Based on partial demo play. The initial cut scene is beautifully done and I thought I would love this game but it fell short. It was too confusing and I played games -- lost -- didn't know why -- deleted it.
Please play the demo and read some reviews. Many loved it and other, like me, hated it. I've played Montezuma 2 so many times and absolutely loved it, however, I was never able to finish that one either. M3 is really not my forte.
I don't recommend this game.

Twisted Lands: Origin
Experience the birth of the terror that gripped the island of Tormente! Every story has a beginning, but few are as horrifying as this!
This game is addictive. You are a male private detective asked to come to the Island of Tormente by an old friend whose daughter has disappeared. When you arrive you find others have also disappeared and the town is virtually deserted.
If you don't like HOS then you won't like this game because it has many -- some back to back and scenes are repeated. However, I do like HOS and found the lists very well hidden in plain sight.
I loved the music. I had it low but I could still hear it, but it wasn't intrusive. The visuals are nice albeit a little monochromatic.
There is a map which is useless IMHO. It is not a jump map so I saw no redeeming factor in it. I used the hint button to give me directional arrows and that worked fine.
There is so much running back and forth -- the challenge is trying to remember where to use the inventory item you've just acquired. Usually the items are used fairly quickly and you don't have endless numbers of items just sitting in inventory.
There were 4 puzzles that I didn't care for because there wasn't enough information. However, there is a wonderful walk through so I worked it out. I wish there had been more puzzles. I think the developer missed some golden opportunities.
This game is fairly long. Just as I thought it was coming to an end, I was off again opening new scenes and acquiring new items.
You should play the demo and read a few reviews. I hope mine was helpful.
I recommend this game!

Twisted Lands: Shadow Town
Gather items, solve puzzles and make spine-chilling discoveries as you explore a deserted island in Twisted Lands: Shadow Town!
This is based on completion of the game in casual mode. This game came out in 2011 and it shows -- there isn't a map and there is a whole lot of back and forth -- but that's the only thing wrong with this game. I absolutely loved it!
This is a story of a couple out at sea in a small boat. Somehow the guy falls over board and ends up washed ashore on a small island which seems to be deserted. There are lots of diaries to read and some pretty creepy tales.
In lieu of the map, there is a great hint system that gives free directional hints. Regular hints (not the directional ones) take about a minute to reload.
There are plenty of HOS and you visit them multiple times. Even though you visit them more than once doesn't mean they're easy -- not by a mile. The scenes are kind of mono-toned, the lists are very long, and the items are well blended in. In a few cases, even after using the hint, I really had a hard time making out the item -- I just clicked in the middle of the hint. I really wish more games had these types of HOS.
I didn't care much for the music and turned it down as well as the background sounds. There are no voice overs.
The directional hint button really saved this game from being so hard that nobody would want to play it. I got really confused moving through the fog but the hint got me through.
It's a spooky story and I really didn't expect the ending. I'm planning to play the sequel next and hope it's as good as this one. I've demoed a lot of duds lately so this was refreshing and I get to write a good review.
Please play the demo first and read some reviews to make an informed decision.
A fire breaks out during a concert, and now your daughters are both missing. Hurry to track them down – their music may hold the key to life and death!
Based on 30 minutes of the 90 minute demo. It was so bad I couldn't eve finish the demo. It's about 2 little girls who are very promising musicians. While at a school recital with other children, a fire breaks out on stage and the 2 girls are kidnapped. The mother sets out to find them.
It's really unbelievable that no one but the girls mother stuck around to put out the fire. You never see what happens to the other children -- were they also abducted? And using a tuning fork to turn on water to the fire hose? Please.
Besides this being boring, there are long delays changing between every scene you touch on. The screen goes black for about 10 seconds. This is unforgivable.
Lastly, there is nothing I can see that makes this a CE. Please play the demo to make up your mind. For me this is a looser (IMHO) and I don't recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

Halloween Mahjong
Trick the computer as you treat yourself to a ghoulish game of solitaire Mahjong!
Based on partial completion of the game. I got bored. It was hard to get the cursor just right to click on the tile. I think it's because it is a big green hand pointing. I think the idea was to get the finger just right. The music was repetitive and I turned it and the sounds down.
There wasn't a clue or hint as to what was available and I didn't win any of the 3 games I played. That in itself was so discouraging. Why would I buy a game I can't win?
Play the demo before buying this one. There are much better mahjong games out there. Too bad because the themed idea was a good one.
I don't recommend this game.

