthrough.
The storyline is a little bit muddled. But the objectives are clear enough so that you know what to do and why. It's not a violent storyline in any way. The graphics and sound are pleasant and very cute -- maybe a little bit too cute for my taste! Not annoying though.
The gameplay is fun & relaxing. I like the sound effects and I enjoy the fact that a lot of the objectives center on growing or restoring trees.
One big drawback is that there is only one level of difficulty to this game. You play to get three stars on each level and that's it. There is nothing like a developer's record to shoot for. You can queue tasks which makes the gameplay significantly easier. In short, it's not challenging enough for expert players.
Bottom line: it's cute and enjoyable, but there aren't enough extra challenges if you're an expert player.
