* Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Interactive map (with diary); * Elf the dog to help you; * Use the Gift of Sight (eye) to see what happened.
In this game you play a detective to find and rescue Oliver who has been kidnapped.
The graphics are very good - mostly kind of darkish and gray but easy to see everything. There is some colour and its definitely not cartoony or too bright.
Sound and music are very good - I noticed a lot of piano and guitar and I had it turned up very loud throughout the game.
The hidden objects games were interactive straightforward, silhouette and putting items back. These were fairly easy to do.
The mini-games were great and had a good challenge to them. There was a good variety with all the classics that we love to play plus some new ones I hadn't seen before. I enjoyed these and played all of them.
There were also a few puzzles - which are not too hard this time round. I managed to do them all without too much hair pulling. I thought that they were easier than the MCF Dire Grove puzzles. They were fun to do without being frustrating.
So do you get the CE or SE? Honestly I really enjoyed the CE. As well as a long bonus game, which in all honesty I enjoyed better than the main game, there are also 20 achievements, 10 collectibles to find, 22 morphing objects to find, coins to locate for vending machine and a Secret Room. So definitely well worth your hard earned money. There is definitely another couple of hours or more playing at the very least.
I most definitely recommend this game - well worth putting in your collection.
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Casual, Advanced, Expert and Custom modes of play; * Diary/Journal; * Interactive map; * 25 Achievements; * Find 21 morphing objects * Find picture parts; * Unbelievably cute little dragon to help you.
The graphics were very colourful and bright and a little cartoony in some places. Sometimes it was hard to make out what items were and what I was supposed to do with them.
Sound was good. The music was lovely - orchestral and quite beautiful. I had it on loud the whole time.
The hidden objects games were silhouette, find one item to use to find another item, etc and interactive straightforward. These were very easy to do and didn't take long.
There were a good variety of mini-games. None of them were hard to do and I flew through them. There were lots of them so I'm sure you will find your favourite games in there.
You have a very cute baby dragon to help you. You can't name it though. There are also fairies to give you a guiding hand as well.
All up the game and bonus took me about 5 hours. However, I did get bored after about 2 hours playing and couldn't wait for the game to finish. I suppose I just don't find cute pets and fairies very stimulating, but I bet your kids or siblings will.
Definitely check it out before buying to see if this suits you.
I bought this game and the second Bridge to Another World together, so I'm going to play that one now. Hopefully the game will be a bit more 'grown up'. Its not like this game is bad or anything - its just I need more of a challenge to keep me stimulated and if I can't get that, then I get bored.
* Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Regular and Expert modes of play; * Find 20 Life Stones; * Interactive map.
The graphics are not that great. They are quite dark and washed out, but it is easy to roam around and get the items you need.
Sound was good. There was only one piece of piano music which repeatedly played. It wasn't annoying or anything, so I kept it on the whole time.
The hidden object games were challenging. Because of the graphics it was very hard to find some objects which were very small or too dark to see. Therefore I had to use the hint a few times or go bonkers. I hate using hint but I had to move on somehow.
The mini-games were actually very good and I enjoyed doing these. There is plenty of variety and they are not too hard or frustrating. I'm sure you will find your favourite ones in there - like doing constellations, potions, etc.
There are plenty of locations to explore, so the interactive map transports you to the location you want to go to. However, the map doesn't show that you need to do any tasks there, so I kept a piece of paper handy to help me remember. I was playing a little bit every night during the week and I just couldn't remember where all the tasks were to do and in what location. So this helped.
The game is very long and I think I played about 6 hours or so.
Overall, not a bad game. The graphics let it down a bit but I did like the story and the characters. If you like lots of HOS and mini-games (which I do), then definitely check this game out.
In this ghostly continuation of the Fear for Sale series, you've discovered a luxury ocean liner bears an eerie resemblance to a ship that vanished years ago.
The graphics were predominantly good. There was plenty of colour and everywhere was easy to see and crisp.
Sound was good. I liked the music which was orchestral, with some piano.
There were a lot of hidden object games which were interactive silhouette and straightforward. Some HOS were find one item to use to find another item, etc. I found the HOS to be have a good challenge to them because some items were hard to see. Alternatively, if you don't feel like HOS or you get stuck trying to find an item, then you can do puzzles instead. I did a bit of both.
There were a good variety of mini-games which were mostly very easy to conquer. Some were move the red and green balls to their right position, push the knob through the maze and turn the gears with it, fill the fire pit with logs without leaving any gaps; swap the magnets and crystals to their right side, swap pieces of the mosaic to create a safe course, etc. I've seen them all before, but I still enjoyed replaying them.
All up the game and bonus took me about 7 hours or so. I enjoyed the game, liked the characters and felt the bonus game was a good length. I could have carried on playing for much longer because its such an all rounder likeable game.