Blue Tear
Lift the curse off the abandoned estate and help rescue your friends!
Based on about 50 minutes of the demo. I didn't like this game. While the opening cut scene looked promising with voice overs, it soon lost my interest when the scene moved from a creepy manor to somewhere in Africa.
I was lost in Africa. Nothing flowed. I also seemed to have problems with my cursor. Loading took a while. The hint worked well and I used it a lot. Whenever I have to use the hint button that often it's time to quit.
Luckily BF offers a generous hour to play before you pay. I can't recommend this game. A game like this just might turn away a new player.
I don't recommend this game.

The Stroke of Midnight
A romance author has stumbled upon a Victorian-era love triangle, and must reunite the long lost lovers in the afterlife!
Based on the demo. I'm tired of taking recommendations from BF that show up in my game manager. They all seem to be really old games that are duds.
This one looked promising. It's about a romance writer who has lost her imagination to churn out another paperback. So off she goes to Transylvania. Really? She shows up at a castle and when she finally enters (she first goes across a pond using stepping stones to a cemetery) it's a wreck -- no one seems to be home. She goes to "her room" where there's a nice fire. I never have issues believing fairy tales in HOGs but this was too disjointed. Nothing was fluid.
There is no hint button. However in the HOS you click on the object you can't find and it will be shown to you. There is no recharge time.
There is no inventory. If you find an object, you use it immediately.
This just didn't impress me at all. Please play the demo and read some reviews. For me this is a no buy and I certainly can't recommend it.
I don't recommend this game.

Emma and the Inventor
Save Emma’s grandfather who has accidentally trapped himself in a mysterious void in Emma and the Inventor!
Based on the demo which ended after 38 minutes. I'm guessing the game is really short.
Emma goes to Grandpa's house -- Grandpa blows himself up in a time-traveling machine -- Emma must fix the machine and bring back Grandpa.
Nothing special to do except look for the sparkles and accomplish the task or HOS. The hint recharges about average. The puzzles were very simple.
Nothing kept me excited about this game so I'm passing the purchase. I recommend this game for a beginner and for someone very young. I'm a baby boomer so I have no interest in this game.
I recommend this game!

The Fall Trilogy Chapter 3: Revelation
After a new fall, you wake up in a Victorian house. A letter briefs you for a new mission in the The Fall Trilogy 3: Revelation!
Based on partial completion of the demo. I haven't played the other 2 games in this series. This was a recommendation from the Game Manager -- what a waste of my time.
The other reviewers said the puzzles were easy -- I found them difficult. There isn't anything easy about putting together a watch with about 15 parts -- had to skip it. Then trying to find the exact tiny spot to take the blood pressure was another skip. After that I gave up. I don't care what happened to the doctor, his patient, wife or son. Just get me out of this!
Play the demo and read some reviews. As for me this is a no buy and I won't be trying the others in this series.
I don't recommend this game.

Evil Pumpkin: The Lost Halloween
Seek the help of Lemuel Barnabas and unravel the mystery of what happened to Halloween in this ludicrous and imaginative hidden object adventure.
Based on the demo. This game is aggravating because there is too much going on simultaneously -- you have to find candy to buy things in a store to decorate your yard (more about this later), collect bats (more about this later) and read countless dialogue about almost every thing you touch.
There are voice overs. I heard a boy, his father, and an owl.
Looks like there might be a map but I only found part of it, so I didn't have an opportunity to use it.
There are small pieces of candy to collect which are used in a store. I collected lots of pieces and went to the store. I had no idea how much of what type of candy I had collected so I clicked on everything I could think of to buy. Finally it sounded like I had purchased something because a sold sign came up but I didn't seem to have it in my inventory nor had it been planted in the yard. Very confusing.
I also was told I would have to collect bats for hints. I only collected the one bat which was shown to me with the explanation, however I never saw another bat and I used the hint every time it recharged. When I found myself waiting out the hint to recharge I said enough and exited the game never to play it again.
I like games that are different but this is outrageous! There isn't a walk through and believe me it would have helped.
This was also touted as "Tomorrow's Game Today" but there are reviews from 10/13/2014 and today is 10/28/2014. This is the second time in the past couple of weeks BF has offered a TGT game that already had reviews.
You should play the demo and read some reviews. For me this game is too complex for me -- I prefer games that are relaxing and I won't purchase it or recommend it. IMHO the developers just layered too many things into one game which removed the fun value completely.
