Really liked this one. I found the characters interesting and I was really eager to follow along with the storyline. It kept me interested all the way through. Good HOG scenes, and interesting puzzles. Just a good over all production job on this game. I don't really see any week points, everything is just done very very well with this game.
I recommend this game!

I'm a big fan of the MCF series but this is not just the worst MCF game it is the worst HOG game I have played so far. There are so many things done wrong in this game and it's such a surprise considering that this game came out right after the wonderful and amazing Dire Grove.13th Skull just fails on so many levels. Some of the music and sound effects are annoying and stupid. From atypical "southern" banjo music to disgusting looped sound effects like constant belching every 3 seconds. Or someone screaming and threatening you constantly while you are solving puzzles. The puzzles are not inspired, one is a game of checkers, jeez! Most of the puzzles are just exercises in patience. Unlike most people I don't have a problem with live actors in a hidden object game, it can be done well like in Dire Grove, but here it is just not good. The interview style of them is pointless because you really don't have a choice of what you ask them, it's not like you have a dialog tree of questions like in a Role Playing Game and you are just basically clicking on a series of monologs. Besides the acting is soooo bad. At least the kids in Dire Grove had a bit of believable acting, here in 13th skull we get bad acting and unbelievably bad wigs!
I don't recommend this game.

Fans of HP Lovecraft will appreciate this game for the great sense of atmosphere that has been brought over from the book. It really feels like you are searching through an alien and incomprehensible landscape with it's own rules. It reminds me of the old PC game Gateway 2 Homeworld. If you are not familiar with Lovecraft but interested in this game, do your self a favor and read At the Mountains of Madness and then check out this game, it will add much more to the experience. Besides, IMO, At the Mountains of Madness is probably the most approachable Lovecraft "Mythos" story and it's pretty short. You don't have to be a die hard Lovecraft fan to enjoy the book or this game.
I recommend this game!

I'm a big fan of the MCF games but I really dislike this game and mostly just because I can't stand the main character. You are essentially working for her and she constantly annoys you with her repetitious comments. Yeah sure you could get past them by turning off the audio but then in the story scenes we are "treated" to her hate filled motivations for wanting you to investigate people. Sure it really makes you pray that she will get her comeuppance, but at the same time it really makes you not want to investigate anyone and thus not play the game. It's actually rare that I have such a hatred for a game character that I don't want to play the game, but it totally happened here. I feel it's just too much to ask any player to believe that anyone, including your character, would work for such a filthy disgusting character like this for an entire game. I would have said this was my least favorite MCF game until I played the abomination that is 13th Skull, oh god now there's a piece of work!
I don't recommend this game.

This takes the basic solitaire formula and gives it new life. The addition of the power cards is where it's at. The power cards use a rule breaking mechanic that is very enjoyable. The way that you can earn new power cards, star power (to allow you to use the more powerful cards) and the slots so that you can customize your power card deck are all very rewarding. Also I have to say I LOVE the music! It's relaxing but still jazzy and foot taping and doesn't get annoying. I just really enjoying playing this, even after I've unlocked everything, I still enjoy trying to beat my best score, which is over 3.5 million right now.
I recommend this game!