It is possible to get all the achievements and morphing objects. I did it and if I can do it, then you most certainly can. Its not too hard to achieve.
Definitely recommend that you put this in your collection.
In the main game you play Ella who has to save your fiance, Anthony, who was poisoned and you only have a certain amount of time to find the andedote. In the bonus game it is 5 years later and you play Detective Swanson who has to find the kidnapped son (Mike) of the Murphys. You have an evidence board to add clues to and to do finger printing, etc Both games are linked up together and there is a good twist to it.
There is:
* Novice, Artist, Virtuoso, Maestro and Improviser (Custom) modes; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Interactive map; * 14 achievements (some with 3 levels in 1 achievement); * Find 42 Golden Tickets; * Extras with a Ticket Hunt, Treasure Hunt and Match 3 games.
The graphics were awesome - very colourful, crisp and so detailed. Mad Head Games really do know their graphics.
Sound was very good. The music was totally out of this world and I had it on so loud the neighbours could hear it. Where do they get these wonderful musicians from?
The hidden object games were fun and challenging. Some of these were straightforward, matching pairs, find HOS by torchlight and silhouette. There is also one morphing object per HOS. If you get all the morphing objects then you get an achievement. I just made sure I did it first so I didn't forget about it because you can't go back.
The mini-games were varied and had a great challenge. Some of these were put the musical notes in the right position; sneak into Room 24 at the Hospital to see Anthony; deactivate the explosives and put the spider legs in the right position. I loved all of them and didn't hint and or skip any. Some took a while to figure out, however there were no frustrating puzzles.
There are 42 Golden Tickets to find - one in each scene. Some of these were very hard to find - so a good challenge there. However, if you don't feel like looking for them in the game, you can do these altogether later.
In the extras you will need to find 42 collectibles. Once you have found those, then you can play Match 3 which you have to do in the least amount of moves - so you can better your score the more you play. There is also a hidden object game which you can try and beat your own time. I enjoyed playing these.
All up the game, bonus and extras took me about 8 hours playing on Maestro which had Hint and Skip turned off.
I truly recommend this game and know you will love it. I liked the characters, the MUSIC was sensational and the challenge was great. Definitely my favourite game now. Happy playing fishes.
* Voiceovers (with dialogue) * Casual, Expert, Hardcore and Custom modes of play; * Interactive map; * Journal.
I found the graphics to be very good - everywhere is clear to see with good colour.
Sound is good. There wasn't really any music in the game - it was mostly quiet.
The hidden object games were easy. These were mostly straightforward and putting items back in their right place. They didn't take long to do and there were no teeny tiny or indecipherable objects to find. Each one took me about 2 minutes to do. Alternatively you could play Pyramid Solitaire. I did give one a try which seemed relatively straightforward.
There were a huge range of mini-games which I enjoyed. Some of these were untangling vines, rearranging disks back to their proper place, making a recipe for a potion; arranging papers to match the symbol; restoring stained glass shards; find differences on a flag; arranging crystal balls in chronological order; balancing weights; repairing statutes and arranging labels.
So overall I enjoyed the game and liked the characters. I did customarise it to make it as hard as I could, but I still found it too easy. The flow of the game was good and I did most tasks as I went along, so there wasn't too much back-tracking. There is plenty to and you won't get bored.
So do you get the CE or SE? The CE has 37 morphing objects to find and 15 achievements, most of which you can easily get. Personally I think you would be very happy with the SE. The extras in the CE didn't make the challenge of the game any harder. It just depends on what you are in the mood for at the time.
Once again you play Sarah Pennington. In the main game you go back to the year 1677 to find the scepter, which goes with the mask. In the bonus you have to free the Royal Griffin (your time travel ship) and yep you have yet to still find the scepter.
There is Casual, Advance and Export modes of play, voiceovers (with dialogue) and a notebook (together with a map).
The graphics were predominantly okay, but they were very cluttered and sometimes it was hard to see things in some areas. However, there was plenty of colour this time. I actually preferred the graphics from the first game which were grayer and more somber but overall so much more clearer and no clutter.
Sound and music was good. Music was mostly orchestral with some chanting.
The hidden object games were slightly interactive straightforward. There was no deviation from this. These were extremely cluttered and very hard to see some items. However, you can play Mah-jongg instead. Normally I love HOS but, because items were just too hard to see, I mostly played Mah-jongg and gave the HOS a wide berth because they started to drive me crazy.
The mini-games I have seen all before. Some were rotate the brooch to light up the gems, making potions, move the tile to the right position, doing jigsaw puzzles and rotating tiles to line up. These ranged from easy to medium to do. Nothing too frustrating or hard.
All up the game and bonus took me about 7 hours without skipping or hinting, so good value for money.
