I have just stopped getting BF games as I can't seem to download them - even the ones I l already have! My techy hubby has found complicated ways around this problem but now that doesn't even work. So unfortunately I am no longer dealing with the hassle.
I have been a big fish user for many years and this is my first review. I LOVE THIS GAME!! It is so fresh and unique in story line and in play mechanics. When I finish the game I just know I will turn around and play it again (which I have never done with any other game)
Also... this game reminds me of an old favorite which isn't available anymore - Wandering Willows. So much so that I wonder if some of the same people worked on this one too.
I look forward to these every holiday season and this one is right up there with my favorites! (favorite of all time is the Puss and Boots one) The adorable helper fox is perfect. The bonus game is fabulous. And I love Christmas themes with a more Europen fairy tale feel and this one has that. So thank you Elephant Games for helping to make my Christmas a bit more merry and bright!!
I decided to give this game a try in spite of the 2 luke warm reviews. I am so glad I did because I don't just like this game, I ADORE this game so far! It has all the bells and whistles that spell fun to me. I am all about fairy tale/ fantasy genres and the artistry in this game rends that quality beautifully! The voices and soundtrack are spot on and the helper is as cute as the dickens. For me, an animal helper really adds to a game and I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of others who share this feeling. I often get frustrated playing games that make figuring out what to do next or how to use an object to solve a puzzle ridiculously obtuse to figure out. Not so with this game. Logical is the watchword here and I sooo appreciate that! So this is a review that HIGHLY HIGHLY recommends this game!!
Love, love LOVE this game! After reading some of the reviews I was a little bit doubtful but after playing a bit I knew this game was MADE for me! First of all I am crazy about the helper cat Mr. Jenkins. He looks a whole lot like my own cat so first check for the favorite column. I think his vocalizations are endearing and not annoying in the least!
Second, I really like the story line and don't find it confusing or boring but to each his or her own. I really like games that take place in the picturesque past which is the case here.
I also really like the background music... new but fitting the location and setting of the game.
In short, I haven't found anything in this game not to like - 5 stars all the way. Now if only I could get my cat to do helpful chores like Mr. Jenkins...
Oh boy! A new cute looking Match 3 game (my favorite type). I charged ahead with great enthusiasm which was immediately dampened by the limited move aspect. There is a relaxed setting that seems to be unusable which might become available later in the game. I probably won't play long enough to find out. I REALLY dislike having to replay levels over and over. Also there is a click the button feature which changes the type of button to (hopefully the color you need. That would be an interesting and unusual aspect except that by the third level I found myself needing to click all the buttons to find matches for the requested ones. Annoying!!
Even though I have been playing Big Fish games for quite a while, this is my first review. I was inspired to do so because I was so blown away by this game. Better reviewers than I will go into the details. I loved this game from the first scene to the last. There was even a part in the storyline that made me cry! My biggest problem with it is that I was torn between savoring it in small bites or gobbling the whole thing down in one day! I knew that the past Christmas Story games would be hard acts to follow but this one is at the top in my opinion. That you SOOO much Elephant Games for this gem!