I'm now about to start on Part 3 - Secret Order - Ancient Times. Part 4 is Secret Order - Beyond Time.
This is the first of four time travel games. The next three are Secret Order - Masked Intent, Secret Order - Ancient Times and Secret Order - Beyond Time.
You play Sarah Pennington and your mission is to find the rings so that you can travel back in time to save all members of the Order who were killed in a fire. You use a communicator to talk with your nephew, Mike, who is in the future.
In this game there are no modes of play or voiceovers, but there is dialogue. However, don't let that deter you - this is a fantastic game.
The graphics are kind of grey, darkish and muddy - sort of like living in the ghetto without any sunlight. You can turn up the brightness a couple of notches if you feel it looks a bit dark. However, you can see everywhere clearly.
Music is excellent - mainly orchestral and in some parts chanting which matches perfectly with the game.
The hidden objects games were straightforward and slightly interactive. They were quite a lot of them but they weren't hard to do and don't take long.
There were a great variety of mini-games. Some were use the crane to break through the concrete to get into the sewer, rotate the rings to line up with patterns on the right, turn on all the lights, etc. These had a good challenge to them and I really enjoyed them.
There is a lot to do in this game and I seemed to be finding and using a lot of tools and gadgets - I felt like a bloke tinkering around in his garage. Strangely enough I loved it.
Up all the game took me about 6 hours to play, not skipping or using hints. I'm about to start on Secret Order - Masked Intent now to carry on with the story. Time travel is my ultimate favourite and I can't get enough of it.
Definitely worth putting in your collection. This game is slightly old hat without the modes of play or voiceovers but I'm sure that is going to change in the next game.
* Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom modes; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * 20 Achievements; * Interactive map (with diary); * Elf the dog to help you; * Use the Gift of Sight (eye) to see what happened; * Find 22 morphing objects in game and bonus; * Find 10 collectibles in game and bonus; * Find coins to put in vending machine and buy figurines in game and bonus.
In the main game you play a detective to find and rescue Oliver. In the bonus game you play Mr Owl Man to save Robyn and to defeat the Master of the Swamp. You also have an owl to help you grab objects out of your reach.
The graphics are very good - mostly kind of darkish and gray but easy to see everything. There is some colour and its definitely not cartoony or too bright.
Sound and music are very good - I noticed a lot of piano and guitar and I had it turned up very loud throughout the game and bonus.
The hidden objects games were interactive straightforward, silhouette and putting items back. These were fairly easy to do.
The mini-games were great. Some of them were swap the tiles to get the complete picture, change the screws and align them to make the mechanism work; rotate the circles to make a picture, make the energy flow through the circuit boards, rotate bottles as per diagram, rearrange the photos, arrange the petals, etc.
There were also a few puzzles - which are not too hard this time round. I managed to do them all without too much hair pulling. I thought that they were easier than the MCF Dire Grove puzzles. They were fun to do without being frustrating.
In the Secret Room you have to undertake hidden object tasks for the villagers to earn stars. When you collect all the stars for all tasks you will unlock the dossier with detailed information about some of the villagers. These took me a fair while to do because these are timed.
All up the game took me about 10 hours to do playing on Hardcore mode and without any skipping or hinting. Its easy to get most, if not all, of the achievements. I failed on the one of getting 10 objects in 10 seconds - yeah that just ain't gonna happen for me - I'm never going to be that fast.
I most definitely recommend this game - well worth putting in your collection.
In this game you play Julia who has to rescue your twin sister Sophia who was abducted when you were children.
I also played 'Greed - Mad Scientist' by the same developers which was good as well.
There is:
* Normal, Hard and Detective modes of play; * Voiceovers (with dialogue); * Journal; * Find 9 of Sophia's diary collection; and * Find 10 of the Oracle's emblem collection.
The graphics are really good and very well defined. Roaming around collecting items was fun and I was never bored at all.
Sound and music are good. Music was orchestral and I had it on loud the whole time.
The hidden object games were slightly interactive straightforward and silhouette. You do these twice. They were quite easy to do because everything was crystal clear and there were no dark, blurry or items hidden behind others.
The 9 diary collection and the 10 Oracle's emblem collection were very easy to find. They are not hidden and you just pick them up along the way.
I enjoyed the mini-games. Some of them were turn the pressure down on the valves; rotate tiles to make a complete picture; arrange LEDs so no two of the same colour connect; rotate the stone rings to complete picture, etc. They were not too hard to do, but there was no hand holding either.
The game took me about 4 hours, playing on Detective mode and I didn't skip any mini-games. I wish it had been longer as I was really enjoying myself.
Definitely recommended. I like this developer. They have a good sense of adventure and seem to know what people like. Give it a try - its well worth it.
